I was I was looking for a nail place that stays open late and came across Milano. They stay open until 9pm! The place is huge inside, 2 walls of chairs for pedicures and lots of nail stations. Greeted as soon as I walked in and even though I did not receive the confirmation for the online appointment I booked, they had me scheduled, took me early and I added in a manicure for my 8yo. This was a Friday around 6:30pm. I got the Express regular predicure and a gel manicure. Overall service was fast and I was satisfied. I appreciated the extra steps the nail tech took to match the color I picked. Initially it looked totally different from the nail sample when she opened the bottle so she double checked with me and found a better color. It's those little details that will make me return and they were very sweet with my 8yo. Pricing is comparable to other nail places and they do everything. I had a really upsetting experience at Milano Nails, mainly because of incorrect information and very poor customer service. I brought my own gel polish because I'm pregnant and wanted to avoid an ingredient called TPO. I explained this clearly. The nail tech told me the top coat I brought wasn't the right one and said she had a TPO-free top coat. She even said she looked it up and confirmed the Beatles Shiny Top Coat didn't contain TPO, so I trusted her. A few days later, I found out that product does contain TPO and even has a warning for pregnant women. That was extremely concerning. When I called the salon to have the gel removed and asked for a refund (since the product was misrepresented), they still wanted to charge me for regular polish and wouldn't refund the gel manicure. The manager, Tina, said she would call me back but instead sent a text saying offices were closed and offering only to remove the polish. I tried calling to speak with her, was told she was too busy, and was put on hold for over 30 minutes. The call was eventually disconnected. I waited 10 minutes, then called back and it went straight to voicemail. After that, I called again from a different number -- someone answered, seemed to realize who was calling, and then immediately put me on hold again. When I called back, the receptionist said she didn't realize the call had been disconnected, I simply asked for a refund, since I had been going back and forth with the salon for almost two hours. Again, the line got disconnected after 20 minutes and no one ever followed up with me. I tried to call back and again it went to voicemail. Now, anytime I call, whether from my number or the other number, it goes to voicemail. This could have been handled so much better, especially since it involved a pregnancy-related concern. Instead, I felt dismissed and ignored. Mistakes happen, but how you handle them matters -- and this was handled very poorly. Very disappointing experience and worst customer service I've encountered at a nail salon. As a manager, Tina showed little concern for client safety or satisfaction. read more

It's hard for me to rate this but here it goes... I really appreciate having my pedicure and manicure done here however, the tech I had made me feel unwelcomed. She never said hi or was interested in making me feel comfortable. She did do an amazing job with ensuring my cuticles were trimmed well (kinda got rough at some points) and when one of my toe nails was ruined from not being fully dried (no UV light used), she fixed it. Although I think she noticed it before I did and tried to hurry and put on my sandal so I wouldn't notice which is besides the point. One of my pet peeves is the quality of care provided in the package you get with pedicures which includes a massage. I barely felt the massage completed by my tech. If they don't want to take the time to put in the work for a massage, I think the company should cut the price and drop any massage. However, since it is a part of the package then I would love the massage to be done with care. I am not Including the name of my nail tech because I don't think that's fair. But I hope any and all staff could take the time and truly value the work they do. A lot of people come in there looking forward to the experience after a long day at work and/ or life. We value the work nail techs do and need you more than you may realize. Please don't rush me out the door. And please understand I will still tip you pretty good regardless of how you treat me. Terrible absolutely ruined my real nails. I've been going here for about 4 months and they ruined my real nails. They all use the drills way too much and my toe nails are so thin they HURT!! Just touching the tops of my toe nail is so tender because the nail has been drilled so thin!! Same with my fingernails. I've had all different techs so I can't blame it on any one unfortunately. They also don't do real dip. I've had dip done here once and they just use a powder once and then paint over the "dip" with gel. I saw that Milano Nails opened up during my last trip to the plaza it's located in off of St Rose and Maryland. I had some time on a Friday afternoon and was long overdue for self care so I called and they were able to get me in within the hour. When I arrived, I was greeted and asked to check in on the iPad for their loyalty program. I was also asked if I'd like a beverage from their refrigerator which had sodas and bottled water. Luna started me off with my pedicure. She was friendly and made great conversation. She gave me a menu of their services and I selected the deluxe pedicure with honey scrub, mask, and lotion. Luna did a great job of shaping my toenails and asked if I had any concerns or areas on my feet or legs that needed special attention. My pedicure was relaxing in their massage chair which also has a charging port. After she was done, I waited until Tina came over to take me to a chair for my nails. Tina shaped my nails into almond shape and was very meticulous in making sure the shape matched on both hands and all fingers. I went with a hybrid gel manicure which I had never had before. It was a bit of a long process for the application but Tina was so nice to ask if I was okay and thanked me for my patience. She made sure I loved my nails, the shape, and the color before I left. They were running a 20% off special on services when I went which was a really good deal. I'll definitely return for my future manicure and pedicure needs. Milano is a recently opened nail shop, first impressions, clean, relaxing and comparable to other nails shops around, they are offering 20% off of services I believe until the end of the month. 1/2 : I had a very disappointing experience at this salon and will not be returning. I came in needing a regular manicure and an acrylic soak-off. I was quoted $28 for the manicure and an additional $10 for the soak-off, which I agreed to. However, instead of soaking my acrylics off, the technician began forcibly popping them off. During the removal process, one of my natural nails was damaged to the point that it bled because part of my actual nail came off with the acrylic. I was never asked if I was okay with this removal method, nor was it the service I requested. If I had wanted my nails popped off, I could have done that myself at home. I also asked for a very simple flower design with regular polish and was told that any design required gel polish, so I declined and proceeded with a basic manicure. The most frustrating part came when it was time to pay. I was charged for both the manicure and the soak-off, despite never receiving the soak-off service I requested. I explained that I was willing to pay for the manicure but not for a soak-off that was never performed. Instead of addressing my concerns professionally, an employee loudly announced across the salon that I "didn't want to pay" and was "walking out," even though I was standing at the counter trying to pay for the services I actually received. When I explained that my nail had been injured during removal, I was told that popping nails off is simply their removal process. The staff then attempted to explain what a soak-off was, despite the fact that I specifically requested one from the beginning. What disappointed me most was not just the damage to my nail, but the lack of communication, professionalism, and customer service when I raised a legitimate concern. I left payment for the manicure and left the salon feeling disrespected and unheard. Unfortunately, based on this experience, I will not be returning. 2/2 Replying back to owner : Thank you for your response. I appreciate that you took the time to review the footage and discuss the situation with your staff. However, there are a few points I would like to clarify. My concern was never about being charged for "removal" versus "soak-off" based on wording. My concern is that I specifically requested a soak-off service and did not receive one. Instead, my acrylics were forcibly popped off without my consent or any discussion about alternative removal methods. Whether that is your salon's standard removal process or not, customers should be informed and given the opportunity to choose how their nails are removed, especially when different methods can affect the health of the natural nail. You state that the technician was unaware that I was unhappy because I did not express it during the service. Unfortunately, when a customer places trust in a licensed professional, they may not immediately realize that the service being performed differs from what was requested until damage has already occurred. The fact that you acknowledge technicians should begin asking customers what removal service they prefer reinforces my concern that this communication should have happened from the start. Regarding the injury, I understand that camera footage may not clearly capture the condition of a fingernail. The fact remains that my natural nail was damaged during the removal process. My review reflects my personal experience and the condition of my nail after the appointment. As for the payment dispute, I never refused to pay for services I received. I was attempting to resolve a concern regarding a service that was requested but not performed as expected. Being publicly characterized as someone who "didn't want to pay" was embarrassing and contributed significantly to my negative experience. Alright y'all... get this. I booked a nail appointment three weeks in advance for my fiancée so she'd be all set for our engagement party. We even tried calling them FOUR times this week to double-check everything--and not once did they pick up. Total silence. Then, right as she's about to leave, they send a confirmation text saying "Just a reminder! Your appointment is at 11am." Cool, right?
