*Cash Only* Mila Cafe is a great little spot for breakfast, dine-in or on the go. Hubby, his brother and myself stopped in to pick up a few breakfast sandwiches to-go. We all ordered the same thing: sausage, egg and cheese breakfast sandwich on a breakfast roll. The sausage was in the form of a patty. This worked well since it covered the whole sandwich and it was very tasty. The egg was cooked well and the cheese was perfectly melted. I really enjoyed the breakfast roll - soft, freshly baked and held up well. The bottom slice soaked up the sausage flavor which was so yummy! This sandwich was great with ketchup as well as hot sauce! Friendly, fast service and affordable prices for NYC!
Mila Cafe is a hidden gem. During our visit to NYC last month, we popped into Mila Cafe for a quick breakfast before attacking our day. What a special treat!!! The staff are amazing and the food is even better. Convenient location with a stacked menu. One of the best parts about Mila Cafe was the young lady that was working the counter and also the barista. She was incredibly friendly and very helpful. Highly recommend!!!! We enjoyed our meal and experience so much, we memorialized our visit with a picture.
Perfect place to stop for a quick bite. We ordered breakfast sandwiches which were reasonably priced and prepared quickly. The lady at the counter was super nice and brought our sandwiches to our table when they were ready. I got a bacon egg and cheese on a plain bagel and it definitely met NYC standards in terms of taste and it hit the spot for sure. The only downside was I didn't see a bathroom available for customers, but then again I didn't ask so maybe there was one behind the counter. Either way, we would consider stopping here again and trying out the lunch or dinner menus!
SETUP: In NYC for turkey day -- looking for good affordable breakfast CAST: Mark and Suz SCENE: Late breakfast, 2nd visit ACTION: Well, this is our second visit and we plan to come again, this (clearly) local deli with (other than us) local patrons serves great coffee (that's right), and greets you with a very pleasant girl at the counter. And -- the food is good too! Now -- bring cash because there are eight signs saying so, but at these prices it's all good. Lots it people watching, great elevator music (I'm serious), great prices!
Excellent food at an affordable price on the Upper West Side! I don't know the name of the lady working the front, but she was there both times we came in and she was just a delight! She was so nice and sweet and her personality alone was enough for us to want to come back! I ordered the Alps Panini and it was perfectly grilled with a generous amount of ham. Breakfast is also really good and the chai is excellent! Keep in mind this place is cash only.
Mila Cafe is a neighborhood spot with large portions at a very reasonable price. On my typical morning walk, I decided to give it a try after reading several reviews on Yelp. I wasn't really sure what to expect based on the mixed reviews, however Mila Cafe was a welcomed surprise. Firstly, the small unassuming cafe can be easily underestimated , dare I say forgotten, in a city like NYC because it is small, has dark tinted windows and the name doesn't offer much in the way of clues to what type of cuisine to expect. Secondly, their hours are a bit sketchy. Online the hours are posted as early morning, but I passed by at 8:15 and I saw an employee just turning on the "coffee" light in the window. I came back an hour or so later and confirmed the opening time with the cashier. She said they were there at around 8:00am or a few minutes after, but I seriously doubt that was the case. Thirdly, after placing my order, the food total was very reasonable for the french toast, home fries and the cheese croissant. My total was just under $13.00. The food was cooked very quickly and the portions were easily enough for two people. Lastly, everything was delicious. Was it the best meal that I had in New York? No, but it was quite good and served me well for breakfast. Especially compared to some of the other neighborhood places that charged way more money for the same or lesser quality food. Milo Cafe is certainly worth a try. I'd recommend getting takeout and keeping it moving. Not exactly the someplace that you'd specifically want to dine-in.
I was very pleased with my breakfast. I had the 2eggs scrambled with home fries, a toasted bagel and orange juice. The price was absolutely reasonable. The guy in at the counter was alllll smiles and he made u feel very welcome and important. I think he was the owner. I advise you bring cash because they do not take cards. I had to run to Walgreens across the street to the ATM and he was very understanding, because of that I definitely tipped him. I wish everyone was that sweet to customers. Now that's what I called customer service. They still making great food
I was looking for a breakfast place and came by Mila Cafe and decided to give it a try because of the high yelp reviews. Taso's Special was good and the food was fresh but there was too much cheese on it. I was really excited to try their homemade fries because it looked so good but they didn't have it that day which was upsetting. The food was pretty good overall and the service was exceptional, the staff was very helpful and created a really nice environment. They also only accepted cash when I went there.
Solid breakfast/brunch food at reasonable prices. The Melano panini sandwich is so good for under $10! They pack it with tons of chicken and the pesto and sun dried tomatoes add so much flavor. The challah French toast is solid as well as the omelette. They give you great quantity for the price! The only downside is you can't call in or order online. So you have to wait for the order. read more
CASH ONLY!!! This is a no frills, solid cheap spot to get a bite. They have your standard breakfast stuff. Standard diner breakfast items for half the price. I had two scrambled eggs with home fries platter. Very well made. Coffee was solid. Can't ask for more. Plenty of tables to dine in. Super friendly service. Highly recommend when you want a quick bite in the area. read more

A hole in a wall cafe that gives a diner vibe. Tried the iced coffee, ham/egg/cheese bagel sandwich and blueberry pancakes. Everything was great especially for the price which is cheap compared to anywhere else in the city. Fyi they do accept card now read more

I used to really like this place since I live across the street..but..they keep screwing up the orders!! Especially frustrating when you order takeout only to get home to find the order is wrong!! Last week I ordered a Greek salad w Caesar dressing on the side as I don't like the oil and vinegar it comes with. Got home...no Caesar dressing..just the container of the unwanted oil and vinegar. Today, I order a sausage egg and cheese on a roll...come home...no cheese! C'mon!! Happens far too often!! read more

Mila Cafe is an excellent choice for breakfast, which is served until 2 pm. I had the pleasure to dine here while exploring Manhattan, and it was surely a great find. Although they are a cash-only establishment, you do not have to bring very much with you, as this is an inexpensive it gets in New York City. I had the omelet with turkey, ham, and broccoli and was beyond satisfied with the quality and portion size. This meal was complimented with a down-to-earth and laid-back atmosphere, only further amplifying my breakfast experience. The coffee was exceptional as well, making this stop one of the better experiences that I have had in New York City. The only thing that was missing was Frank's Red Hot Sauce (please sponsor me), which is more of a personal preference. Will be back here before I leave! read more

My friend and I were in Central Park, found this place on Yelp, and decided to walk over for lunch. It was a great choice!! We both got paninis. My friend got the vegetable one, and enjoyed it. She said it was filling and tasty, and that she particularly liked the mozzarella. She also got a small iced coffee and was amazed at how cheap it was. I got the Melano panini, which is grilled chicken, mozzarella, red peppers, sun dried tomatoes, and pesto. It was delicious and I saved half for later, which I'm super excited to eat. I also got a mango and papaya smoothie which was *amazing* and I would highly recommend it. The woman working behind the counter was both kind and helpful! She was super attentive whenever someone walked in, and made sure my friend and I had everything we needed. I will definitely be back. read more

Decided to give this place a try for breakfast. It's not too large in terms of space, but has about 4-5 tables for dine-in customers. The girl taking the orders was super friendly, patient and helpful. I decided to get a veggie omelette - you can pick any 3 veggies (included), or even add more for extra cost. I picked mushrooms, spinach and onions. The omelette also comes with a side, I chose the house potatoes. The omelette wasn't anything exceptional with any secret ingredients - but it tasted home-made and fresh - just the way I like my breakfast. No breakfast is complete without coffee or tea - so I got a hot caramel latte. Without asking me a million questions about how I wanted my drink, they made the most perfect latte I have had! She only asked me if I wanted milk and sugar, and I said yes - the result was a hot cup of caramel latte with the perfect ratio of syrup, milk and coffee. Others in the cafe were enjoying lunch options such as paninis, that also looked appetizing. The prices are really good - I think my omelette plate was around $7 and the latte was about $3. I would highly recommend this place for a quick breakfast, brunch or lunch. read more

A typical, simple breakfast restaurant that gets the job done right. I ordered a breakfast platter that consisted of bread, french fries, eggs, and sausages in the morning and it was the perfect breakfast dish. Simplicity at its finest. And the prices were very reasonable ($6.80) which made the food taste even better haha. It wasn't the cleanest inside the restaurant so I hope they cleaned up the restaurant just a little bit. Seems like a family business that takes care of this restaurant but I may be wrong. It was so random how I came across this restaurant, but in the end, I'm glad I did. read more
