This place was so fun ! Perfect little getaway. The room was clean and quiet. The showers were freezing. There was a hiking spot literally across the street from the cabins that was easy to use. The views were beautiful. Local restaurants were delicious and the locals were polite. The property manager was so helpful and gave us lots of suggestions for things to do and places to eat. Check in was quick and easy. They have a fire pit that was beautiful to sit when the sunset. They have a little axe throwing section and cornhole that was fun to play with. For one night, I rented a standalone small house. It was near the main road, but the noise did not bother me. Short drive to the Village. The owner has an 8" telescope and may let you look through it on a clear night! There is an apple tree west of the houses; if you ask permission in September, they may let you pick some apples. A few issues: Wi-Fi usually works but tends to disconnect especially if the resort is full. Shower ran out of hot water, perhaps a heater issue. The manager is very welcoming and nice! The cabin provided a very peaceful and quiet place for a good night's rest. It was clean and has a smart tv that can connect to apps like Netflix (using your account) and also a water boiler which I rarely see in American hotel rooms! There's also a nice pool that is rectangular shaped and good for swimming some laps. Would definitely recommend for a stay in big bear. read more

*Pros- Overall the stay was pretty good. Ulysses at the front desk was a great help! When my wife and I checked in we did not have any firewood and he not only gave us for some firewood, he even carried it to the room for us! He was more than helpful! The cabin was nice and upgraded with new cabinets, countertops, flooring, & carpet throughout the cabin. *Cons- When we used the fireplace, the smoke did not all go up it, but rather spilled into the room and we had to open the front door to let the smoke out. I double checked the flu and it was indeed open and there was smoke coming out the top of the chimney. This most likely is due to the inside at the chimney needing to be bored out and cleaned so the smoke can be drawn out of the fireplace and not go into the living room. I also noticed when using the toilet and leaned over,.. the toilet leaned with me lifting off the floor. Apparently it was not bolted to the floor. Valentine's day weekend we decided to come to Big Bear. We booked through Expedia since I had some points to use. We had such an awesome stay here. The resort is super close to everything. The staff at this placed rocked! They were friendly and very helpful even with our 120 pound German Shepherd. They let us use a brand new can opener when we happened to mention we needed to get one. The resort itself is an adorable, peaceful and well kept resort with cabins ranging from studios to two floor cabins. The resort has benches,little bridges, swings, fire pits, pools/jacuzzis and bbq grills and even a tether ball lol in case you bring a big group and want to stay in. The cabin was spacious, very clean and cozy. Even though the weather outside reached some pretty cold temperatures we didn't even notice till the next morning that cars were frozen. Each Cabin has its own parking next the cabin. The lake is so close by that you can take a short relaxing walk to it. I always appreciate places that are well kept, have awesome customer service and treat any of my fur babies with love! Staff would not return calls or messages (I called about 2 dozen times the week leading up to my stay and never once received an answer). Staff Informed me I could check in at 11, but when I showed up at 11 it appeared I woke someone up in the office and he was very rude and told me I couldn't check in. I showed him the email saying I could check in at 11 and he just told me to leave. I then continued to call and email since I made plans around the 11 check in, eventually I got a response saying I could come back in an hour. I waited in the parking lot the entire time, no one working there went near the room I was staying in so clearly the room was ready, but they didn't want to check me in. I reserved the most expensive suite and I was surprised at the note on the fridge saying that " All trash and dishes must be done or I will receive a $100 charge". This is insane to have guest have to take out any trash when they are already paying for a room. I don't believe in leaving a room messy, but charging guest $100 if they leave in trash in the trash cans is ABSURD! read more

This was a perfect place for a getaway for my husband, myself and our two fur babies. Online booking was easy with no secret fees. Staff was hospitable upon arrival and for the duration of our stay. Super quiet and clean ground. There is plenty of benches, grills, firepits, gazebo, and pool to enjoy if you stay on property. The cottage itself was just perfect! High ceilings which gives an open feel, newly updated appliances and furniture. Loved that the place is fully furnished so you literally just show up with your personal items and can stock up at the little grocery store in the area. They even had salt and pepper shakers and coffee in the room. We felt completely safe as we saw there is plenty of surveillance in the area. I traveled with my family and small dog. I picked this place because they are pet friendly and we wanted a cabin instead of a hotel. It did not disappoint! You get to park right next to your cabin which is super convenient, it's close to restaurants, stores and the city but you still get a great view. The grounds are super cute, management was very friendly and our cabin was super clean. Our cabin had a fireplace, wood floors in the living room, carpeted bedroom, futon couch, the kitchen has dishes, a coffee machine, microwave, fridge, stove and more. I went on a ski trip with my husband, Jackie A. and her husband and another couple this past weekend. We chose this place because of the reviews on Yelp but when I went to the website, the rooms and the photos stated for itself that this place is nice. This was perfect for 3 couples, so we all agreed on a cabin and it was booked. We checked in here after a day of skiing and got to relaxing. It wasn't a far drive from Snow Summit and when we arrived, it wasn't a bad location at all and rather easy to find. We got 107 and it's 1 bedroom downstairs and an upstairs bedroom with 2 beds, as well as a full kitchen and a bathroom. The place was very cozy, yet modern and had a cabin feel to it and a nice fireplace you noticed right away when you walk in. It was cute and it near everything, including little restaurants, shops, etc. When we first checked in and got to relaxing, we got a phone call from the front office asking if we needed anything. I think that was really nice and had a personal touch to the whole experience. The bathroom was nice and the shower was a little confusing with the hot water being labeled cold, but we figured it out fast. The place is very accurate to what you see on the website and even though we only stayed a night, I thought this was a great deal, splitting the cost between 3 couples, this wasn't a bad price at all! We rented cabin 125 for the weekend, and it was exactly what I expected. When it comes to accommodations, I look for a bed with white sheets and a white comforter. Otherwise, how will I know that the sheets are clean? I scoured Yelp for an affordable cabin that had white sheets and a white comforter, and Bay Meadows was one of the few that offered both items. When we arrived, we were greeted by a friendly female and male. They were both very helpful and gave us a map of Big Bear Lake and told us about all the big events happening that weekend. We had no idea that there was an Oktoberfest festival, so we were very grateful that the manager was knowledgeable about local events. There's a swimming pool and sauna at the resort; however, I didn't use either one so I can't comment on the quality of the experience. There are several grills and picnic areas on the property, so feel free to bring your own food for a BBQ! P.S. They have Tom's toothpaste! Gentle on your teeth and your gums! read more

Stayed here, this past weekend - Saturday night - in Cabin 124. For the most part, I really enjoyed this place. The staff was very nice, and they call in the early evening to do a check to ask if there is anything you need. Staying here in the "off season", AKA not Winter, it was a bit warm. The cabin was mostly clean, there were a few things on the floor I stepped on after taking off my shoes, and there were quite a few bugs on the top of the windows in the kitchen... that I never would have noticed but due to the weather, I wanted all of the windows open - to get some air in the place. This cabin has a wood burning fireplace, that we used, even though it was warm. There is a refrigerator, however it was turned all the way down... so anything we put it there didnt really get cold for a while. We had neighbors in all three cabins that were part of this four cabin building. They were all quiet, which was nice. This cabin is across from the pool as well. Made me wish I had a bathing suit with me. In the evening, I noticed some ants in the kitchen - we did not have any food out, so that was a bummer... and there was no bug spray. I guess I will just list some Pros and Cons for Unit 124: Pros: Cozy place for two (Maybe too crowded with 2 children as they suggest) Cute little deck out back Quiet Woodburning Fireplace Very friendly staff Fridge / Microwave / Hairdryer / Toaster / Coffee Maker Cons: One side of the sofa is missing the cushioning in the back part, so its awkward to sit on one side of the small couch. Very warm in the Summer - no fans in the bedroom Even with all windows open there is no cross breeze No bug spray for the ants we had Bathroom window was broken, and would not prop open I would stay here again, just possibly a different cabin, and if its during Summer, I will bring a fan for sure. read more

Do NOT do it! Seriously, do NOT do it unless you want to be paying for therapy bills for the next decade or so. We choose this place because of the indoor hot tub. We did our due diligence and cleaned the hot tub thoroughly with Lysol spray and Lysol wipes before we went boating. We got back later in the evening, sprayed and wiped it down again before rinsing it with only hot water. Once the tub was partially full, I sat in it as it continued to fill. Before the person who was with me got in they turned on the jets. I saw something out of the corner of my eye and said something. They laughed because they thought I was joking until I literally screamed. Coming out of the jets were insects, insect wings and what looked like hair--pray that it was NOT pubic hair. They helped me get out of the jacuzzi tub as quickly as possible and I spent the next hour of so scrubbing under scarlet hot water. We tried to sleep but we both were right traumatized and grossed out. We left as soon as the sun came up. Our trip was ruined. Absolutely ruined. We've contacted the hotel, which we booked through Air B & B, but they refuse to do the right thing and refund us. Do not book through Air B & B, it is a rip off and the "cleaning fee" is laughable. If you aren't interested in the jacuzzi tub this place may be for you but keep in mind if they aren't cleaning the jacuzzi tub, WHAT ELSE aren't they cleaning! I really liked the cabins here. They were the perfect accommodations for my family of 3. The winning part of the experience was Ulysses (the guy at front desk). He was very happy, friendly, and checked in on us to see if we needed anything else. Cabin area was nice a quiet. Our unit had a little private patio. We were right across the pool so it was nice to easy to access. I called ahead about cleanliness regarding COVID, and it was decent. We did take an extra step by lysol spraying surfaces before allowing the kid to enter. Not going to nit-pick the room because I do need to take in consideration the location (I'm surrounded by nature!) The floors were a bit dirty, it's obvious that they vacuum but not mop. But it is a cultural thing about people taking their shoes off. Overall, great location. It's close to town and getting to everything. Nothing too far away. Quiet area. Great Staff. Especially dealing with Covid it was nice to access the pool and having access to it to ourselves the entire time! (We got real lucky) read more

Had a great stay at Bay Meadows Resort this weekend. It was the perfect place for me, my husband, and our dog on our first trip to Big Bear. The location is convenient, easy to find, and the property is very well-kept. There is an area with picnic tables and a fire pit, and a lot of room for our dog to run around in the morning. I love that you can park next to your room. We stayed in a small cabin, which was very clean. It had a kitchenette, table for two, and an adorable fireplace. It was the perfect size for us. One big plus was how well the heater work, because I am easily cold. The owner is amazing! He was so friendly, warm, and attentive. Good place to stay on a whim. Staff was friendly but being a tourist to the area, the times that everything opens and closes in Big Bear is really different. Check in isn't until 3 pm and offices open at 8 am. I was offered unit 121 which was comfortable but a little outdated. Also, there's NO hot water whatsoever during my stay. I let the water run for a few and it's ice cold. Not sure if it was just this unit or if it's the entire property. Given how cold it is up here during the winter, I assume they'd have all that looked at before someone stays in the unit. Overall, it was a good place to stay for one-night. I would probably look to stay elsewhere with working hot water to shower in the mornings next time though. read more

Beware of this property, a complete sham. I called and booked a one night stay, after we both discussed the terms and cancellation policy, a guy named Ulises booked my reservation. As soon as I surrendered my credit card info, this guy immediately changed the terms of cancellation from 24 hours prior to arrival to 5 days, which gave me exactly 24 hours to decide. I immediately told him to cancel, upon hearing my decision, he then told me he could "work with me" and agreed to change it to 1 day prior to arrival. Based on this, I went ahead and let him booked my reservation. Upon completion, I asked that he sent confirmation via text to my phone since he refused to accept my email. Having waited the whole day without hearing from him, I called back but I got a voicemail this time. I called back again an hour later to follow up, again it went straight to their voicemail. I immediately texted my cancellation for my record, my text came back as undeliverable so it is obvious the number was their office line. The next day, I had a friend called pretending to make a reservation, they immediately picked up her call. I immediately called the same reservation number, but again, it went straight to their voicemail. An hour later this guy Ulises called me back and apologized and made pathetic excuses as to why they couldn't pick up my calls. After hearing my ordeals, he now asked for my email to he can send me confirmation of cancellation. I should have gone with my instinct from the get go, I have been traveling for over 35 years, this guy is bad news. Any hotel establishments who refused to send out confirmation of booking is shady. Protect yourself and demand for your confirmation, if you don't, you will be held responsible for the booking, good luck with trying to explain to your credit card company even though you are clearly a victim. read more

This place is adorable! So affordable for my little midweek getaway. 20 min from snow valley, 10 min from snow summit and 15 min from bear mountain. Lots of places to eat close by but they also have a mini fridge with freezer, microwave, coffee machine and hot water kettle in the standard queen room. (Mine also had a working fireplace in the room which I was very excited about. Gave my the feel of having my own little lodge without the price. Their dog policy is also great. At the time of my stay it was just a one time charge of $30. As others have stated the room was very very clean so no worries there. The staff is also super friendly. After a long day of skiing with friends, we rented a cabin at Bay Meadows for the evening. Thanks to Cindy W.'s yelp skills, she found this amazing place. I must say the website did not do this place justice. This place looks better in person. (I think they should hire Cindy W. to retake the photos of the cabins.) This cabin was a home away from home. It was cozy and comfy enough for 6. This cabin had all the features of home. The kitchen was fully stocked with all the basic kitchen appliances, dishes, utensils, and pots & pans. It had a small living room, bathroom, and 2 bedrooms with multiple queen size beds. It even had the flat screen television for our viewing pleasure. Bay Meadows deserves 5 stars in my book. They offer friendly accomdations. Their front desk was kind enough to check up on us shortly after we checked in. The cabins are roomy and spotless. There was amply hot water everyone's shower. The cabins were not too tiny where you were bumping into people. This place is the perfect place to stay when you visit Big Bear. It is not too far from all the excitement of Big Bear. FYI....When my hubby tried to book the room their was an issue with the website, he called Bay Meadows directly and was able to get a cheaper rate. #100!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Wooooowhoooo! Alright, I was saving my 100th review for something special, and here it is! Virak R. and I came to Bay Meadows to celebrate our 10 year wedding anniversary, so I thought it was very appropriate for Bay Meadows to be my 100th. Unfortunately this is going to be a bi-polar review. I was so divided on how many stars to give this place. Here is the good and the bad. We had cabin #106. The Good: 1. CLEAN! This place is immaculate! The person who cleaned this place is suffering from OCD and I am loving every square inch of it! 2. This particular cabin is perfect for someone in a wheelchair. My husband and I met while volunteering with children and young adults in wheelchairs so we know an accessible place when we see it. The doors slide in and out, there is an accessible shower with a bench and the drawers in the kitchen are low as well as part of the kitchen counter. 4. The staff is very kind! Natalia (I believe that was her name) made a special trip by our cabin with Rex (a BIG beautiful dog) to visit with our 6 year old. 5. The cabin was the perfect size for our family (2 adults and 2 small children) If you have children above the age of 7 I would recommend one of their larger cabins. 6. Convenient! Very close to the village, about a 5 minute drive and the parking was super easy. There is a park within walking distance to fish, unfortunately it was closed for construction the weekend we were there. The Bad: 1. No fireplace in 106. What is a cabin in the woods with no fireplace? 2. The alarm in the cabin next to us (105) went off EVERY night at 12:05am. We had to call the front desk each time and ask for them to take care of it. No one was staying there and they never bothered to hit reset, so it went off every night. And no, there was no restitution offered. The morning we left we got an, "oh by the way, sorry about the alarm each night". 3. The morning we left, there was an unexpected snow storm. We weren't sure that we could make it home and asked what the rate was in case we needed to turn around and stay again. The rate they offered was the same as a Saturday night. Are you serious?! Because the cabin right next to you offered me a $55 for the night....Bay Meadows offered us $138 for a SUNDAY night. 4. Everything was shut down! The tether ball court had no ball, the pool was empty (which I understand due to the weather) and the fire pit was covered. They could have at least ran the fire pit. I was wondering when the Mystery Machine was going to roll up so we could accuse the innkeeper of disguising himself as a zombie and haunting this ghost town. So when all is said and done, I would give Bay Meadows another shot. I think I would stay during the winter, but would book #108 because that cabin has a fireplace, a view of the lake and it isn't connected to another cabin. read more

Bay Meadows Resort is hands down the best place to stay in Big Bear. This place doesn't look that nice from outside; however, each unit is nicely decorated and very clean. I am very picky about selecting a place to stay. I could not find a decent place in Big Bear. This was one of reasons that I don't spend a night in Big Bear. This is neither Four Season nor Ritzs. I enjoyed staying at this place & the price is very reasonable. Stay here if you want to spend a night in Big Bear and not paying too much! BTW, our room was 105. Another awesome stay at Bay Meadows. We rented Cabin 103 again - it was just as clean and nice as it was 3 years ago. The onsite management are always so friendly and helpful. We enjoyed the pool, the swing, the basketball hoop (just ask them for the ball at the front desk), the sauna, and we really enjoyed eating meals on our patio. The resort is in a great location and very quiet and peaceful. Its close to the road, but its never bothered us nor can we hear the cars from our cabin. Still wishing they'd install in room safes and get sharper knives. We did a lot of cooking and they have some pretty dull and flimsy knives. But overall we can't complain, this is a favorite place to stay and we love it there. See you all again in a year or two! read more

Nice little cabins near Big Bear Lake. A short walk from the parking lot will lead you toward a clearing which is next to one of the lake inlets. Cabins themselves are pretty nicely kept. Very clean inside. No issues with hot water or bugs or mold. Check in was a pleasant experience. Kitchen had some utensils in it, and I think it had cooking stuff as well. Parking was convenient, although if you have multiple cars and it's crowded that day, it might be an issue. Small issues: - Heater is inside the living room, so it takes a while for the heat to circulate through the entire space - Wi-Fi doesn't really work if your cabin is far away from the others - Wood flooring can be slippery I booked online through Expedia and was charged a $20 online booking fee. I was told that you can avoid that by booking directly through them. read more

Nice and clean , and the staff made it happen for us so we're a fan. The Manager Kevin is about as customer service helpful as Ive come across. We used the Jacuzzi and Sauna as well , which were clean and obviously relaxing. Not a ton of frills if you're a hotel snob , but they have a very nice set up and make it easy to come back. read more
