Car and taxi stand. On the side closer to the airport. There's on the other side as well.

This "newer" state of the art (at the time) Bart and Caltrain station has gotten old quite quickly. It's sketchy during the night and abandoned during the day ( like any of the stations on the Bart line ), but sadly there really isn't anything to do nearby. I grew up in Millbrae and while there's an In-n-out nearby if you're adventurous, don't stray too far before missing your train. A busy hub when it comes to Giants games as well, so be prepared to search for parking on your way into the city. Overall bland and the area around it sucks. Check out the palm trees that must cost a fortune to maintain. This ain't San Francisco or Palo Alto yet.

This place is clean. In an OK location. Trains roughly run every 45mins. Access to BART or to the Airport is seamless from here and not expensive if carpooling with rideshare from this location you will save a bundle plus beat a lsrge chunk of traffic and wasted time if you go online and do some work. Look at times. Time yourself accordingly. Save a good 20 to 25 bucks a day. Also be aware at nights homeless activity and transient on the catwalks or exterior perimeter working people for money. Parking is plentiful and local law enforcement has a station nearby. Taxi service is here 24/7. Access to SF And Oakland games are easy. Prices are very comparable and 30% less than taxi or rideshare if timed right no surges and some fares are free if the Giants or a company sponsors a designated sports train. Lots to know. Enjoy your trip.

The main transfer point for Bart and Caltrain. It also is a good source for airport parking if youre organized enough to reserve in advance. Seems to be under utilized if you ask me. Sometimes if Guittard chocolate is i. Full swing, this place smells like brownies and/or chocolate. Weird!

Well lit.

Very well lit at night in what appears to be a safe neighborhood abs it's still in zone 1 for Caltrain so getting to San Francisco from here is at it's cheapest rate. It's convenient that you can transfer to the BART as well. Also a convenience is that there are lots of taxis standing by as well!

Headed down the peninsula and this is a pretty convenient transfer point from BART to SamTrans. Clean with benches at each bay.

Ask the Community - Millbrae Caltrain Station

How is parking here? Can I use BART parking if Caltrain parking fills up (without riding BART)? Are parking permits available?

Unfortunately, I believe you cannot technically use the BART parking if you are not taking BART. And, there is a fee for both, and the Caltrain checks their parking 24 hrs. However, I believe the BART does not charge or check after 3:00 or 4:00 pm.

Review Highlights - Millbrae Caltrain Station

The Millbrae station is of more importance than SF or SJ because it connects you to BART and therefore the city, the east bay, and the airport.

San Francisco International Airport - SFO

SFO is a balance of being an international airport without feeling as chaotic as LAX. It's big…read moreenough to handle tons of flights and 6+ lounges, yet somehow avoids that nonstop hectic traffic and chaotic vibes getting through checking in. Security lines move efficiently, and getting in and out of the gates via BART and the AirTrain/trams feels surprisingly smooth. My suggestion is to download the Clipper transit card rather than buying from machines. The airport also feels clean and convenient -- there's art work of the city on walls, rotating exhibits, and even mini museum-style installations in Terminal 1. And this place clearly loves pets. I spotted two separate dog relief areas, aka Dogpatch", at Terminal 1, which feels like "pet-friendly" planning. Very cool.

It's a small airport but not hard to navigate. Sometimes the stereotypes just reveal themselves as…read moretrue. I think of San Francisco as a place where yoga is popular and was an early adopter of that hobby in the US, and here in the airport is a yoga studio in the E gate area just past the United club. The bathroom situation is dismal. They need about twice as many family bathrooms as they have. We waited around outside one for collectively at least 15 minutes (we went into the women's to see if the large stall was ok but it was not clean). Even going to another area of the airport and then going more than hour later we found them occupied every time. Interestingly, they're a "quiet airport". There are no notifications broadcast airport-wide--the only announcements are at the gate, and you can check the electronic boards throughout the building. It was indeed quiet and peaceful, which I think made for a more relaxed, pleasant experience (for me, at least). Sometimes they have art exhibits. Terminal D had an exhibit called Give Me a Rin: A Telephone Retrospective in April 2026. It was interesting to see learn a bit about telephony, the various iterations of telephones, and even a few that I'm positive we owned. I didn't see a cordless phone, though, which I would have thought might be a big leap in technology for phones at the time. Anyway, it was nice to wander and kill a bit of time.

Broadway-Millbrae Caltrain Shuttle

This is my first week riding this shuttle. It has been reliable but as with all things "Caltrain"…read morehas a nonsensical schedule. I guess they changed the schedule first thing Monday, March the 2nd, the day I needed to start taking it. They have a 40 minute break period in between shuttle routes between 7:40am and 8:21am. No one wants to go to work then do they? Geez!! Caltrain!! I had to stop taking it months ago and now rely on the shuttle to get to BART. Fortunately, there is only that one break and the shuttle runs pretty regularly every other 15 mins intervals and the man who drives the bus is so kind and explains everything to you. Today he handed me a schedule and asked me to leave him a good review which I'm doing because people complain like it's his fault his supervisors mess with the schedule. Reliable, efficient, CLEAN, take it.

So, I'm grateful that Caltrain has this shuttle during commute hours on the weekdays. Especially…read morewhen I have to leave from work early because I'm not feeling well or some such thing. However, the afternoon driver is the MOST MISERABLE person to walk the face of the earth. I've come across homeless people who are more personable than he. He sneers when you board, he honks because the driver in front of him isn't going fast enough, he gestures because the driver on the other side of the road can't read his mind when he wants to turn left. He's always groaning or sighing, criminy. Sad thing is, he doesn't look like he's anywhere near retirement. I don't expect a Fantasy Island greeting but what the fuck, you're in a service industry pal. Get over yourself and enjoy your simple-ass job of driving a shuttle bus a whole 1.5 miles back and forth.
