Zero stars and no excuses from your manager. As a veteran I'm incensed at such poor service and lack of communication between workers at this place. I arrived there around 11 a.m. and was told by a male at the office, "The technician is out to lunch." I returned back to their shop near 12 p.m. and the young man then tells me, "Oh, he won't be back until 1 p.m." Once the technician returns he tells me, "Oh, I can't do your vehicle today, but I can do it tomorrow at 1 p.m. I'm guessing that the office person did not have access to any "schedule" or the technician just works when he wants. What a great experience with this business. I have been putting of the required smog check for weeks. On a whim I called T 9:15 am Saturday. I was told be here at 10:30. I was a little early, walked in told the gentleman I had a 10:30. I gave him the DMV paper and the key he said have a seat it shouldn't be too long. Exactly 15 minutes later he came into waiting and said all done. He gave me a bill for $48. He even left the car in the shade of the garage. What a genuinely nice man and experience. I was a little concerned that my registration was due during this pandemic situation and my 14 year old truck wouldn't pass smog plus it had to be Star certified at that. I read all of the excellent reviews about Value Smog and gave them a call to ask if they accepted appointments. Sure enough! His schedule was flexible so I accepted the first morning appointment for the following week. I arrived a bit early before they were scheduled to open and an associate assured me it would be fine for me to wait in the lobby. I was grateful since June heat had already kicked in. The environment looked prepared for a contact-less transaction considering COVID19 with a plastic screen shielding the cashier and the customer. He was also wearing gloves and maybe a mask. He was so courteous that I can't even remember that detail but I do remember a sign reading customers should wear a mask. He requested I drive my own vehicle into the service bay and return to the lobby to wait. It seemed just a few minutes when my truck was ready and had PASSED. I had a couple of coupons which he kindly honored and once again, he allowed me to drive my vehicle out of the garage for a contact-less experience and I was on my way. Great Job Value Smog! read more
