Based on my expectations for a small town bar and grills this place earns five stars! Our Bloody Mary's were good, tasted a lot like Zing Zang, but were good sized, featured two olives and a pickle spear, and were under $6. The Boneless Chicken Wings were the star! These were clearly made in-house from fresh chopped up chicken breasts, lightly coated in breading (not at all heavy or greasy!) and were amazingly juicy. I order boneless wings at many restaurants in the Twin Cities and have not ever had "wings" like this without the bone and not processed like a nugget. To top it off the bartender was really welcoming, very attentive to our needs, and all around pleasant. Stop here, you won't regret it!

That gives me a little insight into what makes a good restaurant, in addition to being a bit of a chef myself. My first time at Muddy Waters. A very cozy place with an impressive patio. The service was impeccable and very professional. Jessica really paid attention to every detail. Now, on to the bar. Unfortunately, I don't know the bartender's name. She made an absolutely delicious Manhattan--and I know a thing or two about Manhattans. When my lovely guest ordered a Sangria, it was almost an earthquake. I say this because in all restaurants--except in Spain and other countries that know how to make it--here in my country, they don't know how to make it. Sangria comes from the word "sangre," meaning "blood," which is red--unless you're royalty with blue blood. Just kidding! Everyone makes it with white wine and chopped fruit. In Argentina, that's called "Clericot," which comes from the English term "Claret Cup." Anyway, my congratulations to the excellent Lady bartender, who created a red sangria, her own way--delicious, refreshing, and very flavorful. Remember, sangria is drunk in Spain, mostly in places like Seville in the summer to enjoy that Andalusian sun. We ordered the Baked Brie. We thought we were going to get a dish just like all the ones we've tried at other restaurants--bought at the market and baked. This Baked Brie, however, is fantastic: custom-made and stuffed. I won't tell my readers what's inside--you'll have to go try it for yourselves. In a word: authentic, creative, and delicious. Another thing worth highlighting is the pork chop. Perfectly grilled. Very hard to find out there. Most of the time, it's dry and chewy. A suggestion, the Rack Ribs, I would cook them on the BBQ sauce. They were a little dry. I skipped dessert--I'm saving that for my next visit. See you soon...

Can't wait to come back and enjoy the patio with my entire family this summer. Ambiance 5/5. Outdated decor just like all VFWs, but this one has AMAZING views of the Mississippi River, so the ugly furniture doesn't even matter anymore. Free and plentiful parking never hurts either. Food 4/5. Broasted chicken was perfect with bubbly crispy skin and tender meat! Sides were okay, but not as good. Next time, I'll get chicken only. The mashed potatoes and gravy came as a generous portion. It also came with some baked beans and coleslaw. Service 5/5. Great service too. I just wanted to get some chicken to take home, but my server said it was a 20 minute wait for Broasted Chicken and offered me a complimentary soda to enjoy while I waited. We ended up ordering the Korean Stir Fry and the Mexican Tuna Roll Sushi, and both were absolutely phenomenal. The Korean Stir Fry was an easy 10/10, and the Mexican Tuna Roll Sushi was one of the best and most unique dishes I've had in a long time. LOVEDD! Our service was attentive, fast, and genuinely friendly. The bartenders and staff were all welcoming and made the experience even better. It's CLEAR they take pride in both their food and hospitality. The worst we have ever had. There was only a few flecks of cheese. Very dry. I asked for extra cheese sauce and they gave me a small amount that was very thin. The Philly Mac had very dry beef with no discernable flavor. Higher priced for poor food.

Overall, it seems like the kind of place that works well as a practical stop if you're traveling, need a quick drink, or just want somewhere casual to sit for a bit and use the restroom.
