The shop quoted almost $700 after my having spent a little over $900 earlier this month relating to that same P0455 code. "Lucky" for me, the car started hesitating, dash lights flashing, and difficulty steering, so I was afraid to drive and didn't want to call a tow just to get it to the shop. Convinced I'd have to get a new car, I found Kevin's paperwork in the glove box from 2023 and gave him a call. Kevin came over and asked detailed questions about what I experienced...he told me what he thought might be going on and that it may not be as bad as I thought. Kevin walked me through the process and I was able to see what he thought needed attention, why it need attention, and how he fixed each problem. I'm a visual person so this approach gives me confidence in his process. We took a test drive before and after the fix and my car feels new again!

I called AAA to send for road assistance. AAA sent two guys in a mini van with the name displaying the Blue & Gray towing company to assist me. However, neither one could get the spare donut-tire unhinged to replace the punctured tire. So, not wanting to waste my time, they called for a flatbed truck to have my mini van towed to my regular workshop in Rockville MD. Before long, a Free-State Towing truck arrived and the driver hooked up my vehicle on the flatbed. (I later learned that both companies belong to the same owner.) Eric, the driver of the flat truck was very careful in handling of my van and making sure it was secured on his flatbed before towing it off. I rode along with him to tow my van to my usual auto garage in Rockville. What impressed me was that even though Eric was to have completed his shift and yet when called upon to take care of another customer of the company, he was very obliging and was very cheerful about it. Along the drive to Rockville, I was even more impressed how patient he was in maintaining the speed limit and the courtesy he showed to other motorists during a jampacked peak hours traffic. He concluded his great service in making sure my van was placed right to where the workshop area was for it. Getting a flat when you are an hour from home on a Sunday night without a jack can be the worse feeling. But we were very lucky to pull into a gas station that had a card for Mike's lockout Service. He came into 30 minutes and my husband and I were able to sit in the warmth of our car and have the tire changed. He even stayed to make sure the spare had the correct air pressure in it before we got back on the road. What could have been a long stressful night ended up being just a short detour. I have asked them numerous times to come pick up their tank and close my account but they refuse to respond.
