When I took my car to a national chain repair shop nearby, they wanted to replace my tire with a nail in the tread. I was taken aback. After reading Mike's shop review, I decided to drive to his shop. I got there at thirty minutes before he opened. By the time he opened, there were a handful of people waiting for him already (In contrast, I was the only customer in the big national chain shop. ) He took one look at my tire, and told me it could be safely fixed. In 10 minutes, he took care of the problems. I gladly paid the $15 fee and a small tip for lunch. I asked him why he did not get a bigger place, considering how small his place was. His whole office was completely filled with tires and wheel hubs, and he had to move them in order to get into his small office. He said the rent is too expensive around Hicksville. I am very impressed by the service he provided, by his expertise in tires, and by his gentle nature. It is rare to meet such a nice and honest guy in the an auto repair shop. read more

Have a car that didn't come with a spare tire. I called a tire shop, was told they didn't sell tires AND rims. They HIGHLY recommended Mike's Hubcaps. I called and later that day visited the shop. Mike measured the tire and said he would contact me the next day. Sure enough, the next morning he called and told me he located a rim and would have it the very next day. I went to Walmart and I get new tire Goodyear all season for $55 with 60,000 mile warranties + they put it on with balancing for $13. Keep away from this guy he is crazy. I visited Mike's a few weeks ago for a flat tire. Although he was about to close his shop for the day he took the time to pull the tire off my car, thoroughly inspect it, and explain why it needed to be replaced. By 12:30 pm the following day, the tire had been ordered, delivered, and replaced, all at a very reasonable price.
