I took my 2016 Mini Cooper into Mike's Smog based on recommendations from several friends of my husband. " Go to Mike's!" they raved about the service. I called Mike's in advance, and they were ready for me when I arrived. They took my DMV renewal docs, moved my car into the test area. As I waited, I looked around the office, I noted the cleanliness of the premises, then I noticed the customer seating - two very nice, business-like matching sofas. Very well done, and obviously concerned about the comfort of the customer. Mike's didn't feel like some other independent auto service places I've experienced. This was a big step up from the iffy environments with a bunch of nasty furniture where you're not sure if it's just better to stand. The next thing I know, the door to the test area opens, and I get the '"You're all set" from a member of Mike's family. Then they tell me "We sent your test results electronically into DMV, so all you need to do is go on line and pay your registration fee and you're all done." Mike's was thoroughly professional and the service level was off the charts; A complete pleasure to do business with. I was beyond impressed. They could hold a seminar on how to treat customers. No appointment needed and I got there and waited 30 minutes as there were 3 cars ahead of me. Once my car went in it took about 15 minutes and it was done. They charge $20 for a failed test and $60 for a passed test. The office had AC and was very friendly. A good place to go if you need this service. read more

I recently moved to Indio and needed a smog certification. I searched online and found Mike's Smog Check, which had excellent reviews. I pulled up a man greeted me and immediately took the car into the garage bay area. Inside, a nice woman handed me a clipboard and asked me to complete my name, address, phone, etc. She left for a couple of minutes to return and told me the car passed and I paid $62.00. Called to get info for prices and the receptionist was polite, informative with their pricing and business hours, and very welcoming.
