Love hanging out on the water at Mike's. We had fish tacos, shrimp cocktail & a fish sammie. Love the relaxed vibe & friendly service. Our kids love it here (teenagers) and especially love the pretzel bites.

The wait staff is incredibly friendly! However, my only gripe is that I wanted to try the impossible burger as a vegan and it is no longer on the menu . I'm just a simple vegan who wants a burger. Anyway vegans you have the option of the green goddess salad with no feta. I opted for the preztel as I'm not a healthy vegan. Overall the location is gorgeous off the water with ample parking and super friendly staff. But can a vegan get some options a burger some plant based protein. I'll still come back for the staff and view.

I wanted to love this place but it missed the mark. The 2 stars were for the cool water side deck and vibe outside. The waitress was great but service was super slow. Took ~ 30 min for our food order to come out (only 3 sandwiches and a bowl of chowder, no apps). Even our waitress mentioned how long it's taking for food to come out. When it did come out it was pretty disappointing. We ordered a super overpriced lobster roll... it was small rubber nuggets of lobster. With all the negative about service and food.... I still might come back when the weather gets better again to hang at the outdoor bar for drinks and watching a game. The view of the dock and boats coming and going is pretty sweet. There is seating inside and a large indoor bar as well but outside deck is where you want to be.

Any restaurant that has sold over 115,849 lobster rolls must know something about lobster and Mike's on the water certainly does. Their lobster bisque is proof. The perfect amount of lobster along with a touch of sherry makes this excellent dish. Combine this with their mussels appetizer and you have a perfect seafood combo. Toss in excellent service and the charming decor and you have a must stop location when in Saint Clair Shores.

Apps, the fried pretzel bites are out of this world!

Awesome waterfront restaurant, key west vibes, lobster roll and lobster bisque is fantastic, salmon sandwich is one of my favs also and if you don't get the fried pretzel bites you are seriously missing out! Always a friendly wait staff, if it's nice out get there early as it gets busy

Headed over for a Thursday lunch on a beautiful summer day. No wait when we got there but there was by the time we left. Had a nice table on the deck overlooking the marina. Staff were all very friendly. We enjoyed the lobster rolls, warm with butter, and they were quite good. The lobster wasn't the huge chunks I've had sometimes but the meat was all very tender & enjoyable--lots of lobster! Chips on the side were just ok, not really seasoned at all. You're not really on the lake, but on the marina. We tried to get a Lake St. Clair pic, driving up and down the road, but it's all private land, fenced, or if we found a park it was 'resident permit only', so that was very disappointing. And elitist. Boo, Lake St. Clair!!

$12 for tiny drinks in plastic cups! Prices don't match the ambiance! Nice staff though

Waited an hour and 15 minutes to sit when quoted at 45 mins. Took 2 hours from being seated to get food. Found dead bugs in their ketchup and mustard and silverware tray. The waitress never communicated to us there was an issue or anything while we sat there waiting for our food. It was also not busy so I don't know why it took so long. They were out of chips so they claimed we were going to have to pay for the onion rings or fries as the only side option (an up-charge because they were out of food) (I don't know if they ended up doing that or not) We sat there for 2 hours wondering what's going on. Finally food came and it was not that good. Chicken sandwich looked like it came from Leo's Coney Island. They charged a 1$ for ranch and never said anything about that. Not a great experience. I guess being on the water was nice. Bathroom was dirty. This place needs to communicate better with customers.

Im glad I got to try this spot before the weather got cold. I love a waterfront patio view so their patio was perfect to me. The food, not so much. I got the fish burgers, added cheese. I just wasn't impressed. I just had a hard time finding some appealing on the menu to eat. I got a margarita which was basic, nothing special. Doesn't deter me from ever coming back, I just wasn't impressed. My waitress was great though. Really sweet, super knowledgeable. No complaints there

We visited Mike's On the Water on a beautiful Sunday afternoon for lunch. We ate outside on the deck. I started with the lobster bisque, which was a different take. The bisque was a bit more brothy, and the lobster was on a flat piece of bread, like a pizza. I thought it was good. I also had the mussels. They were very good, in a butter sauce. I split the mussels The star for us was the atmosphere. Outside with a casual bar and boats docking. The restaurant is set back in the marina. You have to turn off Jefferson, go through the gates, and follow the lines to the back. My wife and I agreed we would come back here.

We found this to be a lake side dining experience, featuring a decent Michigan dockside menu, good bar, fast and efficient service, and almost kitschy décor. Would strongly recommend a stop here for locals or visitors. As a dockside bar/restaurant , this is a strong 4.0+ establishment. Pulled up on a Friday and was immediately charmed by this place. Lots of interesting decor, signs, posters, pictures and eclectic treasures hanging everywhere. While I didn't meet "Mike," I felt like I "get" him and can relate to his interests just by seeing what he chose to put up in honor of his customers, his family, favorite distinctions, and pictures. I want of know Mike! Waited about 10 minutes for a table on the deck. Strong service by competent and friendly staff. Ended up with a table without cover. We requested a different table after sitting for 10+ minutes. They helped us move and were very nice about it. Thank you! Food and drink: - dark and stormy: Nicely crafted and perfect for a warm afternoon - Smoked whitefish: This was very tasty. Not to fishy or Smokey. Lots of creaminess and just the amount of pickle flavor. 4.0 - perch and fries: GET THIS! Perfectly breaded with yummy fries. Coleslaw didn't taste homemade, but was still good. 4.2 - lobster roll: Decent lobster roll for being so far away from the east coast. Lobster was a tad chewy, so may have been over cooked. Still very tasty! 3.9 -Also at our table was the mahi tuna salad and the cod sandwich. Both of these were enjoyed by our friends. Check this place out!

The second time we went it was sooo slow. It took at least 15 min to get menus once we were seated and took about 45 min to get the food once the server came back to take our orders, which also took a while. It was 2pm on a Friday, and other than what looked like a wrapping up work lunch (they had checks and boxes for leftovers when we were seated) there were only 2 tables of guests, so the delay was not due to it being busy. That day I got a side salad and a chicken wrap. The salad was very good aside from coming with an item I asked to take off. I did ask for no tomato, as you can see in the pic, they were added. I didnt get pictures of the wrap, but it was very meh. I would not order it again. I did not like the BBQ sauce that was used. Very overly sweet and not a good flavor. I also found there to not be a ton of chicken, it was like a second salad... TONS of romaine. I believe the wrap was called Lakehouse Chicken Wrap. Side note. We were seated near open windows and the construction was. Abit loud, which was ignorable, however! there was a phone on the server station that was ringing CONSTANTLY. I have no clue what that was about, but it was so annoying. We did alert a server but nothing was done about it. Overall, I would go back but maybe just for apps and drinks. The drinks was well made and they had a decent beer selection as well. The look of the bar is nice and I hope they can stay open longer than some of the other places that have been there!

I have tried a round on two other occasions. One undercooked but still good. The other was great. Tonight we tried a square. It was 40 minutes until ready. I can't even believe they sent it out and no one checked it. It was black. Hard to bite through. I had a piece, others tried. Everyone said the same thing and took a few bites and couldn't even get through a piece. We threw it out. You could tell the ingredients used were fantastic in quality. It was terrible though. I expected a little delay on the food because of the crowd but not a 45-minute wait. Geez! Our server was nice, no complaints there. The vibe? Full-on sports bar. TVs everywhere. Definitely a solid spot to catch a game or pull up with a group. The menu is pretty large too, so you have options. Let's get into the food: I ordered the Dox Burger on a gluten-free bun and upgraded to fries instead of the house chips. It was actually really good and I was NOT expecting a double patty. That was a lot of burger, but I wasn't mad at it. We also tried the Burn the Boat burger. It was good, but it needed way more bad boy sauce. I could barely taste it. The shrimp fajitas came out sizzling (love that for presentation), but the veggies were a little too charred for my liking. And the salsa? Not it. Everything else was solid though. For drinks, we had Cabernet and Prosecco. Both were good just slightly overpriced, especially considering the limited selection. Overall, it's a solid 3.5 for me. I'd come back and try something different, just knowing to expect a wait.
