The service was great. My engine light had been on and my mechanic suggested I take it here and see what diagnostics showed. The gal here really knows her stuff. Readings showed a leak. Mechanic Miguel did a very reasonably priced smoke pressure test and found an 0 ring needed replacing. The engine light went off! They had me drive it for 30 minutes and come back. Relative to previous decades' experience several other places in CA, had unusual trouble finding a reasonable smog quote for my older vehicle. Called 10 other places in the area; Coachella Smog Center was both the lowest priced and most accommodating. Figured something was a scam, but worth seeing. No scam. Got there early & the vehicle was in the bay before the appointment time. Everyone I interacted with was courteous. Maybe coincidence or maybe evidence of birds of a feather: all three other sets of customers while I was there were friendly, salt-of-the-earth people. Have only had the single experience at Coachella Smog Center, but everything about it screamed genuine, hardworking, pride-of-ownership small business--a rarer and rarer thing to find anymore. Made an appointment at 1 came in at 12:45. The front desk told me my car didn't pass and I had to drive around to reset the monitors (reason why I didn't pass). She told me to drive to COOK. like..in Palm Desert. I hesitated but did it. Came back, and she told me to do it again. Seriously? So I did but this time I did my errands too since they were in Palm Desert anyways. Came back around 3. Front desk checked my car, and I passed. I've now been waiting about an hour and 15 minutes for the certificate. I have patience but this, this is absolutely absurd. Get your shit together read more

Went to Coachella Smog Center to have my RV smogged. Not the fanciest place but I was very impressed with how quick they get vehicles in and out. I showed up with several cars in front of me but we were all out in less than 15 minutes with three technicians working. Courteous and inexpensive. I will definitely be bringing my vehicles back here in the future. read more

This place has always been my go to for smogs, on my most recent visit though I was extremely impressed at the great level of customer service and knowledge I was dealt with. I brought in my older Mazda pickup and not being very knowledgeable about carburetors was unable to determine why it failed the smog. The owner then walked me through the emissions sheet and explained the numbers and what they meant, he recommended a tune up and informed me my ignition timing was off and then proceeded to explain how I should correctly adjust and to what degree. After a tuneup and some service I returned and was able to pass the smog with flying colors. This place is great and the staffs knowledge is outstanding. I can see other places just directing you to a shop or refusing to explain why you're vehicle won't pass smog because they don't get compensated for their efforts but this place went the extra mile. I will continue to bring all my vehicles and refer anyone here. read more

Coupon in the white sheet reeled me in, what a mistake. Just wanted to save a few bucks from my regular smog place. Got hooked up and initially passed but then the technician saw some not connected items on my air cleaner and his eyes lit up. Said I didn't pass but the other tech gave me a thumbs up. Asked how I could pass and, sure enough, he said how much and I told him what would it take. He countered with a hundred so I said ok. All the thief did was to get on the monitor, I was watching, and he marked pass on each prompt. That was it!!! I hope karma bites this f***king scammer in the butt.
