There is a reason they are so cheap. The receptionist also questioned me on warranty. Everyone knows when you have work done there is a warranty. This shop had lost me and many others.

my pickup truck started acting up as I was coming down Sideling Hill mountain last weekend on a…read moremiserable rainy Sunday morning, lost my power steering, battery light flashing that is wasn't charging and as I coasted down the mountain my temperature overheat light came on, I was able to coast it into the town of Hancock and shut her down, I started googling local mechanics knowing that it being a Sunday I wasn't likely to find one open, I saw that Main Street Motors was close to my location and I was able to limp my truck to their lot, I called a friend who I knew was close to pick me up and get me home which was 2 hours away. I had left my keys in their drop box and when I got home I call their number and left a message explaining my situation, I got a call from the shop first thing Monday morning when they opened and I gave them what info I could about the truck, I got a call back later the same afternoon telling me that my truck was fixed and explaining what was wrong and what it took to fix i, when I told them that I wouldn't be able pick it up till the weekend because I was so far away, they had no problem with me leaving the truck there till I could get it and made so that I could get to it even with the shop closed at the tim, I was able to retrieve my truck yesterday and everything was great, it ran as it should, Main Street Motors was very quick and did a great job and I think that for the work that they did, they were very reasonably priced and didn't try to take advantage of a out of towne, I would highly recommend them if you need a mechanic in the Hancock area

As they are closed on Sunday, they were very accommodating in helpig us get back on the road home as quickly as possible. Turned out someone had wired the battery wrong so they replaced it, got All the wiring sorted, and cleaned some other parts that needed it when the van didn't run smooth the first test drive. They charged a good price too! Prompt work that was well done by good men, I can't recommend them enough.

He began hook up a code reader to the fuse box to check the issues. We were told cylinder misfired, and piston rings were affected. Then some random customer pulls up and the mechanic stops working on OURS to work on theirs! They had t get tires balanced and filled, which took away 30-40 minutes from ours. He comes back to our car and lifts it on one side to see if he could fix it that way. NOTHING WAS DONE! He blowed some WD40 and air to clean off engine and debris, and then looked at his watch and said he has to go pick up girlfriend and there was nothing else he could do for us because it needed more work but he was ready to go. By this time it's 3:45pm. WASTED OUR TIME all day and for nothing! Then turn around and BLOCKS US IN... and charges us $300+ ... EXCESSIVE and UNNECESSARY. We paid what we could because of bank issues and we agreed to pay the rest next week. We didn't expect the bill to be that much and we wasn't prepared for that high bill. They finally moved to let us out and we have to drive 30-45 mi all the way home because it never got fixed. I will not be recommending to anyone. Very unprofessional. I appreciate the effort but try harder to please the customer that was there first.

My low coolant light came on (despite just having it at the dealer for service) and I went into Hancock MD hoping to find someone to help me. I didn't find anything there but googled service and Mike's shop came up. I was nervous about my car, but Mike and his crew made me feel at ease. They are friendly, knowledgeable and through. I have never been charged $80 for an oil change for my Corolla! They charged $10/qt (44.50), $20 for "oil change&filter" $6.50 for filter, and $8 for "shop supplies". I felt so incredibly ripped off. I will never return. I can't imagine what taking our truck there would be. I've never particularly enjoyed that when you show up, no one greets you. You can look Mike in the eyes as you exit your vehicle and he will walk away to the back. Just dealt with it. I hope this review helps someone else know what to expect if they go there for an oil change.

Stranded on the side of the highway, the service team connected us to a tow company ("Roland's Garage," who was also prompt, professional and friendly), got our van in, fixed the problem and got us on the road home quickly. They even loaned us a car and recommended local "Weaver's" restaurant in Hancock for lunch - excellent crab cakes and raisin cookies! Thank you for your hospitality and for making a potentially bad day a minor bump in the road.
