Autogrill is what they call the majority of their rest stops. You can find one every half an hour on the interstate or so if memory serves me correctly. I have never seen a rest stop like this. It's spacious and even feels luxurious. They have a restaurant, they have a bakery, they make the food in front of you. Heck, the pasta I had was probably one of the best I've had in awhile. They, too, have bathrooms and even showers. More so, they have a store for food, souvenirs, and the like. Mamma mia! I want to take another road trip in Italy now just remembering this glorious place.

That might appear strange at first or something only tourists would do (well....we are). But the prices are really low on olive oil. But not just that....the quality is high as well. Nothing compared to the standard cheap olive oil we get at home. For a lot higher prices. We bought two huge salami, 6 bottles of extra virgin olive oil (organic, 1 Litre each) and two cans of three-litre extra virgin olive oil. All great stuff and very enjoyable. Especially the organic oil is tasty for cooking, salad or as a topping on any food (like steak tartar). As usual we were very happy with our purchases and will shop at Autogrill again. This one here was a smaller branch, but got everything we wanted.

Housekeeping did not speak English and I speak limited Italian so the front desk would call to translate for us. We booked the package with free breakfast, parking, mini bar, use of the espresso machine and welcome drinks. Hotel keys were high tech and you could scan outside your door. Rooms had robes and slippers for guests to use. Parking was a gated lot, spots out front or an underground garage. Breakfast had a selection of meats, cheeses, pastries, eggs, cereal. The espresso machine made delicious lattes and cappuccinos. Our room faced the pool but I'm sure the lake view rooms were lovely. We were offered to upgrade to a suite but we declined. A few negatives - drinks in the lobby were ok - Cuba Libra didn't taste quite right. The shower a turned cold very quickly as I imagine a lot of people were using it at the same time in the morning. The mini fridge also made a strange noise. Close to Gardaland, Olive Oil Museum, and nearby restaurants. Several restaurants were closed for winter so pay attention to days/hours.
