The first time I try, their food was actually my friends meal prep meal and I was so shocked that it was healthy, but tasted extremely delicious. It's been over a year now that I have been with Local Foodz and I plan on having them as my meal prep company for life. I love how you can customize your meals to your own liking and lifestyle. If you're on a clean bulk, on a cut or calorie deficit, or if you just want healthy meals readily available in your fridge. My personal favorite dishes are their: - Beef Bulgoi with 2 Veggie Fritters with their ginger sauce - Ground Beef with Cauliflower Grits and spinach with their cheese or cream of mushroom sauce - Hainan Chicken Thighs - Mongolian Beef - Shrimp & Gritz - Salmon with Spinch and cream of mushroom and rice The lists goes on and on I also really love how they have the nutritional facts on the meal prep box and you can see exactly what is in your food from protein, carbohydrates and fat to all the ingredients and nutritional information. There is a reason why this company has been around for over 10 years now. The food is delicious and it's also very delicious.

They have a huge variety of fresh stuff. But cooking it always the same: put it in a pan for 4 minutes. I have it to a science, I can cook it while getting other stuff ready... its done, wipe the pan and cleanup is done too. I have tried several other services, they are more expensive and not as convenient. Thistle delivers twice a week, so the meals are very fresh. You don't need alot of preservatives when the food if fresh. And their sauces give it flavor w/o a bunch of salt or fat. I don't write many reviews, but I want to tell the world about this little gem. Eat up!

The food was decent, but the packaging was a dealbreaker. Every single item comes in a non-reusable plastic container. Even setting aside environmental concerns, the sheer volume of waste was unmanageable: my garbage goes out every other week and was already full. The cost also didn't pencil out. Even with the discount, Thistle ran more than what I currently spend eating out for the same number of meals, and it didn't reduce my grocery bill either.

I was so impressed with the delivery service, and my kit arrived in a nice insulated reusable Kitchen Doula bag. The hearty soups and stews came in so clutch for me during those early newborn days and long nights at 3am, when feeding time for baby came around and I was starvvvvinggg (and cold scurrying down to my kitchen in the odd hours of the night). I loved the nourishing cock-a-leek soup paired with a side of the plain biscuits...my husband and I were practically rushing to beat the other to the last serving of it because it was so nourishing and yummy (of course, I always got the seconds). We had a variety of the other staple soups, and I appreciate how diverse the options are on their site...you can't get bored with the selections. A couple years later, I have found myself riding the waves of the cold/flu season (which seems to keep cycling back in our household especially with a toddler in preschool passing germs back and forth), and I am needing to have nourishing, fresh, and warming soups to help bring comfort...and Kitchen Doula, we meet again! This is now my go-to recommendation for new mamas, parents, or peeps, just needing to find some relief in the food they eat, in a way that feels good to put into your body and to spend your money on.
