Great place been going there since I was 5 years old really sad it's now closing down.

No A/C makes it difficult to enjoy your own thoughts/reading/conversations because you have to have the windows open! Also the whole property needs to be upgraded! It's worn down and needs upkeep. The map they give to the pool is completely WRONG! The surroundings are beautiful and the temperatures in the evenings are nice, but it's hard to read or watch tv with all the noisy neighbors! And for some reason some units have garages and others don't! We did not get to have one but I don't know why. There seems to be quite a discrepancy between units. Also, only one car per unit is provided with a parking space and any other cars have to park quite a ways away! Because of Covid they had removed all games and books and movies. The unit looks pretty clean but the bathtub upstairs needs some elbow grease and a Mr. Clean eraser! It's dirty! TV channels are very limited and the screen in the living room is TINY!! After spending a week there I still feel they need a lot of upgrading- faucets, fixtures need replacing. The flow of water from the shower head was terrible!! Needs new shower heads and more pressure! The walkway down to the parking needed repairs and the railings needed some scrubbing! We couldn't use the fireplace which was a bummer. It did get quite cool a couple evenings we were there in August. It would have been nice. The kitchen is very tiny but seemed to have all that you would need. We ate out for dinner since two people really couldn't be in the kitchen at the same time! Overall it was an ok space, but with Lake Arrowhead being a private Lake, I'd go somewhere else. We rented a 2 bedroom condo for a weekend wedding we were attending. It was spacious and comfortable with 4 adults and a child. The unit was older but very clean and cozy. Having two bathrooms was a lifesaver. There was lots of seating and made for a great time catching up with friends. Check in was a little confusing because the office isn't in the same location as the units and they gave us a confusing map to follow. I think providing an address as well would have been helpful but it wasn't a big issue. The complex was quiet with lots of trees. My daughter thought it smelled like "Christmas". If our plans took us to that area again, we wouldn't hesitate to stay there again! Especially after hearing horror stories of friends who stayed in other nearby motels... we really lucked out, especially for the price! read more

I stayed here when I was about 13 with my family during the spring time. This time I come as a grown man with my family for the in the winter for the snow! It's similar to how I remember, stayed in a more convenient chalet this time. Check in is easy but not in the same area as where the timeshares are located. You first must drive to the Lake Arrowhead Village to find the check in office. It will be on the upper level, directly across from Stater Bros Market, just under the CLOCKTOWER. After getting our keys, gate clicker and welcome pack, we headed up to find our unit. This trips chalet was much more convenient than what I remember from what I was a kid, and some of these reviews. While the majority of the chalets must be accessed by steep stairs, we lucked out and got a lower level chalet with only one flight of stairs and a parking garage! After unloading and parking in our garage spot, the kids and inspected the unit. Awesome two story unit with 2 bedrooms, 1.5 bath. The .5 bath doubles as a laundry room with washer and dryer. The first bedroom is furnished with a dresser and two twins, perfect for the kids. But of course they want to sleep on the sofa bed downstairs. The master comes furnished with a dresser, a cal king and Samsung flatscreen on the wall. Bed was comfier than most places I've stayed. Love the cabin feel of the living room with the stone fireplace. You have firewood delivered as well. Comes furnished with two chairs and a sofa bed. Wall mounted Samsung flatscreen and a Toshiba DVD player to play your own dvds you can bring. Kitchen was nicer than I expected from the reviews I looked at. Fully equipped kitchen, gas stove and oven, pots pans and glass dishes for baking. Dishwasher worked well but it doesn't quit fit in the space so the door was a little awkward to close and seal. That would be my only complaint. We came for the snow and snow there was! Right up the walking path, towards the clubhouse we found a hill to sled and tube down. This meant no driving and finding a place or paying for a park entry fee. We stayed at Unit 147 using my friend's timeshare points. Finding the office was a chore. When you first drive up from Highway 189, you see a sign that says Lake Arrowhead Village. However, ignore the hotel looking village to your left because that is a different entity all together. The office is on the east side. The easiest way to look for the office is look for a McDonalds because it is adjacent to it. Also, the office is located on the lower village. If you see Stater Bros., you are at the upper village.....find a road that leads to the lower section and look for McDonalds! Checkin was easy, although you get thumped with a cleaning fee of $56 bucks. Honestly, I think that real hotel service is way better. We spent a few hours cleaning all the dishes and throwing out the trash. There is a blue box that you can drop off your keys at Unit 118 for checkout. The Unit itself was bare bones. The ceiling fan and light above the dining area did not work. Checkout is at 10am but that was not an issue as we left directly for Big Bear to go snowboarding. If you are planning to go when it is snowing, bring a portable shovel and ice pick because you will need it to get out of the premises. Also, if it has snowed, you will need to put snow chains on to get over the steep portion of the chalet driveway. read more

GOOD= our cabin was super clean and Comfy and very spacious. The kitchen was fully equipped , microwave, Stove with oven & Dishwasher. We had a 3 bedroom rooms were good size. BAD= PARKING!! Omg!! There was no parking close to our building , There's construction going on so its not as nice on the outside due to that. UGLY= STAIRS STAIRS N MORE STAIRS .. We walked UP N DOWN WAY TO MANY STAIRS !!! Going up to our chalet was a couple of stairs ways , inside going from first to the top was more stairs then going from the top the kids room Even stairs The ugliest part was and reason for not receiving 5 stars was due to the parking space that our #321 had ,We had to park below the building in front of us and walk Down the longest sets of stairs .. No need to hike if you stay here you get all the work out with the millions of stairs :) read more

We spent 5 nights in unit 116. It's an older place that we got through RCI. There are lots of stairs, a washer and dryer inside a half bath on the first floor with a tiny kitchen, dining area and good-sized living room. There are two bedrooms and a full bathroom on the second floor. The master bedroom is very large with an excessively large closet...plenty of space for another bathroom with another shower. That's what is really lacking, especially when there are two couples! The housekeeping staff was friendly and helpful; however, the carpet was so dirty that my feet were black from being barefoot. The carpet isn't the only thing that needs replacing. None of the sliding screen doors work well and all are bent. read more

For having a million different dos and donts we found the place to lack a few conveniences. Check in is listed at 4pm and yet the office closes at 4pm. This both makes it difficult if you have any questions regarding your unit (the on call 'manager' is not helpful) and also means that the next morning if you planned an early morning start or day in big bear you can't because you have to go check in after 9am or your key deactivates. The apartment was freezing, the fire place would not work properly and the oven was insanely difficult to turn off after you turned it on. Yet again, if you called the after hours number (we called at 4:45 upon arriving) the person who answers says they are only avail for emergencies and can't help with anything else. Cozy! Cozy! Cozy! We've been staying at Lake Arrowhead Chalets for the last 3 visits...mostly each January to enjoy the snow. It's not luxurious but it's just warm and comfortable enough for a little family retreat. It's like a small apartment with a bbq grill on the deck. There's a laundry room right next to the downstairs bathroom. Kitchen with the basics. The perfect place to spend some nice family time. Again, nothing luxurious but very nice! Keep in mind you need to drive to The Village first for check in. (Where Stater Bros. Is) people in the office is always nice and accommodating. Never had a problem before. Also is a short drive from Big Bear. Can't wait to be back! read more

Huge two story townhome equipped with a full functioning kitchen, two bedrooms and an upstairs loft, washer/dryer, huge living room as well. It has a very obvious cabin-y feel to it, wood panels, very comfy setting. read more

First off, I haven't even checked in yet. I called the office on the phone to ask where do I check in? She was very rude and put me on hold. She then answered thinking I had hung up and I was like "I was talking to someone" and she said oh yeah me. She said I had to come into the office which is located somewhere else. She didn't even give me the address. I asked well where is it. She said in front of the stater bros. As if I knew where that is! I arrive to the address she gave me. She says check in isn't till 4pm, when clearly it says check in is at 3pm in the Airbnb website! I said well the information on there is incorrect, they should update it. So now I have to wait for an hour to check in, with a rude ass person. I give it one star because zero stars isn't an option! read more

I love this place. The property is well maintained, the staff is professional and responsive, and the location is perfect. These condominiums are close enough to walk to the village, but secluded enough to get that mountain cabin feel. It is within driving distance of Big Bear for skiing. All of the units have a huge fireplace. A great value any time of the year! Be forewarned - there are a LOT of stairs, especially from the parking lot to the units, but you can pull your car up to the front door to unpack as long as you are considerate of anyone else trying to bring their car in at the same time. read more

I stayed here for a week. In have stayed at better places. First, there are too many stairs up and down to access your cabin. Second, of the two rooms, only one had a TV. Third, the drinking glasses provided in the pantry are tiny. Third, the bedroom without the TV only had access to one wall outlet, so plugging you appliances is difficult of you have more than two. Fourth, the electrical outlets in the main bathroom did not work. Fifth, The toilets are too close to the walls, so sitting on them is a challenge. Now,try to locate the pool and hot tub? My goodness. You almost need a GPS to find it. It is not on the premises. Trying to get then knob in the shower to give you hot water is a challenge. The inside of the cabins are old and dated, yet they are clean. I guess this is what you get in a crowded mountain community. No night life either! Luck for me I met some locals and had a blast hanging out with them. read more

Room 313 3 room condo sleeps 8 with a fully equipped kitchen... blah blah blah Stayed for one night... $200 We used the hell outta their water and electricity haha The dryer was very useful given we arrived under heavy rain. Kitchen was better equipped than I thoguht... if you plan to cook, bring your own spices. The knives ain't too good. There's no cutting board. Oven broiler didn't work. We woke up late because we played board games all night; called the peeps in the office asked for some extra time before check-out; they gave us an extra hour :) They are pretty lenient in regards of pre check out requirements... I would give 2.5 stars if I could... Lake Arrowhead Chalets are two story condos. This is my third time staying here. It will also be my last, given the increased availability of rentals in Arrowhead available through places like air bnb... Pros: The condos are reasonably priced and clean with a well equipped kitchen and an outdoor barbecue. We had a three bedroom, and there was plenty of room for our family of five. The setup allows for privacy since the condos are two story. Cons: Parking is a bit of a hike up quite a few stairs, which was not a huge deal for us, but for anyone with mobility issues, this place would not be a good choice. Our TV didn't work well, and the basic cable reception is a joke- extremely fuzzy reception!! Best to rent a video or bring your fire stick if you plan on using the TV. One of the most annoying issues about this place is the fact that in the summer, the condos get very warm inside (no AC) BUT, there are VERY bright flood lights that shine DIRECTLY into the bedroom windows, so you don't really have the option to have your windows open at night to get any air unless you want those lights in your eyes. Finally, Denise at the front desk is just not a very nice person. We were here for 4th of July weekend, and naturally we wanted to sit on the lake shore (which the Chalets advertise access to!!) I asked Denise what was the best way to access the lake without having to fight the crowds in the Village. She was rude and snotty and could barely be bothered to tell me. Needless to say, this is not the best personality type to have as the face of your company that relies on tourism and hospitality!! On the other hand, Cameron was cheerful and helpful and happy to answer any and all of our questions. Thanks Cameron!! All in all, if you are looking for a no frills place to stay in Arrowhead, this may fit the bill, but if you're looking for something more luxurious, keep looking! read more

Good place if you are just looking for a place to crash for a night and don't care about the amenities or details. Kitchen is old! Dish drying rack is dirty. Even the "remodeled" bathroom was falling apart. No air conditioning, tho they provide fans. The fan was broken. We had a week booked and left after one night. read more

The front desk women is the most rudest person to be in the hospitality industry. It seems this person is accustomed to treating people poorly. The phone was answered like I was calling her house in the middle of the night, the call was placed at 11:48am. I called to get directions, our GPS wasn't working, and you would think she was NOT being paid to provide this kind of information. She will argue with to make you feel like this your bad attitude and she makes it known as to, why are you calling because check in isn't till 4pm. The directions she does give are horrible, if you lived here you know how the businesses are situated, but being out of town and unfamiliar with the area its confusing. There are upper and lower parking lots in the village, the office is located across from Staters Brothers grocery store on the UPPER LEVEL, next to the elevators. When we arrived she was giving us dirty looks like a scolded child, this person needs psychological help. I worked retail as a kid, I understand how hard it can be to deal with different perspectives/personalities, I try not to give bad reviews, if something goes bad usually I just don't write anything and let things go, but this was absolutely HORRIBLE treatment and nearly $200 a night, the house was nice but the beds are to firm. I did not sleep comfortably at all, my hips were hurting me, my shoulders were burning. The house was very clean and organized. Parking isn't convenient, you have to park and then walk back up to the house. It's a clean and quiet townhouse environment. The location to the village is great, it's a 3-5 minute drive. read more

Lovely Location and plenty of stairs This is a little older resort, but they are doing updates and maintenance. The majority of the units have a good number of stairs, there are roads to drop off stuff but parking is below. This is not a problem, but you should have it in mind. Club house has a pool table and ping pong. They could use a hot tub but they have a spa. The rooms have all the needed amenities and equipment for basic cooking. Spices and anything special you need to bring but good working stove, microwave with dishwashers. We came in the winter just before Christmas with some snow and rain but it was fine. I am sure summers are great. Not far from the village and the restruants and stores. They have a dock if you are bringing a boat. Give them a shot read more

I was at the Lake Arrowhead Chalets for 4th of July weekend...a looong 4 day weekend. The pool was disgusting, we went to swim on Friday afternoon and found we could not because someone had left human feces in the pool and not enough seating. No maintenance personnel could be found...we just left and did not return. My next yelp is at the grounds...we had to tip toe thought the cigarette buttes to go anywhere. The garbage dumpsters are inadequate with piles of raw garbage piled up and hanging out of the dumpsters, a real stinker. Inadequate parking is a problem...People were parked in front of our space and we constantly had to ask them to move so we could get in or out. It seems nobody "works" there on the weekends or holidays. It's dumpy and dirty and unkempt to say the least. Sad but true. read more

Stayed in an upgraded/remodeled 2BR/1.5BA condo for a few days in a gated community setting. The rooms are clean, small kitchen, living room with wood-burning fireplace & flat screen Sharp TV, modest shower/tub bathroom, no A/C but there is central heat, full size washer/dryer, and ample room to unpack luggage in the bedrooms. Our unit has a deck with BBQ and picnic table. Very quiet, but I think there are only 15-20 people staying here currently. The parking is easy/close. The only complaint I have is that the pool is not open yet, but it's 80 degrees outside. I think it opens for Memorial Day weekend. The condos are very close to the village, and not too far from most restaurants in the area. The closest grocery store is in the village (Stater Bros). read more

The units are smallish, we stayed in a two bedroom, up&down. The kitchen was a nightmare, extremely small, you had to move the dining chairs and table to get by to get in there. Only one person could be in there at a time. When the dishwasher was open, people had to move out of the way. The TV was 720p lo-res with limited cable channels. There were three deck chairs despite beds for four people. Overall the place was clean, but dated. The parking is below, requiring you to drive up a one way drive and unload your bags, then go back down, park your car and hike back up to the unit using hundreds of stairs or the longer wind around driveway. Not for the mobility challenged. There was a washer dryer which would have been great had we needed it. We only stayed three nights. All the soft furnishings need replacement, rugs, etc. read more

Love the accommodations. We had 5 of us (2 families) in a 3 bedroom unit In July 2016. The unit was updated (they should update their website pictures - bedding is updated, counters, etc). We had EVERYTHING we needed in the unit. I think this is the best supply-stocked condo I have ever stayed in. We didn't end up staying the full week - not much to do in Lake Arrowhead...all private. The Beach Club pass you get is to a very small beach for small children. We had a great time at Lake Gregory Recreation Area, and did a day boating in Big Bear. read more

Not fancy but clean and perfect for our family of four. 2 large bedrooms, full kitchen. 2 TVs. WiFI. Comfortable living room.large balconies. We were only there in the evening. Skiing at snow valley all day. We enjoyed shopping and dinning in arrowhead village( 1 mile away). I recommend the Belgian waffle place! I am so glad we did not stay in a hotel. read more
