I made an appointment for 4:00 PM at Mavis Tires in Westbury for what should have been a simple tire replacement. It is now 6:00 PM, and my vehicle still hasn't even been touched. The most disappointing part wasn't just the delay--it was the complete lack of communication or apology from the staff. If there was an issue or they were running behind, a simple update or acknowledgment would have gone a long way. Because of this delay, I had to miss an important meeting I had scheduled for this evening. Making an appointment should mean something, and customers' time should be respected. Based on this experience, I would not recommend this location. Poor customer service, poor communication, and no regard for customers' schedules. read more

I cant express this enough .... DO NOT COME HERE !! Take it to your local mechanic or local tireshop!! , The heavy black women was VERY rude . Not to mention i paid $120 for an alignment that was clearly not done or done correctly. I took my car back to get re aligned and checked .. walking in already the women was arguing with another worker , which threw me off . After 30 mins i get a call from the angry bird they have on the front desk ... saying i need calipers .... Mind youu calipers were replaced less than 4 months ago .. im a mechanic my self and the problem is poor alignment .. over all techs are good friendly people , i understand mistakes are made which is no problem but angry bird needs to relax a little when contacting costumers. On Monday Dec 8 i was in the Mavis D.T. on Old Country Rd I purchased 2 Tires for my 20 Nissan Rouge AWD undenounced to me & according to Nissan Dealer & Google you just cannot replace only 2 tires on this AWD vehicle because the the difference between the circumference of the tread depth of the new tires & the worn tires will cause the AWD system to unevenly distribute power to all the wheels like your on a slippery surface causing the power train (differential) to overheat and basically tear itself apart causing extensive damage requiring replacement and according to the Nissan Dealer that's exactly what happened on Dec 10 I went back to Mavis and showed them the written explanation from Nissan along with the Google article backing up everything Nissan had told me and Put in writing on my repair estimate anyway to make a short story long I felt and still due that Mavis being a Tire retail store should have know this Fact and informed me about it and did not and should being a responsible dealer should at the very least except some of the responsibility for but the store Mgr wouldn't and told me to call there corp. office which I did and got only the Corp. run-around they were supposed to call me back & they did the first time and there Jr mgr. Stephane basically told me I'm sorry but there was nothing they could nor would do !! I called the Corp. Today is November 22nd. After receiving TWO calls telling me they were sending me a reimbursement check for the tire fiasco they put me through, (called 11/10/21), I STILL have not received reimbursement. First, when the company asked me for payment, they received payment IMMEDIATELY through my credit card. Reversing a credit card transaction is a simple procedure that takes minutes. You mean to tell me they are unable to do even THIS? Second, say you can't figure that out and you need to send a check (this is obviously their choice), it takes THIS LONG to get a check? We are in the same state. Is the postal service THAT slow? I verified the mailing address with them. I will keep you posted on whether or not I get a check. Maybe their making the paper the check will be on and that's why it's taking so long. smh. read more

I researched tires, selected what I wanted and was happy to see I could make an appointment online. I received a confirmation email, and a phone call confirming. I show up on the day, I am told my appointment was canceled- the associate just shrugged and had no reason why. He said he had the tire I wanted, at a higher price. He said he would honor online price which I had to find. So my appointment meant nothing, I waited over an hour for them to get to my car, and that was after I inquired about the wait. Why because they consantly make an exception and get me right in.. even yesterday on a busy Saturday morning - they even needed parts and had them over in minutes..... not hours... I found them years back when I called around for service within an hour. They have the same few people there which says something over the years.... My best friend and mother took my advice and feel the same.. when you want people that are with it, fast, get you in some how and don't invent things you don't need.. this place is super! I can haggle a bit at brake places or any auto place - but here they are reasonable and if I do look furious at any add ons they work them down.. lol (sales training ! supposed to flinch or they add more) I like this place! the guys are just nice here and fast. But if they do happen to be extra busy.... walk just two minutes west is a clean/quiet diner with wifi. The diner is easy to miss - blends in with the crowded street but is an oasis here. read more

Some of the worst customer service I have ever received. Went in for an inspection, they tell me they have no inspection stickers-so I leave. Someone from the store calls me back 20 minutes later to come back in and (maybe) the machine for the stickers would be working and if it didn't work they would honor the inspection and put the sticker on when available. Take my car back and get 700 dollars worth of work done on my car to pass inspection. No sticker for inspection. Call back twice a week for almost TWO MONTHS-still no stickers. I show up and they send me to another mavis to get the sticker and assured me there would be no issue. Had to get the car inspected AGAIN and pay for the inspection AGAIN. Not to mention my windshield wipers that were installed during the first visit have already broken. Not worth the aggravation or money to deal with people who do not care about you or your car. read more

If you just need something good enough, this place might work for you if you don't have run flat tires. I came in and asked the desk if they could fix my run flat tires, without taking a look or knowing what type of tire I had, he said I needed new ones, all run flats need to be replaced. Glad I took my ride elsewhere. Saved me $700 bucks by going elsewhere. Pros: * Competitive pricing on tires. * Customers get free rotations. * Free air late at night. Usually works if you play around with the machine. * Can do more than just tires. Cons: * Struggles with Run Flat installations. Last year they couldn't work on my powder coated rims. Went to get an inspection and I was refused service @ 4:45pm!!! The gentleman at the first desk said he couldn't do the inspection because it would take to long, and he needed to go home. I spent over $1500.00 getting new tires, rotors and breaks last year and had the inspection done which took only 15 minutes at that time for the inspection.... and today it's gonna take longer So I guess if your spending large amounts of money it's ok to do the inspection but if it's only the inspection it doesn't matter!!! Needless to say moving forward I will be giving my business elsewhere. read more

Girlfriend purchased four tires here. After we drove off, we noticed shaking of the car once we hit the highway, which means the tires were likely not balanced properly. Car was brought in the next day to be re-balanced. After that, the car continued to shake. Few days later the car was brought into the dealership to look at the issue. We were advised the tires needed to be balanced and they were. Car was fine after that. When speaking to Mavis after this, it was admitted that the balancing machine was broken and that they knew it didn't work. The sheer safety issue of this encounter is enough for me to never return. And now to top it off, they are playing games with issuing a refund regarding the balancing. read more

Took my car there for two new tires and switching out my spare. I also wanted them to check my brakes. Two days later, my tires were still not done , I went there and waited. They finally pull my car out of the bay and all 4 tires were low , so the guy had to fill them!! Crazy, this is a tire shop!!!!!!!! I told them to forget the brakes, now my brake light is going on , which wasn't on before and low brake fluid!!!! Never again, this was a horrific experience! This place is the absolute worst, no communication whatsoever. I came in to change a tire sensor that they messed up installing properly, simple 10-15 minute thing ended up taking almost 4 fucking hours. FOUR HOURS, I came in at 2:20pm and left at 6pm. For two hours I was just waiting there not being told anything. The worst part is this entire situation happened because they didn't install it right the first time. They kept saying I'm gonna be right up and only until I said something did they say "I told you, the lifts are full you have to wait till its free". ??? No you didn't, why would I just sit there I can go to the other 3 within the 5 minute drive. The kicker was, they didn't even need to lift it!! I watched them just jack up the car and do it in 10 minutes right before they closed. Save your time and money and go somewhere else, you've been warned. read more

This is one business that I would not recommend to anyone and here's why. On Saturday Feb. 13, 2021, the oil pressure light came on in my car suddenly and I did a quick search to see what was recommended and it was recommended that I might need an oil change. A quick google maps search suggested the closest place to get one was at this Mavis location. I made the appointment online for an oil change and took it there. After the "oil change" I drove the car for a few blocks an the light again came on. i called Mavis and they said to bring the car back. Their mechanic wasn't there and so I left the car because the warning said not to drive the car. So lets fast forward to Monday the 15th of Feb. Finally I get a report from Mavis that the had a technician look at the car and that I needed 2 oil sensors installed in my car. I was told that each sensor would require 2 hours of labor for each and that with labor costs and cost of the sensors, that the overall repair would cost $850. Of course I said this was nuts, and then an hour or so they got back to me and said their supervisor said it could be done for $650. I objected an told them that I would come get the car. A quick search online took me to a site called www.repairpal.com and from that site I received an estimate that such a repair job would cost below $200 and the site recommended that I take the car to Sams Auto Care at 660 Old Country Road, Westbury NY 11590. I called Sam's and they said to install the sensors takes under $30 min and if in fact all that needed to be replaced were the sensors that the job would be around $150. Now here's the good part. It was late when I got to Sam's so the car had to wait until the morning to be looked at. On the 16th, I get a text from Sam's Auto telling me that the car had no oil (now mind you I took it to Mavis for an oil change and was charged $123 for the oil change). It had no oil and there was dirt in there because it was never changed. They put the car on a lift to check for a leak and there was no leak. Now that didn't solve the problem, I did in fact need to have the sensor changed, but get this, the car only has 1 sensor. Mavis said I needed to have 2 of them changed. I contacted Mavis and they said they would view the film to prove their technician changed the oil and would get back with me. Short story is their supervisor approved for me to receive a full refund. And what did Sam's auto charge me????? They charged me $135 total for the oil change and for changing the sensor. The car runs smooth and I would warn anyone that looks to do business at Mavis.....BEWARE for their scams. I have documented proof of everything I am saying and will be filing a complaint with the better business bureau. read more

I've come here for all my tire needs, new tires, to plug a tire. Each time I come here though they try telling me there's some unrelated problem with my car than the actual reason why I went there. They try overselling things, which can be annoying and I hope people see through that. As far as pricing, they're on point with that. My biggest issue with them is the time I got new tires, they forgot to put my wheel locks back on and forgot to put the lock back in my glove compartment. When I called back when I realized a week later, they said they don't keep anything if they forget to put something back and the guy blatantly said they probably just threw it out. If you go to mavis expect a fair price but also to be hit with a list of other things that they think are wrong with your car, but may not actually be. read more

Once I arrived, a representative assisted me right away and mentioned they would take care of my car. He was courteous, efficient, and knowledgeable. By the time I turned around to sit down, someone was already backing up my vehicle to put it into the garage. Within 20 minutes, my car was done. Tire patched and 4 tires rotated.
