The grilled onions were cooked well, but again just a sprinkle of salt would elevate the burger. The bacon was crispy, which was welcomed because the rest of the burger experience was just - meh. My tab was $48 and some change, which isn't terrible in today's economy, however, I've had $48 meals elsewhere that were head and shoulders above. I'd also rethink how the plate comes together. The oversized mustard offering dominates the presentation a bit, and the food deserves something that ties the plate together more naturally. One thing Mench's should absolutely make a bigger deal about: the meats are made in-house, as are the dressing and mustard. That matters. It speaks to what they're trying to do here and distinguishes the place from a typical deli experience. Tell people about it! Overall, these felt like small, one-off execution issues rather than anything fundamental. The food was really good, the atmosphere is terrific, and the people made the experience even better.
