Milano Cadorna is in a good spot within the city, being close to Castello Sforzesco. It has 10 platforms and serves the Malpensa Express, for those heading to Malpensa Airport. There are a couple of shops inside to get essentials or a snack/drink before getting on your train, and a Carrefour Express across the way for basic grocery essentials. The station is easy to follow, with the huge red posts being an iconic and instantly recognisable symbol of the station. Not too big, or exciting, but certainly does the job, even though it certainly can't compete with Milano Centrale. 3* read more

Arriving from the airport on the express train (€18 euro round trip, ouch!) I found this station pretty easy to navigate and as soon as you put your ticket they, there is this board which quickly lets you know which platform to go to get your train. I did find it weird that there was NO seating on the platform for the Malpensa train and I had to walk back out toward the entry to find a seat to sit. I literally ran to the platform to see the lights piling away, so had plenty of time to kill and people watch since the Malpensa train apparently only runs every 30 mins. It was after 9pm and the clean crew was in progress with this big noisy machine. Getting to the train station was a bit of a challenge to - it sits in this middle of this island when walking from the duomo and so I experience some frustration, when already running late, having to cross excessive sets of lights. We took the Malpensa Express XP1 from the airport to this train station (versus to the huge Milano Centrale) which turned out to be much more manageable. It's located sort of northwestwest of downtown. From the platform it's a very short walk to the elevator to descend to the Metro station where we took the Red M1 line toward Sesto1 to head downtown to our hotel. Very easy for first time visitors. The train station is small and clean but has no food outlet. We used this train station a lot during our 3 day stay in Milan. We came here again to take a train to Lake Como for a day trip. There is a ticket office on site if you need assistance but you can also use the machines to purchase tickets. The station is conveniently located near two major sights: the Castello Sforesco and the Santa Maria Dells Grazie - we walked to both. read more

This is the station that you come into if you get on the train from the airport, the Malpensa Express. It's a decent sized station and everything you need well sign posted. The airport train has a separate ticket office and the platforms are set further back, on the left as you go in. So allow an extra few minutes to get there although using the ticket machines will make things faster. There is a separate side entrance to the station for this purpose which is where taxis will drop you off if asked. Other than that, there a fair few shops and food choices and often a food market outside (I dont know what days!). The plus about this station though is that you're a few minutes walk right into the old town, leading up to the castle. Enjoy! read more

Along with Central Station, Cadorna Railway Station is THE busiest of the stations in Milan. Its location is optimal, within walking distance from the Sforza Castle and but 2 subways stops from Duomo Cathedral. So, why just 3 stars? Because this IS the inbound/outbound Malpensa Express Station, and it should/could have been structured a whole lot better. There's but the tiniest waiting area (equipped with A/C) for the Malpensa Express costumers (but packed with all sorts of travelling people seeking cool air during the summer and warmth during winter. Yes, because EVERY single other seating arrangement is "outdoors" (within the station) and subject to weather inclement bursts. There is the beloved Burger King upstairs (which raises the bar a bit higher). An Alemagna bar (for those seeking coffee, sweets or sandwiches). There also is a travel agency, a bank and a big newspapers stand (with somewhat limited international press). There also are a few shops but they are almost hidden in a gallery. The access to the tracks is limited to those that have a valid ticket. I believe this station has a whole universe of untapped potential. But, those in charge will never allot the proper funds towards the station... read more
