cozy place in cannon falls to gather with some friends and chat and have a cocktail. The male bartender did an amazing job following my very specific instructions on how to make our drinks. He is mainly the reason this place got four stars and not three! We got more service from him than our female waitress as he stopped by the table a few times and followed up with us ladies to make sure all was good and make us more drinks. The food was just okay--I got Fettuccini Alfredo and it was bland----I would not order that again--I will probably just stick to a basic chicken sandwich or something most places have. The inside has a nice exposed brick wall and plenty of smaller tables. It is not overly loud so you can actually have decent conversation here.

This is a cozy little place that you can grab a beer or glass of wine and some grub. We had a whiskey burger and a french dip. Both of them were good. The service is friendly and attentive. It is a cute little place with a nice decor and and they have a spacious patio to enjoy in the good weather months. If you are outdoorsy or had too much to drink, there is the nearby Cannon River Trail that you can stroll on for miles if you wish. I like the small town of cannon falls, they have good pizza, wineries and outdoorsy things to do. Cute town, check it out! Maybe I will see you there.

Deja Vu My wife has been trying to get me to stop here for the last year or so. Today I relented. As we walked up to the place I was a bit taken aback. "Wait, I've eaten here before!". Several years ago on a convoluted B&B tour of southern Minnesota. Mill Street is located in downtown Canon Falls, across the street from the winery. They serve a nice selection of burgers, sandwiches, and entrees. They also have a couple of craft beers on tap. Surly Furious for me today. I got the Whiskey Burger and my wife got the Blue Cheese Burger. Both had great flavor. This is one of the few whiskey sauces I have really liked. That burger was good, really good. Service was great. The people here are upbeat and proud of what they produce. Thats 5 stars in my book.

The best Friday Night Fish Fry I've been able to find since moving to Minnesota. Definitely recommend the Cod.

The Captain Jack burger was one of the greatest burgers I've ever had (yes, I have a list). Don't skip.

Not as good as it used to be. Not as clean, employees are not as fun or welcoming, and food isn't as good. Hoping it will bounce back.

It was a typical small-town bar and we like that. The ladies working there were chatty and friendly. Mostly old dudes sitting drinking and watching the news. So no music---no sports----serious news people. Apparently that is what goes down there. They even had some local papers on the bar from guys sitting there reading them. We had the burger and a beer. It was affordable and did the job. I would go again if i were thirsty and hungry and it sure as hell beats McDonald's up the road....because they have beer AND they are cheaper!

Typical bar food things to select from. The interior was clean and comfortable. The food was decent and portions were large. My only complaint is that the grill is an open concept in the bar area so you see everything being prepared. I was shocked to see the grill cook handle all the food items with bare hands. Then he would take a seat at the bar only to get up and cook more food without washing his hands. Rather disgusting in my book thus the 3 rating.

I ordered a basic, beef hard shell taco and it was yucky. I barely ate it. It's hard to screw up a taco but this one had a mushy shell, no flavor to the beef and little to no lettuce, cheese, etc. Added salsa to it to jazz it up and it didn't help. I rack it up to the worst taco I've ever had. My friend ordered the fajita quesidilla and she liked her food. It looked appealing. I'm not sure what happened to the awesome chips they used to have (this was several years ago). I didn't even eat the chips and salsa. Chips are lousy - greasy, awful flavor and texture and salsa is no big shake. We ordered queso and again, hard to screw up queso, but it was so runny like water and had no flavor. We didn't even eat it. What really disappointed me is the lack of care around the restaurant. The doors and windows are so smudged up and dirty. It makes it feel unclean. Most of the booth cushions were ripped up. At first he sat me at at a table that's cushions were all ripped up. I would have been sitting on the innards of the booth. Second booth was a slight improvement - but still big, wide rip on the seat. Super bummed on how this restaurant has changed so much. I used to drive from Rochester to eat Mexican there because it was so good. It's safe to say that this was my last time there. Hope they listen feedback and make improvements. Like to support small businesses - but this spot needs a lot of TLC.

The Burger Monarchy: A Paradox of Plenty in Miesville In the…read morequiet, pastoral stretches outside Eagan, there exists a roadside institution that defies the modern trend of curated minimalism. King's Place in Miesville is a relic of a different era, a burger joint that functions less like a restaurant and more like a high-volume assembly line of Americana. The menu is not merely large; it is an overwhelming, multi-page manifesto of beef. With roughly 80 to 100 variations on the burger--many named in tribute to the local Miesville Mudhens baseball team--the experience begins with a bout of genuine decision paralysis. For the average diner, the sheer volume of choices feels like a dare. It is a place where you can find almost any topping imaginable, which makes the absence of a simple fried mushroom all the more jarring. It is the one note the kitchen fails to hit in an otherwise exhaustive symphony. When the food does arrive, the logistics are the primary entertainment. The floor staff at King's Place perform a nightly feat of athletic grace, weaving through the crowded, character-filled dining room while balancing five or more burger trays at a time. It is a spectacle of efficiency that puts the sterile, automated nature of modern chains to shame. However, one must navigate the side dishes with a discerning eye. While the temptation to "upgrade" is always present, the seasoned waffle fries are an investment that yields little return; they are best skipped in favor of the standard fare. The real value here lies in the core product and the refreshing lack of pretension. Despite the fame and the daunting menu, the pricing remains stubbornly reasonable, a rare feat for an establishment that has transitioned from a local secret to a regional landmark. "Life is too short to miss out on the beautiful things like a double cheeseburger." -- Channing Tatum For those seeking the predictable polish of a franchise, King's Place will be a confusing sensory overload. But for the traveler who values soul, speed, and a price point that respects the wallet, this is a kingdom worth visiting--just don't expect to find a fried mushroom on your plate.
