A small airport but it seemed to have all the things you'd expect: bank, post office (where time stands still), restaurants, newsagents, car hire etc. I think it's the closest to Milan and UK smokers will rejoice in the relative novelty of indoor smoking booths. Those two things are pretty unrelated. Anyway, a good portal to a great city but nothing to write home about. read more

#58-2016: If you need to use Linate for internal flights, you have my empathy. If you need to catch and international flight, I wouldn't want to he in your shoes. If you chose this airport due to its proximity to the city, you may want to take into account traffic. Though it is true that Linate is WAY closer to Milan than its cousin Malpensa, unfortunately there STILL is no solid and fast public transportation connection. I may reconsider my final score once MM4 opens up its ambitious connection, but until then... no way José! There is a urban bus taking you (if traffic doesn't prove too chaotic) from S. Babila square on to departures (bus 73 express), though you may want to allot up to 40 minutes for this option and, forget about it if you have huge luggage for it is still partially an in-town bus. Once you arrive at the airport, it is way easier to navigate than most (fairly small hub), security isn't as strict as it's fellow hub (Malpensa), the shopping options are extremely limited and hours of operations render this airport almost impossible to lay over night (you may wanna head back into town if that is even an option). All in all, I can't find a reason to give more than 2 stars... read more

Small airport. If the airlines lose your luggage, I wish you patience... The office handling lost luggage claims is slow, understaffed and the process takes too long (we waited several hours, thanks Lufthansa!!!). In general, airport is marked well and tidy. Access from the city is easy. Had a panini and OJ at the cafe and was very happy! Customs office is located on the second floor if you will get back your VAT. Overall, it has all the convenience of a small airport. The views before landing is breathtaking and hotels close-by are decent. read more

Both Milan airport are the worse airports I have been to. very small and not self intuitive. The check-in is far from the security check point and we were told by security guard that we are required to check in the luggage when others with bigger luggage in front of us were let in. Do not use the PREMIER TAX FREE tax refund service in Linate Airport. The lady working was rude and omitted information on fees and forced us to take a hit on the tax refund. One of the worse experience gets worse, as we are at the security check in when she running towards us yelling something in Italian about Polizia. Apparently she had given me back the tax refund document that she needs to get the paid and started accusing us of stealing it. How can it be stealing when it was given back to us? logic failed this women. sometimes you can't argue with stupid. read more

Great wifi and ample seating, but my goodness what a chore and annoyance trying to get around and find the right section for the gates

Milano Linate (LIN) is a fantastic airport that is located 15 minutes away from downtown Milano, while the other larger airport is over an hour drive. We arrived from SFO (via Frankfurt) and were extremely happy with Milano Linate - their services were extremely customer centric and all of the staff went out of their way to ensure a smooth arrival to a fabulous city. The airport is very close to the city. It is very small, not a lot of shops and cafes. Security takes sometimes very long. That is due to the missing space for enlargement. So it is very far from todays airport standards. The clear advantage is its location. Attention: fog is very likely mainly in winter and autumn. read more

This is specifically for the lost baggage service department. I arrived from London 3 days ago at Linate airport and find out my Luggage hasn't arrived. They told me it will come the next day and i arraigned to be delivered at my friends house. Guess what? three days no luggage. I called the number they provided no answer. So, i decided to come to the airport and asked for my luggage. They told me it had been delivered. I said who did you give it to obviously i haven't received it. The horrible lady who works at the counter started yelling at me as if i'm lying and told me they gave to the driver and the driver delivered it so it's not there problem. I was stunned by her unprofessional attitude because on the paper it stated when they deliver they have to check a document and if they give it to someone else other than me they have to show them a copy of my passport and the confirmation papers i have. The paper has to be signed by the person who received it. I have the confirmation paper in my possession unsigned and no luggage. They told me to call the driver and the delivery company to find out the driver gave my luggage to some random person that was coming out the building without checking any documentation. i am in awe. i can't believe this someone would do that. I am still waiting to hear from them how they're gonna compensate me or find my luggage. read more

This is specifically for the British Airways check-in desk at Linate. It is the absolute WORST service I have ever had, and I fly to Europe twice a year. Even though I have Sapphire status, it did not matter because the staff there does not care at all about providing service because they are not BA employees, they are contract workers. They think they are doing you a favor by checking you in. Lord help you if you arrive early at the airport, because they will not put you on an earlier flight, and they will not check you in until a couple of hours before your flight, so you need to sit there in the terminal, and can't go to the lounge or get your tax refund. A waste of time, which is what they are best at. Guiliana is the snottiest employee I have ever dealt with, and her manager is no better. Shameful service. They should be carting trash somewhere instead of dealing with the public (but that is insulting to trash collectors because they would not be good at that job, either). read more
