After a short email exchange, we spoke on the phone to communicate order specifics and to ensure she understood my "vision." And boy, did she come through! I already had a good sense of her decorating skills, but since there were no other reviews, I really did not know what to expect in terms of flavor. I ordered a tres leche cake with dulce de leche filling, and it frikken delicious!! The cake was perfectly moist, and the flavor of the filling was well balanced with the cake - which with this flavor combo can be overly sweet. The biggest positive for Connie's is that everything is consistent. I've ordered numerous cakes from her and it's been good every time. Also the taste is far better than the swill that you would get for a cake at Giant, Redners, or Weis. The only downside to the store is that there is no parking at all. There are only a couple of metered street spaces and once those are gone you are either parking a block or two away or need to go into a parking deck. Connie's is the perfect mix of taste and value.
