My friend picked up this huge dubai pistachio knafeli cookie for me to try and it was quite heavenly. As someone who doesn't like eating cookies, this was phenomenol. The edges were crispy while the inside was soft and gooey. All the ingredients in it were quite healthy and I felt like I was in culinary heaven. Each bite left me wanting more. Highly recommend this place as their cookies are quite satisfying.

I admit I was a bit skeptical when I paid $7 for what seemed to be a very flat chocolate chip cookie. But I love trying anything in Dubai chocolate style so I had to get it anyway. I was so pleasantly surprised at how chewy this was, despite seeming so thin and almost crispy! The inside was indeed stuffed with the kataifi and recognizable Dubai chocolate (pistachio) flavor. I felt ashamed for underestimating this perfectly round little cookie!

What's the perfect follow up to a Friday ramen takeout pickup? Dessert, but of course. As I turned the corner on to Kearny Street, I noticed this tiny stand just off the corner (https://www.yelp.com/user_local_photos?userid=saJuyv784apZzH--psHZ3Q&select=js8-lgdVnE2QkEaZWJiMQg). I remember this space being where a watch repair shop that I often stopped to change batteries or address other issues (Thank you, David). Seeing the stand-up sign on the sidewalk, I decided to pick up a few things. In looking at this table, I did not see peanut butter so I asked the young gentleman who told me that it was not available. I pivoted and tried the toffee chocolate chip cookie and chocolate chip cookie (https://www.yelp.com/user_local_photos?userid=saJuyv784apZzH--psHZ3Q&select=QB6eKtLkBxKuaIletJksRg). I first tried the toffee chocolate which was good and went well with my glass of sugarless iced tea. The toffee flavor is on the subtle side. Later in the week, I ate the chocolate chip cookie with a glass of ice water for breakfast. I liked that the freshness lasted for those days. Though I enjoyed the cookies, it's really difficult for me to squeeze that 5th star out. I was spoiled with the heydays of Mrs. Field's Cookies when she opened her first retail location only three blocks away on Pine Street. The cookies would come out temperature hot and, when they packed them in bags (baker's dozen of 13 for $4.00.... I KNOW!), you could smell the butter and see the oil/grease stain the white wax bag. But boy were they delicious. Solid cookie spot and I hope to try the peanut butter cookie when I walk by again.

A small cookie place across from Portsmouth Square Park. Tried the Dubai pistachio knafeh cookie. My first time having something Dubai chocolate/Dubai chocolate inspired. It was too sweet for me. The texture was interesting though, a good crisp from the knafeh dough. Could have used a heavier pistachio taste. It is a high end cookie, so expect the price tag that comes with it.

I decided to give Cookie Chachi a try when I saw their stand at the Prescott Night Market in West Oakland. I got the Dubai knafeh pistachio which I thought was pretty good, it was sweet but still had a nice amount of flavor. Neither too soft or too hard. Would recommend giving them a try, thought the cookies are a little expensive ($7) so it is a treat.

A very tiny shop selling a few flavors of soft baked cookies. You just order at the counter you cannot go inside. Currently if you have the DoorDash app and you select, "going out" you can get five dollars off a cookie. They have cookies for $5.50. This is a great offer to try a new cookie. On this day, I tried the cardamom and date cookie and I really like it. It is spiced really well and the cookie is soft with a bit of a chew. It's also not too sweet.

Don't sleep on this cookie spot! Located at the corner of Kearny & Clay in Chinatown, Cookie Chachi has some of the best cookies I have had. Got the classic chocolate chip & Dubai pistachio Knafeh, both delicious in their own way. Love the crunchy outside & chewy inside. Service is friendly & it's a fast casual spot that does take away orders. Planning to come back for their Jalebi & Cardamom/Date south Asian flavors!

    Fun for children as well.

A Cookie Monster would definitely love the cookie brand opposite to Portsmouth Playground! But he has no idea that different ingredients Cookie Chachi made with love was clean and ecologically sourced. I been so crazy about Cookie Chachi when I got passed it as I rode a bus with my mom. So this time, I went to quickly both the Dubai Knafeh Pistachio and a can of Sinwise Farms masala chai. They perfectly pair well with each other like Middle Eastern buddies! This set of refreshments were never to disappoint and I highly likely to come back since Cookie Chachi is one of the special places near Chinatown.

This spot was a pain to get to in the middle of Chinatown, but my cookie did not disappoint! We got the toffee chocolate chip and it was super chewy and had the right amount of salt. They have a lot of other unique flavors as well. However, I do think 5.50 for one cookie is a little steep.

    Vinkin Ken T.

Really nice owner. Their cookies are made from the night before and are individually sealed. Each cookie is $5.50 except for the Dubai inspired as that's $7. If you've had Dubai chocolate before you will be disappointed by this cookie. I had to wonder if they packaged the wrong cookie because it just tasted like a salted chocolate chip cookie. There was no crunch from the kataifi and no taste of any pistachio cream. I also tried their cardamom and date cookie and that was good. I love cardamom and really enjoyed it.

they have south asian inspired cookies, we tried the cardamom date cookie--it was very strong in cardamom and the inside was soft but outside held up so not bad. wish they were baked fresh though

Love how cute the packaging is!

I arrived at the bakery before it opened on a weekend morning, and there were already a couple of brave souls in line. I waited only about 25 minutes for the bakery to open, and once doors officially opened to customers, I was in and out in no time with my fresh pastries in hand. I enjoyed my almond croissant as soon as I got back home, and now I fully understand why Arsicault is at the top of everyone's SF bakery list. The almond croissant was still warm, the inside struck the perfect balance between fluffy and gooey (from the almond paste), and the exterior was nicely crisped. The almond filling is super rich and decadent yet not overly sweet. I also noticed - and appreciate - how Arsicault's almond croissant doesn't include toasted almonds on top, since these can often get over-baked and taste bitter. I definitely agree this is one of the best pastries in SF now.

I definitely feel like the team implementing the 7:45AM start time to line up has helped a lot. Not only is it better for the neighbors, but it also makes the whole experience feel a lot less chaotic compared to showing up super early and scrambling to get in line. Everything feels much calmer and organized now. As for the pastries: To be honest, it really depends on what you like. I'm one that gravitates towards pretty much anything with meat and chocolate. Because of that, most of their savory/meaty and creamy pastries are always a must for me. They're super flaky, flavorful and decadent. You can really tell how much time and effort they put into making everything as high quality as possible, especially since you can see them making everything from the window while waiting in line. All in all, I think there's been a lot of improvement over the past year with some trial and error. Their pastries have always been delicious and I personally think it's worth the wait. I recommend getting to the area closer to 7:45AM so you have a better chance of being towards the front of the line. If not, it's still better to come before opening, I just wouldn't recommend getting there right before they open. By then it's not guaranteed that you'll get everything you want since they do run out depending on how many people are there.

I've been here a few times and this time I remembered to take photos of the pastries before digging in! We tried the ube twice-baked croissant, ham and cheese croissant, curry potato bourek, and the spicy chicken pepper sausage croissant. I also love that they offer unique pastries you don't find at most bakeries. The café itself is small and cozy, and the staff were warm and friendly. It's usually packed, but we arrived at the perfect time and were able to grab everything we wanted before they sold out. We'll definitely be back to try more of their delicious pastries!

My husband got in line while I waited outside. It's on the first floor of the Japan Center Malls and easy to find in the corner. While the line was long it moved quickly and we ended up ordering two drinks and a few pastries. We had the drinks right away and I enjoyed their honeycomb toffee latte ($8.25) while my husband ordered a flavored lemonade. The Honeycomb latte wasn't overly sweet and the honeycomb on top was a nice treat. The honeycomb itself was sweet and crunchy and you can either pick it out and eat it or stir it into your drink and let it melt. The lemonade my husband ordered was on the sweeter side, but was super refreshing for summer. If you like sweet you'll like this- if you prefer less sweet or tart it may not be for you. We also brought home a few of their pastries. All of them were fresh and well made. The basque cheesecake was creamy and satisfying without being overly sweet. The chocolate chip cookie had dark chocolate and was really rich and satisfying. The last pastry I forget the name of but it was like a cinnamon roll but with an orange glaze and some cocoa powder, this one was also delicious and not overly sweet. Drove home 50 minutes away from here expecting all is well. As soon as my daughter opened the box of her goodies, 1 chewy cookie was missing!
