I called Terry at the suggestion of my dad, and he came out and told me none of that stuff the first company said was right, and he literally fixed the whole unit by propping the pan up with a stick. He was so honest and didn't try to scam me or make me buy expensive parts I didn't need. I thought--this is the guy I want taking care of my unit for life. A few months later, the unit stopped cooling altogether. He came out and immediately knew the problem was a busted motor on the fan in the outdoor condenser unit. He put a rescue fan on it until a new part could be ordered and installed. He never pushed me to buy a new unit, but when I asked him if I should, he didn't say yes or no--he just laid out the numbers and the facts for me so I could make my own decision. It didn't make financial sense to me to throw hundreds of dollars at parts on a 20 year old unit, so I asked for pricing for a new unit. He blew me away with what he quoted me--it was MUCH less than I was expecting. I asked him to install it and he did--and now I have a brand new unit that actually cools the upstairs of my house and not just the downstairs (like the old unit did.) I couldn't be more thrilled! I called Ashley and Michael immediately answered. He found the issue (condenser motor) and did some research on the part. He found that the part was still under warranty and called filed the warranty paperwork for us. He got the part replaced under warranty and only charged for his labor. I got the part number and nowhere, and I mean nowhere sells the same part for price! That's like a 1500% mark up (math may not be correct)! I asked about a Senior discount as I'm over 65..and no they don't. I won't ever use this company, nor refer anyone to this company. What really ticks me off is that it was in the cooler part of the year. I really don't like to give a bad review to any company, but this aggression will not stand, man!

When they left we would never have known they were here other than the fact the house was cool instead of sweltering. They have a web-based bidding system which made it very easy to see what they were offering us and what exactly we would be getting. They came out for a second visit to look at other options and were very complete with their explanations.

Thank goodness I picked Jade Air for my third, and final estimate. Aric (the owner's nephew) came out and immediately said that the problem was that the connectors needed to be replaced. For under $500, my connectors were replaced, my unit (inside and out) were thoroughly cleaned and serviced, and the Freon was topped off. In addition, Gilbert, the owner, said if I had problems in the near future, and needed to replace my unit, the money I'd spent would be applied to my new purchase. Win-win. To top that off, I was having what I thought was an electrical problem since the last rainstorm. One circuit wasn't working and flipping my breakers hadn't fixed the issue. I mentioned it to Aric and he checked the breaker box (testing all of the switches) and spent time looking around my house to try to determine the cause. Turns out one of the GFCI switches was off. Aric saved me the cost (and time!) of having an electrician come out and find this simple solution. I was his last call at the end of the day, so the fact that he was determined to help me was extraordinary. This is a family-owner business and they are extremely personable and trustworthy. Call them, you won't be sorry. You can I'll be using and recommending Jade Air for HVAC needs from now on!!!
