It was a mixed review but they came through with flying colors. The bad was they put the wrong size tire on my car. The ugly was it resulted in issues with car computer system and fuel mileage. Had to pay $410 to dealer for diagnostic to figure out what was causing the errors and lack of mileage, but it pointed to the tire being the wrong size. The wait was about 2.5 hours or so. Had to take off for day to bring in car for tire replacement. The good was Dennis the Asst Mgr took call and offered to take care of issue the next day and likewise ordered the correct tire for me. Phil the Manager (?) took me in right away but it still took 2.5+ hours due to other cars in cue. No paperwork needed - a plus. When work was done there was no charge, I tipped the service person. My only other issue was the service person did not align tire pressure for all four wheels. Fortunately I have a tire inflator and did it myself. Car running great now. Bonus - there is a giant H-Mart in lot next to theirs and two restaurants/cafes (plus a seating cafe area inside H-Mart. A bit expensive but good way to kill time. Arby's is in lot on other side. This is honestly one of the worst tire service experiences I've ever had. Be prepared to wait the entire day. The service is extremely slow, and there seems to be very little organization in how things are handled. Even for simple issues, the waiting time can easily stretch for many hours. The most frustrating part, however, is the way they handle road hazard coverage. After waiting all day, you may be told that your road hazard protection doesn't apply to your tire. Whether the tire is worn or clearly damaged from the road, they somehow always find a reason why the coverage you paid for doesn't apply. In my case, it didn't even seem like they properly examined the tire, yet they were quick to say that the coverage would not work. It leaves the impression that customers are paying for protection they will never actually receive. Overall, I would strongly recommend going somewhere else if you value your time and expect the coverage you paid for to be honored. read more

My interaction with the Olsen has been pleasant both times and I haven't had any issues. They were able to save my tire and I saved a couple hundreds of dollars! I'm glad I don't have to make an appointment with the dealership anymore and wait over a month! They have seats inside so you can wait there. I suggest bringing something to keep you entertained because you don't know how long you've been there. They didn't keep me there very long, fortunately! The restroom is very clean as well. Appointment was confirmed and prepaid; several days later, I went to the shop w/ my confirmation and at at my appointment date and time. Upon arrival the young guy at the desk said "What appointment?" even after I showed him the confirmation and copy of my paid receipt from my credit card, he further said, "who orders tires online? Everybody comes into the store to order, the Goodyear.com site doesn't work, so next time order in person. Corporate knows about the problem with online ordering but does nothing about it. They don't care." After lots of negotiation I eventually had the tires installed, however, it was a lot of work to convince them that I had prepaid for the tires and even had an appointment. did some research for a four wheel alignment on my wife's Rav 4. Certainly glad I chose Goodyear in Hicksville. The waiting area, unlike that of some competitors', was clean and most comfortable. I made an appointment that, if you can believe it or not, was kept right on time. Service was exceptional and waited only just under one hour for the full alignment. Price was most reasonable. Only one complaint which kept this review form beign a 5 star review. The mechanic left his grease marks on the dirver side door sill as well as on the steering wheel. By the time I got home, my hands were so dirty it looked as if I did the alignment myself by hand. Other than this I would highly recommend Goodyear/Hicksville. read more

I've come here for years for basic maintenance. Never had an issue ever. Then one day I hear a noise like my wheel bearing needs to be replaced. I went to this shop three times and they kept telling me it wasn't my wheel bearing until finally telling me it was the transmission. Since they don't do transmissions, I went to the dealer. The dealer said it's the wheel bearing and that if Good Year were competent they would have diagnosed the same thing. I went to another shop and they said it's the wheel bearing. I went to a third shop and they too said it's the wheel bearing. I eventually had the bearing fixed at the dealer and guess what, the noise was gone. I put 2000 miles on this car with this noise and was told numerous times the care was road worthy. If you don't know what a wheel bearing does, it keeps the tire attached to the car. I could have hit a pot hole and lost the fire at highway speed or it could have seized up and made me lose control. They are nice enough guys but I feel like they put me in danger because they are clueless unless it's an oil change and/or tires. read more

Came in for oil change. They said 20 minutes. First the bad: I sat in waiting room for an hour and 20 minutes before asking the manager. They hadn't started. Lots of mechanics lounging around and goofing off. One guy smoking in the garage. Zero customer service. Made me feel like they were doing me a favor by agreeing to change my oil in 90 minutes. I complained to the manager and he explained that some guys are just tire guys, other guys mechanics, sometimes a simple job turns out to be complex and needs brakes or something, it's really hard to predict timing, blah blah blah. Bought 4 Goodyear premium tires for my grand Cherokee . During the inspection they said led tail light was out, charged me 129.00 PLUS 15 labor to put it in, fine. Just checked my wheels because I felt a shimmy, found that the front wheels had ALL the lug nuts just finger tight (like a NASCAR hurry up pit stop ) AND they lost a lug nut on my rears. I have been to this place a few times well and I have never had a good experience. The Manager there, I think he said his name was "Thomas Clark" was terrible, does not have the time nor patience for the customers and the next in line boss Mr. Dennis, is a typical "yes man" - this shop is poorly run. Even if my problem was unfix-able, the way they speak and explain things to you makes you wonder if you are dumb or from outta space. And rest assure they will find other problems with your car for you to spend extra money, a bunch of con-men if you ask me. They were so nice when its time to get your money and when you go back with a problem they seemed pissed and does not want to honour the warranty. I can guarantee you one thing, my money is to good to be spent there, I will NEVER got back to Goodyear, who by the way, the warranty service on tires is another rip off. A small synopsis: I got a new tire, bought the warranty, got a bubble on the tire a few months down the road, went back to Goodyear and still spent $175 dollars. Add $60 dollars to that and I could have bought a new tire at Sears.... First, they prorate your tire, which is never accurate and they charge you a big fee to take the lug nuts off your car, then they charm you with other miscellaneous charges and hit you with the bill. Imagine paying 40 to have your wheel nuts removed. !!! Another incident, I live about 20 miles away from this branch, got a flat on one of my other tires, I had it plug by another tire shop as I couldn't get to a Goodyear store close by, so I had no choice. Now a few days later, I went to Goodyear to have a tire inspected and the same Manager saw the plug in my tire and asked me who did that crappy plug job, and I told him a tire store where I lived, he then laugh, so I ask if the warranty covers this, he says yes !!!, so I said to him, can you replug it ? He said in retuen, Oh !!!, its fine, just leave it as it is,,,, then I asked can I get a reimbursement on the plug as I have coverage on my tires, no ?, he just choose to ignore me. Most of the guys there are so unfriendly, they are old and seems they are just buying time until retirement.... Woke up on a Monday morning after a wonderful weekend, walked over to my car to go to work, and saw a flat. Screw in the tire - what a way to start the week! But I'm a man, I can change my own tire, so 45 minutes later I'm driving around on my donut looking for a place to repair my flat. First I decided to stop by the Jeep dealership, figured I could get an oil change at the same time. But there was a huge wait on the no appointment line, so I moved on. Next I drove over to Mavis tire, cause they're only 5 minutes from work. Figured I could drop off the car and walk to work. They were closed, and open at 8. It was 7:30. So I decided to pull out the ol Iphone and see what else was around. I found Goodyear was nearby, and decided to call and see if they were open. The conversation went something like this: Me: Hi, are you open? Rude Guy: (sarcastically) Yeah, we've been open since 7.... Me: Ok, I have a flat tire, is this something you can help me with? Rude Guy: (sarcastically) I don't know, you'd have to bring it in so I can look at it. Me: Ok, thanks... So even thought I felt the guy was being a dick for no reason, I went on over just to get this taken care of. I walk in, wait for about 10 minutes before someone comes over to help, and finally get them to take a look at my tire. They say that it will be about an hour to fix it. Ok, I expected that. Go off to work, come back a few hours later, wait for another 10 minutes, pay the bill, and off I go. So yes, they did fix my flat tire, but it could have been a nicer experience. Service isn't just slow, its nonexistent. I was told changing a tire on my lunch break would take 45 minutes, its already taking an hour. I stood at the front desk while a man was on hold on the phone and another gentleman was helping a woman. For 10 minutes two men did not even say "we'll be with you in a moment " This place tries to up sell you the alignment. I literally had one 4 days ago, but "things look pretty out of whack!". Right. This place has always left me with a bad taste. Every time I go there for service I get a flat shortly after, not insinuating anything, but it's been a pattern. Time after time I got my brakes done here and had the loudest grinding noise on my brakes, luckily I was under warranty and got the problem fixed at different location ( Goodyear). I was told they failed to put a piece back on my brakes. I can understand making a mistake, but failing to put the backing piece on my brakes and putting my life in jeopardy is absolutely unacceptable, and poor business practice. Was visiting from out of town, and was driving with a friend that just got an oil change done somewhere else. As we were driving home the oil pressure light began flickering on the highway. Had no idea what it could be since we just got an oil change elsewhere. Pulled into the first place we saw, which was Goodyear. Immediately was greeted by a man named Michael. Michael took his time with the situation. He was curtious and very helpful. We decided to do a 2nd oil change, which revealed the issue, the other place over tightened the oil filter cap and damaged the spring, causing the filter to twist. Instead of charging for the complete oil change, which he had every right to do. John just charged for the filter. And simply told us to come back again. We will definitely come back. My boyfriend car breaks down right near this place. No warning signs nothing. We have never been her but we said let's check it out. We go in on a Saturday. The guys say leave the car they will check it out and contact us to tell us what the problem is and the price. It is now Monday and nothing. No calls nothing. So my boyfriend calls the shop and a guy name Joe picks up. He is so rude,disgusting and disrespectful. He tells him to just come pick up in a rude tone. So we drive there to see what the problem is and once again this troll Joe is at the desk being so dam rude, unprofessional and disrespectful. He has no patience and really needs to be fired. If I could give zero stars I would. Brought my truck in to get tires I bought offsite mounted and balanced. After two hours they invoiced me and said it was done. Went outside as it was closing time and the old tires were still on the truck. For a second I thought I was in the twilight zone and when it settled in my thoughts was are these guys fucking with me?! Went in and they said they couldn't do it. What?! Then said they could probably do it the next day. Got my money credited back and left. These guys are a total garbage shop. Don't ever use them. All they had to say was we didn't do it.
