This is a little gem in our cities!! I'm not a runner but I still need good shoes for walking/working out. Their staff here really take the time to understand your feet (watching you walk/run and also using awesome technology) to help you find the best shoes for your feet/body. I'm a St Paul girl so was a little bummed when they turned Saint City Running into Mill City Running to help with their overall branding. Same stores just different names. I can forgive them for this and will still shop here. LOL!! They also sell apparel, accessories and running nutritional support. Mill city also offers very active run clubs if you're interested This is a busy location/area so parking can be tough but it's worth it!! Prices are on par with everywhere else and with the service you receive, it's the place to go!! read more

The store formerly known as Saint City Running (now Mill City Highland) is an awesome part of the Twin Cities running community. They hold free group runs for local runners and host run clubs frequently. I love that they have some Saint Paul-specific clothes that you can't find anywhere else. The store has a good variety of clothes and shoes from popular and newer running brands, and the staff is very helpful when it comes to picking new shoes and even bras! They also have a nice locker-room like space downstairs for you to store things during group runs. A great place to support if you are looking to shop local! read more

I absolutely love Saint City running. My wife and I come here almost weekly for their Monday Night runs up the Mississippi River Road. That alone gets them an A+ in my book but it's even better when you come in to shop for their products. Their staff is out of this world. They'll give you the full running assessment, doing the foot scan and having you run on a treadmill so they can check out your pronation. Then they'll recommend the right type of shoe for your running form. They've got almost all the products a regular runner could want at pretty consistent prices. The only catch is they pretty much stick to premium gear. I get it, this hobby has alot of enthusiasts and most people are willing to drop a bit of cash on the right gear to keep you safe and comfortable on your runs. I'm just calling it out because I wouldn't recommend this place for the friend who wants the $5 hydration pack from Amazon, but it they want the high quality pack that will typically last alot longer and be way more comfortable then this is the place to go! read more

What a wonderful group of people. This place makes you want to shop local more often. They are dedicated to the running lifestyle and have a great selection of shoes, clothes, nutrition, etc. and the staff is very nice and knowledgeable as well. This helps if you know nothing about running, like me. What I really like is how they foster a sense of community through their shop runs. I have never done a run like this before and found it was very well organized in terms of pace groups, routes, starting on time, etc. I had no idea what to expect and I had a great experience. Running is much better in a group and I highly recommend adding SCR to your shopping and running routine. read more

Sister to Mill City Running, Saint City is a gorgeous and awesome spot to get running gear. Support small and local folks!! This place is both of those things, and you won't find more supportive or helpful staff anywhere else! Especially if you're a new runner, they'll help you get set up with shoes and whatever gear you're interested in, Not only that, but the clothing and shoes they do have are such good quality and very cute. I find my best running pieces here. I often struggle to find cute running clothes, but this place alwayssss has good options. It's on the spendy side, but hey it's high quality, local, and cute so it's worth it. Definitely stop by!!!! read more

I went to Saint City Running in need of some new running shoes after not running for a while. They have a whole fitting process and look at how you walk barefoot, measure your feet with a scanner, and then have you try on some shoes and run on a treadmill. I was able to try on different types of shoes that best fit my feet and thought the process was really good so I could make sure I found shoes that worked for me. I would recommend Saint City Running to anyone looking for shoes, clothes, or running accessories! The staff was amazing and welcoming to help you find exactly what you need. I will never buy running shoes anywhere else so long as this store is open! I had an amazing experience this morning when I brought in my shoes which had several treads coming off after a few months of use. I don't know the young man's name who helped me, but he allowed an exchange of the shoes outside of the normal window because of a possible defect. I wasn't expecting that to happen and it was so nice to be taken care of like that. Got a gift certificate for here from my wife and used it to check this place out. Last time I was in this space it was the Cleveland Wok and wow. So different. Super friendly service. Felt very taken care of. I will say that parts of the experience felt very gimmicky. I appreciate observing my walk to find the right kind of shoe, but the bells and whistles around the 360 degree foot analyzer thingy to upsell me inserts was a low point. Prices in line with what I paid elsewhere. COVID protocols were on point, I felt safe. I probably will end up going back to my usual place (Run and Fun) because there isn't the upsell pressure. read more

If you love Mill City Running or running at all I would highly recommend checking out the new Saint Paul Location. I came in looking for winter running gear and found everything I needed. Staff is amazing, friendly and knowledgeable about all things running. They have a very thorough shoe fitting if you want to do that, or they can just offer up some good recommendations based on what your looking for. They have dressing rooms and a treadmill for trying out all the gear. They also have a good selection of accessories including socks, rollers, gels and other running accessories. Beautiful clean new space and very helpful and relatable staff. I would recommend anyone looking for a good shoe to go here. I, a novice runner, was able to ask a lot of questions and learn about shoes in general to make an informed purchase. Meanwhile, another guest who used a walker also got a great experience from what I could tell. If you're thinking of shopping online to save a buck, they have loyalty rewards that are equivalent to over 10% ($25 per $200). We were visiting from out of town and stopped by to get our college student son fitted for running shoes. We've spent decades buying running competition shoes for our kids. This visit however, way exceeded our expectations. Heather was so knowledgeable about the sport of running, had a keen eye for gait and foot placement, best of all she listened and paid attention to the customer.
