My wife used to hate it when I stop until I got her a 22cal revolver and now she carries a 357mag revolver or my 38 special and now she always asks if we are going to stop) LOL and we have to go to a range almost once a month! Thanks Joes, now she enjoys shooting as much as I do and she can now outshoot me and has a permit to carry and keeps a gun on her or at least in her car. You set her up with a 380 but she likes a little bit larger handgun. And the prices are unbelievably low on new and used guns. she also let me buy a 44mag and she likes to soot that too. I have to keep telling her that we have enough guns! See that you started Joe's! She won't shop anywhere else for guns!

So instead of buying 100$+ if ammo I thanked him for his lack of interest in my business and left. If u dont look "the part" u might be treated as a waste of time.

That shop's manager has now opened Lake State Mountaineering with similar wares and similar values. So we're talking high quality canoeing, climbing, camping, and hiking gear from a combination of large, small, and local vendors. They have a website you can order from, but if you want to browse in person and get knowledgeable advice from this passionate crew, you can pop into the shop. They have some pretty high-end merchandise, but I'm seeing some tempting sale offers and they have a rental program that might help you get kitted out for an adventure. This storefront location might be tricky to find at first. Enter through the building's Washington Avenue door, next to the barber shop, then follow the signs through the door there and up the stairs, where you'll spot them. I promise there's a nice store up there! You're on your own for parking but it's easy enough to find metered street parking. If you want to properly gear up for this kind of activity and want the best equipment, sold to you be a locally-owned store who will give you honest recommendations that come from deep experience, this is where to go.

They also carry high quality gear like marmot and Patagonia and those are not excluded from sale which is a rarity. They had a pretty large selection as always; in varying states of condition. I wasn't struck by anything much but then there it was - a sweet, almost new,Timbuk2 bag. I took it to the counter and made an offer of about 20% less than then we're asking. They accepted as I guessed they would. They're always quite generous. The woman who usually does the excellent work on the repairs that I bring in approached the counter. She started searching my new bag looking for the sternum strap that she knew should go with it. She couldn't find it so guess what she did? She went to the sewing machine and made one for me. It was perfect; useful the first time out. I asked how much she wanted for the strap she had just made me from scratch. "Nothing" she said. "It goes with the bag." This is so typical of my experiences at the Lair. They do great work. They're friendly and generous. I recommend them highly and I tell all my friends about them. Thanks for the the great service Repair Lair!

The price I ended up paying was slightly lower than the price quoted, in part because of a cash discount. I might have gotten a new backpack for the price of the repair, but then I would have been stuck with a useless backpack. Also, there's a good chance that a new backpack would be poorer quality. I'm so glad my spouse spotted this little shop while we were driving down Minnehaha!

If you're not a runner, that doesn't mean this store isn't for you. But if you are, I think you'll find all that you need here! (Including those gross sucrose gel packets) For me, I'm on my feet all day for work as a scientist, and I've bought the past 4 pairs of shoes here, and I've had no complaints! The staff are very knowledgeable, so let them know your concerns (plantar fasciitis? More/less cushion? Over-pronated/supinated?) When it comes to the value, you get what you pay for. They're able to charge under market value, but they can still be expensive. With this in mind, they do have a generous sales room where shoes can be ~$20-40 off (I haven't been there often enough to know how the sales change, so I might be off). All in all, I highly recommend this place for your next sneaker purchase, athlete or not.
