Took BART from Powell station to SFO. One can take either the yellow or red line (Millbrae SFO). Cost from Downtown San Francisco Powell station is $10 one way, 1/3 of the cost of a Lyft ride. Very convenient!

Location is convenient . I don't see too many people. The station is generally in good condition. I feel safe traveling alone here.

Ask the Community - BART - Millbrae Station

I am planning to fly from SFO during the thanksgiving week (the entire week). Is it possible to park at the Millbrae Bart station for such a long time?

    Is long term parking available?

Does the Millbrae BART parking lot fill up on Sundays? Planning to park there around noon or 1pm on a Sunday. Is the parking lot normally full then?

    Nope! You should be good!

How quickly does millbrae bart parking fill up in the morning?

The Bart station has permit parking and non permit parking, since it's a 5 story structure and it's huge, the entire place doesn't fill up until about 10 am, but I have always been able to find a spot, hope this helps!

I've ridden BART plenty of times before. Usually it's crowded, sometimes a little grimy, but it gets the job done. This time, though, I was honestly surprised. The SF International Airport station felt clean, organized, and surprisingly calm. Maybe was because it was Saturday? Who knows. Either way, the whole ride felt easy and peaceful -- a really nice way to head home after an emotional airport goodbye.

I love it that it's connected and accessible to both SFO and Oakland Airport as its last stop. While visiting SanFran the traffic can be terrible, and parking is hard to come by, when in areas but many stations are conveniently located near major streets and popular attractions. There are 3 major lines to transverse between NorCal area - yellow, red and blue. The BART is clean and most people respect and follows the rules of "no eating or drinking". I also like now each exits are cornered off in plexiglass....previously it was wide opened so you see a couple local people (mostly teenagers or young adults ) jumping over the turnstiles to avid paying the fares.

For departures, going through TSA is fast since they have tech for facial recognition and the human eye test. The security checkpoint isn't too bad especially now that we don't have to take off shoes. For arrivals, coming back through TSA was super fast. The officers don't need to check the passports. They ask several questions in addition to using their high tech equipment for facial recognition. It's so fast that they only needed two officers. It also helps that they split the lines for US passports, green cards, international passports, etc. It helps to separate the lines accordingly. I would say luggage claim could be better though. There weren't enough carts to retrieve our luggage. I'd say SFO is one of the better international airports in the U.S.

[Pros] * Convenient AirTrain (automated people mover) that takes travelers from the terminals to BART (Bay Area Rapid Transit) & the Rental Car Center. The ride time between stations is approximately 3 minutes and it was a fairly accurate estimate. Our party dropped off the rental car at 6:15 PM and arrived at Terminal 1 approximately 20 minutes later. * Easy TSA process - I was able to complete the TSA screening in 10 minutes on Sunday at 6:45 PM. * Really nice food and drink options in Terminal 1 like Tony's Pizza Napoletana (SF Eats Food Hall), Napa Farms Market (SF Eats Food Hall), Starbird (Gate B13), and Mama Go's Filipino Cuisine (Gate B18). * Heck there is even a small museum exhibit (SFO Museum) and a bookstore (Green Apple) in Terminal 1. * Top-notch retail options like the LEGO Store in Terminal 1. * There is a dressing room inside the men's restroom as well as a children's playground (between Gate B18 and Gate B19) & a yoga room (near Gate C2) in Terminal 1. [Cons] * Slightly confusing layout for TSA PreCheck (Level 3 - the upper level) vs regular TSA screening (Level 2 - the lower level). * I am not a fan of the extra AirTrain stop at West Field Road (no one got on or off at this stop). [Terminals] * Terminal 1 = Aer Lingus, Alaska, American, Delta, Frontier, Hawaiian, JetBlue, and Sun Country * Terminals 2 & 3 = Air Canada, Breeze, Southwest, United (Domestic), and WestJet * International Terminal = United (International) and all other international airlines [Conclusion]: This airport has all the amenities travelers can think of & this airport also has some of the best food and souvenir shop options travelers can find at airports in the United States.

Fortunately, there is only that one break and the shuttle runs pretty regularly every other 15 mins intervals and the man who drives the bus is so kind and explains everything to you.
