Both were plenty good, AND you can have that burger served as a single or a double, depending on your ability to eat/appetite. I went there for lunch and sat at the bar. The bartenders were very friendly and helpful. There are over 100 choices of burger combinations on the menu. The burger was delicious. Maybe it is because I work too hard over the course of the year, or because big city bars aren't all their cracked up to be, but spending a few late December evenings at Andy's strikes me as a nearly perfect way to end the year. The fish on the walls, the numerous softball trophies displaying local athletic prowess, and a neon sign that reminds us all to, "Keep it Golden, Minnesota." What more could you really want? Pitchers run around $7 and its easy to start a tab. Trivia during much of the year is on Friday evenings, but they postpone the competition while the college kids are home. The crowd is quite a bit younger during Spring Break, River City Days, and the Holidays. The crowd is more mixed locals during the rest of the year. My minor critiques of this bar (I'm being tough on them, but come on, I gave them five stars) - from time to time I've strolled upstairs to gawk at the people I went to high school with below; why is nobody ever up there hanging out? My sister responds to this complaint by saying, "Its really cold up there!" When my friends and I have failed to find a table we've gone up there to chill out, narcissistically thinking the party will just follow us - but it never does and we're forced to dart downstairs to grab a table later on. The one positive comment I've heard about the upstairs comes from an out of towner who married a local. She once told me, "It is great to go up there so that I can can spy on who my husband talks to all night." Also, maybe it is the fact that I've had a couple drinks over the course of the evening, but the juke box tends to get LOUD by the end of the night. Man alive, it is hard to have a conversation by the end of the festivities at Andy's. All in all, this is one of my favorite bars in Red Wing. The location on Old West Main is another thing that makes Kelly's special. There's a wonderful view toward the river and the railroad tracks, and I love just sitting there watching the trains go by and taking in the scenery. It has that unmistakable Red Wing atmosphere that makes the whole experience even better. Great food, great service, a beautiful setting, and consistency every time I've been there. I cannot recommend Kelly's highly enough. If you haven't been there, you're missing one of Red Wing's gems.

They did have a big ass fan on (that's the brand name I believe ) but it was on so low- you could not feel it. We all ordered drinks and only my husband was asked if he wanted a refill (family of 6 here). Our waitress never checked on us to ask how the food was until she asked if we were ready for our bill. My oldest son ordered a pizza with banana peppers, mushrooms, and pepperoni, and instead he got a pizza with green peppers, no mushrooms, and a little bit of pepperoni. My husband ordered a burger which he said was dry and so dry in fact he had to remove part of his bun (he is NOT a picky eater). I ordered a Rachel. My sandwich was incredibly dry and the only reason I almost finished it was because there was no way I was letting a 15.00 sandwich go to waste.... My oldest daughter ordered a cheese quesadilla and it was comparable to something she could have made herself (age 9) and thrown in the microwave. My youngest daughter (age 3) ordered a grilled cheese and it was so bad that she refused to eat it. I tried it and it tasted like wax. Velveeta cheese does not make a good grilled cheese especially when it's cold by the time you get to eat it. It was inedible, we ended up throwing it away. The only person who got decent food was my second son who ordered a 12" pepperoni pizza. He said it was pretty good. I will say this place serves "bar food". We will not be returning. The waitress did take the messed up pizza off of our bill (we appreciated that) but, if she had checked up on us earlier, he could have just had a new one made... I fully understand that it was busy, but it's still not an excuse for poor service and bad food. I have worked in restaurants from low end to high end, so I know how it works. What really pushed me over the edge was an experience I had a year ago. My friends and I had made our way down to Carbones to buy some wings from their promotional event. During our time there we had waited for 30 min...then another 30 min and then another 30 min! Eventually, we got up and approached our waiter to ask where our food was. We were told that it would only be a little bit more time. So we waited about 30 more minutes and finally our food came out. To our surprise the wings that we ordered were all undercooked. When mentioning this to our waiter, and thus the general manager, she seemed very, VERY annoyed with us. Keep in mind that we had been waiting for about two hours. The general manager immediately snapped back asking what was the problem with food, even though it was obvious that they forgot about us and rushed our order (thus the raw wings). rather than admitting that they were undercooked, she said she would make us an order again more to our "liking" if you can't believe it, this isn't even the worst part of our experience! . When it came time to pay the bill we were informed the credit card service was off-line and we had to make a cash payment. We didn't know what to do because we did not have cash. The general manager came and informed us that we had to go to an ATM and withdraw cash. However, she made it very, very clear that we were not allowed to all go together, implying that we were going to try to "steal the food" and by implying, I mean, she said that , "You better not all leave, one of you has to stay". What made me so upset about this interaction is that we were the ONLY people of color inside of the restaurant and she did not have the same tone of voice or language with any of the other customers AT ALL! I paid very close attention to how she spoke to the other customers. It was not our fault that their credit card service went down, but the fact that she demanded that one of us stay while someone had to go to the ATM was so disrespectful. Keep in mind this was the manager saying this! We had been to Carbones multiple times before this, and we always tipped! It seems there was only 1 reason for her to treat us like this.... We ended up sending one person out to the ATM to collect cash and STILL left a tip because it was the manager treating us poorly not our waiter. Would not recommend this place to anyone!
