A peaceful hidden getaway tucked away in Big Bear…read more I stayed at cabin #7 and the cabins looked exactly like the online photos. I came in the middle of October and even though the property was packed, I hardly saw my neighbors during my stay. I appreciate the interior of the cabins that made me want to book in the first place! The cabin itself was very clean, the kitchen had everything you needed (yes including coffee!), and the home was stocked with extra blankets and pillows. BONUS that it had a washer and dryer inside! The property is within walking distance to downtown and nearby eateries. I also had my own designated parking spot too. Although it was very chilly, I didn't use the community hot tub, but I did spend some time at the bonfire pit at the center of the property. Things of Improvement: This is my personal take, but perhaps some art prints on the walls and some privacy on the patio and near the bedroom window. Other than that, I'll be back!

What I noticed about the location of this cabin was that it was further away from the heavy tourist areas but close enough to grocery stores, restaurants and shops. So if you are looking for peace and quiet this is the perfect getaway from the everyday stresses of life. This cabin includes a living room with a cute fireplace, a small but full kitchen with a eating area, full bathroom (water pressure is good and it heats up pretty quickly), a bedroom with a closet, access to the backyard, a front porch and a cozy loft with a flatscreen TV that I didn't touch once. I was primarily there solo to detox from the busy life of Los Angeles and not to ski since I was there beginning of May. Snuggle Bear Cabin had everything I needed to detox. I laid out my yoga mat and meditation pillow upstairs in the loft and it had an inviting view of tall trees out the window. It was a perfect environment to reflect on life, letting all creative juices flow, read and write. The solitude was exceptionally welcome. The final full day that I was there, my boyfriend came up to join me. And really...all we did was snuggle. The property is a duplex, which is not clearly stated in the listing. Parking is very limited and tight, though that alone would not have been a deal breaker. The main issue was the host's behavior. There are numerous exterior cameras, and the host appeared to monitor our movements and conversations in real time. He contacted us repeatedly during the stay about minor or non-issues, which felt intrusive and unsettling. At one point, he also attempted to send a separate contract outside of Airbnb's platform, which made us very uncomfortable. The home lacks basic functionality for guests--there is no practical storage for clothing (no drawers or adequate closet space), making it difficult for a family stay. The space felt more decorative than livable. After checkout, the host attempted to charge us hundreds of dollars in additional fees, including claims related to unlaundered towels and a piece of broken glass that we never used. These claims felt excessive and unjustified. Additionally, the location is quite far from the main Big Bear attractions, requiring about a 20-minute drive to reach most restaurants, shops, or activities. Overall, the experience was stressful due to the lack of privacy, excessive monitoring, and post-stay fee disputes. I would strongly caution future guests, especially families, to be aware of these issues before booking.

Each room has the most comfortable beds. Kitchen is stocked with all the dishes cooking ware and coffee you'll need. Fire-pit is the best. Overall a wonderful place. I was amazed by how beautiful and tranquil Wrightwood is, and by how much this house felt like "home" while I was there. The owners know the area really well, and are a wealth of information. They are also very interesting and fun to hang out with, especially if you're going up there by yourself, like I did. All in all, my stay at Mt. High was a wonderful experience and I will certainly be back! Oh, I should also mention that my bed was VERY comfortable, the house feels warm and cozy like a cabin in the woods should, and it is very quiet up there. Also, there is a deck with a bench swing where I could sit, have tea, and meditate. Honestly, I don't know what more anyone can ask for.

I njoy my snow-board and not in the mood to drive up to Big Bear (and spend twice the money on gas, food etc) - so Wrightwood is my all time fav spot when it snows. Oh I also figured out over the years that when it rains in LA it snows in Wrightwood. It's not "scientifically accurate" but that's just what I noticed. Anyways, I just got myself a cool fast two seater so now I have an excuse to get out of LA traffic any chance I get... so I ended up in Wrightwood since Hwy 2 is right there (awesome drive, curves etc). So I decided to spend the night and drive some more the next day... well, since I stayed here before in the winter, and had a great experience, I figured I'll give them a shot and see if they accept guests in the summer time... well, i was welcomes (once again) in open arms with a friendly smile. Same warm home even without the snow outside - KOOL. I had a great local pizza for dinner and a great night of sleep, allowing me to hit the road in the AM and cruise. Now that I have the roadster for summer time, I know I'll be back for more visits both summer and winter. I also know where I can stay all year long! Very clean, organized and friendly home. Great value - can't beat that (not even close). Oh, on a side note, I arrived to Wrightwood on Friday PM (after work) and found that there is a really cool Farmers Market in town. Worth checking out as well. Oh, another side note, I noticed Highway Patrol hiding on Hwy 2 in the section between the 138 and Wrightwood, so keep it slow in that section ;-)

You can actually hear (faintly) people parking their cars on the street right next to Manker Flat (area where the campers camp). To actually get to the cabin, you'll prob do best with an all-wheel drive that has some ground clearance. The "drive way" is a much like a trail path w a very good incline and lots of roots, rocks and a dip or two along the way. Once at the cabin, there is a flat area for parking, about 3 cars fit. Cabin - Absolutely stunning! A old-time cabin that was been updated with a modern flare inside. Full bathroom with a barefoot claw tub (great for soaking)! The towel rack is a heated on so your towel will be dry in no time. The unit has a full kitchen, dishwasher, gas grill and a multi unit washer/ dryer combo inside. The living room has a full size leather sofa, round ottoman and chase, very inviting! There's a queen size bed in the unit with windows that will over look your car. Total privacy - you wont see any neighbors and they wont see you. CAUTION - What you will hear is bears or raccoons scratching on the unit in the am! (that's what I heard at 330am) The big kicker is the outside porch with views right into the mountains - BREATH TAKING! I had a very positive interactions with Patrick and Loretta! They were awesome communicators and very informative of the location and what to bring and what not to bring. Def - Do business with these folks! They will not steer you in the wrong direction.
