You can make an appointment online, they will take your car at your allotted time but it will be hours before they actually start working on it. If you think waiting for your car changes things, it does not. A job that should take at most 2 hours has become a 5 hour wait. read more

Very unprofessional service. Brought my vompany car at 3:45 pm for a simple oil chang and maintenance. They staff said they have to submit and wait for approval. After one hour nothing. They said I had to wait. Called the fleet company and they never received the request. I asked for my key and as I was approaching to the car a technician Pull in the car open the hood and added some type of foam to the engine. I got it on my dash cam. Shame on this people. read more

In 2023 I used Pep Boys for some services. At that time I had to wait for my vehicle at their shop and I waited for 5 hours. I wrote a review at that time and I received a response of apology. I decided,against my better judgment to possibly use them again. I had a flat tire and because of my elderly years that I was going to change all 4 tires to avoid any future trouble with tires that had 63k miles on them. I called Pep Boys ,as it was late on Sat night, to schedule an appointment. I asked if I could bring my car the following day(Sunday) to get new tires and an oil change. He asked me the tire model that I needed and told me that he had 4 tires priced at $147 per tire. I said that's fine and I explained about my previous experience of waiting 5 hours. He told me thstnit would take 2 hours. I said I'd come in at 11am and he said fine. Now,I get to Pep Boys at 11 am and Kelvin takes care of me. He looks at his computer and lo and behold he only has 1 of the tire that I discussed the night before. He had only a cheap tire for $109.00 and I had no choice because the other tire that he had 4 of was a 220$ tire which was way out of my budget,so I said fine to the $109 tire. I explained about the 5 hour wait before and told him they told me 2 hours. He shook his head and said the car would be ready by 2pm which is 3 Hours. I said ,that still beats 5 hours. You would think( I owned a retail business) that considering my previous bad experienc he would make sure that the same thing wouldn't happen. Obviously he couldn't care less because this time i waited 41/2 hours. My var was done at 330 and they couldn't even wash the filfth off of the new tires. I paid and I of course got an I apologize from him. I do not recommmend to anyone who needs to wait for their vehicle. Bought tires from tire buyer on 08/13 and they were shipped to this location 08/14. I made an appointment to get them installed, when I came in they said they didn't have my tires. Went home called tire buyer they said the tires were confirmed delivered, the tire buyer agent calls the location and they find the tires. Tell me to come in 08/20 11 am. I go in to drop my car at 10:45 and they ask me for an authorization number, which wasn't mentioned at all in any conversation, I was just told by the technician at pep boys to come in at 11. Fast forward the service is now done, they didn't inflate the tires, i had to fill the tires up to the pressure, and my tire pressure monitoring system is bugging out and consistently showing i have low pressure. Brought the car back in now we're waiting for them to figure out what happened. When spending all this money (and when it says in the service paperwork that the tires were inflated) you would think they would actually check the tires and make sure everything is A okay before returning the car to the customer. Update! They claimed that my tpms sensors were low on battery even though my car is only 4 years old, took the tire off and guess what, mechanic broke the sensor. Didn't want to admit it until i went back and forth and literally begged them to check because i bought them a car in good condition. Don't go here, these people think you don't know your way around a car if you're a woman, thank god I know enough about my car to stand up for myself and prevent getting extra charges to replace things that they broke. read more

Made stink when I said I waited this long I want them rotated and they had to put it back up o. The lift. Only for 2 days later to get another warning of low air pressure. went in for inspection on a 2022 with 25 thousand miles. Surprisingly it failed because of front brakes and tires. They said I needed new tires because they are cupping and worn. I was very surprised because the car is somewhat new. They gave me an estimate of around a thousand dollars. I refused the work and went home and checked the tires with the a penny,dime,and a quarter. Not surprised I didn't see any part of anyone's forehead and the brake pads looked ok. So I went to another service station that I have no relationship with and the car past inspection. They did recommend to do what pep boys said but I still have some Life Left on my brakes and tires. Buyer Beware!! I was charged for services that were not performed. Danny at the front desk was unprofessional and impolite. He tried to "double-talk" the justification for the charges. Danny reluctantly issued a refund for the work not performed, but only after I was upsold on a new tire. The Courtesy Vehicle Inspection contained different information from one four (4) days earlier when I thought I purchased an alignment. The car is in worse condition than when I brought it in. I was looking for a place that was able to deal with a Tesla tire repair or change in my area - well look no further.Anyway, these folks have the experience & tools to deal with lifting Teslas given their battery paraphernalia in the under carriage. I had to get a tired fixed & found that their rates are also pretty reasonable. For the tire itself I would recommend buying it online from tire rack and getting it delivered to the repair shop. read more

The staff is very nice and professional here. I came in last minute tonight because I got pulled over do to my break light being out and I had to get it fixed in 24 hours. They took me without an appointment and I only had to wait about 20 mins for my car to be fixed...even though they were working on multiple cars at the same time. The waiting area is small, but they have wifi and a bunch of outlets so you can charge your devices while you surf the web. There's also a tv. Break light repair only cost $18..which is fairly cheap in my opinion. read more

A complete disaster for a business. Purchased tires online at very great price. Decided to go with their recommended installer (Pep Boys) and decided with this particular location. The tire retailer handled everything from shipping to tires and scheduling appointment. Tires were shipped timely and arrived in two days (except one that had it's labeled missing and so they had to redo a label but it was there the very next day). The scheduler at the tire retailer confirmed with both FedEx and Pep Boys location that they received tires. Then we scheduled an appointment for two days later and said Daniel at Pep Boys would take care of me. I go to appointment, arrive 30 mins early, S/W Daniel, give all my info, my car keys, and told they'll call me when the car is ready (approx two hours). I decided I'd go and get lunch since appointment was at 1pm. I come back at 1:45pm and still see my car parked in customer parking not moved. I go in and ask if there's a delay. Only at that moment I'm told that one tire is missing and that it must not have been delivered. I remember obtaining proof of delivery confirmations from FedEx the days they were delivered and showed him the one for the tire that came a day late. He says "don't know, we don't have it, don't know what to tell you; you need to call the retailer or Fed Ex". Now, it was a Saturday and the retailer was not available, but Fed Ex virtual assistant provided me with the proof of delivery confirmation, so I showed it to him again. But Mr. Daniel says, "I don't know what to tell you". So I asked if he could call Fed Ex to which he replied, "we don't get involved when it's a 3rd party purchase". So then I asked why was the appointment scheduled if you didn't have the 4th tire; the retailer scheduler confirmed delivery of all 4 tires and was told Saturday appointment was available. Daniel just shrugged me off and said "don't know what to tell you". I even made him aware that both shipments were signed for and showed him the names. I said if you didn't have the tire, why didn't you notify me and postpone or reschedule before me going there and wasting my Sat afternoon All I get back was to call the tire retailer on following Monday to find out about the missing tire and re-schedule. I called them and they even confirmed that their records show the tires were received and confirmed with Pep Boys and that they wouldnt have scheduled an appointment without that confirmattion. They then said they would call Pep Boys again and re-confirm. Now they were told that they had all four tires and that Pep Boys would call to re-schedule. Nope wasn't going to deal with the Pep Boys any further. So, I told them I wanted to cancel/return my order and obtain a refund. Thankfully, I was fully refunded. Now I normally don't do this Yelp review thng or hold a grudge, but the lack of consideration, courteousness, and just plain professionalism I exhibited from this Hicksville Pep Boys (particularly Daniel - who by the way seemed clueless) was just something I had to make others aware of. And then they tried to charge me by selling me brakes seeing the pads were no good and that would cost me $500. Wow unfortunately I have to add a poor review to the less than stellar reviews that already exist on Yelp. Let me preface this review by noting that I have come here for tire-related issues on about 4-5 occasions in the past, and have had good experiences. I have a 2006 Toyota Corolla, and Pep Boys previously offered a cheap Starfire Tire for about ~$50 that I had installed several times when my tires blew up. I'm always extremely cautious about car repair, and I have to say that my experiences prior to my last visit were satisfactory. However, this all changed the last time I came on 7/20/17. I had a flat tire and asked Pep Boys to repair it. I spoke with a young man named Shak. Shak was nice enough and told me that I'd have to wait a bit, so I went and ate Taco Bell while they checked out my issue. I got a call from Pep Boys to come back. When I did, I linked up with Shak again who told me they couldn't fix my tire because the drywall was blown. I asked to see my tire and for him to point it out. So he showed me my tire and said: 'See this? Your dry wall is done and we can't repair it so you'll need a new tire.' I'm not very knowledgeable on cars and I didn't see what he was talking about, but I figured they probably know better than me so I accepted his explanation. So I asked how much a new tire would cost. Shak told me that the cheapest tire, with installation included, would cost $110. I was like whoa, what happened to the Starfire tires you guys had a while ago? He said they don't carry them anymore. I was like damn that's pretty expensive and politely declined. I then took my tire over to Mavis Discount Tire at Broadway Mall where the dude told me that they had $50 tires that were $76 after installation. I needed to get this done quick so I went to Mavis. I asked them to check my flat tire first before they replaced it just in case. I went for a walk at Broadway Mall while they were working on it. Lo and Behold: I came back and saw that they put my flat tire back on. I spoke with the guy and he explained that the only thing wrong with my flat was the valve. They replaced it for me for a grand total of $21.71. Thus I spent $21.71 on fixing my tire as opposed to the $110 that Pep Boys wanted to charge me to replace it. I don't like to jump to conclusions, but I think the only reasonable conclusion here is that Pep Boys tried to rip me off. I don't take kindly to this, and will never go to a Pep Boys again. 9/24/17 Yesterday the battery light went on in my car. I brought the car to my reliable mechanic who said that the battery is fine (only 1 year old) but the alternator needs to be replaced. I had bought an alternator at another Pep Boys a few years ago. It had a lifetime warranty. Therefore, I came in to replace it. After a 2 hour wait and a $15 fee to check my car they told me that it was the battery. They didn't want to replace the alternator. I am the stereotypical woman when it comes to car repairs but I had already been fooled this way once in the past. I had been forced to buy a new battery when my current battery was fine, only to need to purchase an alternator the following day. This time I insisted the alternator be replaced. Once it was, they admitted that the old alternator had acutally been broken. Although I was almost fooled (again), I am glad that the mechanics listened to me and honored the Pep Boys warranty. I still had to pay for the "evaluation fee" and labor fees. This time I also purchased the labor warranty to cover labor fees, should replacement be required again. read more

My daughter's fiancé had an appointment for an oil change. He dropped off his car and gave the guy the key. My daughter's fiancé (Brian) left and got a phone call like 8 minutes later. The person on the phone said the key wasn't working. Brian goes back to the store and the mother board was now missing from the key. Brian drove the car with this key to the store. Now the key makes noise when you shake it and is obviously lighter. Brian asked for a manager. A man with a beard came out eventually and never introduced himself. The staff and this alleged manager accused Brian of handing them a shell with no motherboard. How did he get the car there then? Brian asked to see the closed circuit video and he was told, we can't let you do that. About 30 minutes go by and miraculously the motherboard was found "on the floor in the workshop". How did it get there, no one had an answer. A few minutes later they gave him the key back with no explanation and no apology. But if he didn't make a big deal about it with my daughter, Someone would have walked off with the motherboard. That costs an average of $200 to replace. No explanation, no apology for accusing Brian of handing in a broken key. Very poor and unprofessional behavior. If I could give ZERO stars I would. read more

ZERO STARS Don't do it. Not worth the aggravation I made an 11am appointment online. I arrived promptly at 11am to 3 empty service desks. One worker of Indian descent with glasses with the name "Chris" on his Pep Boys jacket told me that my car would be ready in 30 minutes. It was at this time that Chris entered my car information into the computer. Only later did I notice that he put my car in for a 12:30 appointment (even though I arrived early for my 11am appointment). For over an hour, I watched inept workers chug their gallon water jugs, eat chips, and watch videos on their smart phones. Basically they did everything EXCEPT work. When I inquired to Assistant Service Manager with the name "Brandly" on his Pep Boys shirt why I had waiting so long, he just gave me a blank stare. I wouldn't go here if you paid me. read more

So I've been to this pepboys a bunch of times at this point (out of necessity mostly, i would prefer not to have to go here.) usually just for something very simple, like oil changes, check brake noise etc. in the past, I have had issues, but they've always been pretty helpful about it, will offer to check etc. this time was different. not only was there no one available at the desk when i came in, but even though they saw me through the window it still took a long time for anyone to come over, which is understandable if they are very busy. they were not, there was no one there. but that's fine, I don't mind waiting. They finally get someone over to me & he's got an attitude. whatever, i don't care too much, just need to drop this off for my oil change and get out. they call me a little later and tell me i need new brake pads. i really don't want to have them change it out, but i'm in a rush & going out of town for the weekend so I cannot go to my regular garage so I agree to have them do it. pick up the car no big deal. Here's the issue. So I had an appointment to get new tires put on my car later in the week, and was just waiting on the shipment. As I check my car before I go to get the new tires, I'm looking at the ones I already have on my car and realizing they are bald as hell, which makes sense. BUT. the part that doesn't make sense is that the two front tires on my car ARE NOT MY TIRES. My car had 4 factory tires, from the dealership that were ALL THE SAME BRAND. after I picked it up from PEPBOYS, my two front tires ARE NOT THE SAME BRAND AS MY BACK TIRES, and the front two tires are in TERRIBLE CONDITION. I AM IN SHOCK. It's not just an oversight, they are very obviously NOT MY TIRES. but there's really nothing I can do about it & what's the point of even trying to call, when there's no real proof. So i cut my losses and just let it go, but you can bet I will put a yelp review & i will never go here again if my life depended on it. freaking ridiculous. read more

Went here b/c my usual, reliable and excellent place had top rated tires on back order. Had some reluctance but needed tires. Employee in tire department looked up tires and prices on computer - he started w/retail (non-sale/list) price and gave discounted quote. Still higher than most stores. Said he may be able to do something on price. This is a less than transparent way to sell. I won't go here again and would suggest friends and family do the same. read more

Need to lower my rating. Since I bought tires here I have a warranty. So I came in and asked them to try and find and fix a leak. (I had been filling my tires once a week for a few). They found none. That was two weeks ago. I had to take the car to the dealer a couple days ago for a recall. They found the leak within minutes. So now I'm back at pep boys waiting again for them to fix it. You have to love a place like this - go in for a light bulb for the car and leave $200 lighter with all kinds of cleaning, waxing, detailing products you didn't know you needed! The place is huge, brightly lit and has anything you need to repair your car and if you don't know how to repair your car, they also do that. The prices are pretty good- particularly if they have a sale on. There is tons of help unlike some of the other chains out there. I love this place. read more

Came in to get my car balance, was told that it be better to get a overall check on the car to make sure it was just the balance causing the shaking on the car. I was told it would only take 2 and half hours at most to get it checked up on and once they have they'd give me a call to give me the run down of any other issues the car has. Four hours later I still haven't gotten a call from them, so I gave them a call to see how's things are going then I was placed on hold for 10 minutes. I decided to walk over to check on it myself, just to see if they have just forgotten to call but as I walked by I saw my car just placed on the lifter for the inspection. i understand it maybe busy at times but i don't believe an inspection should take 4 and half hours to complete AND only started when i gave them a call.
