It's 83 acres of beautiful scenery, crystal clear water fed from an underground spring, so yesterday's water temperature was 80°. The depth varies from just 4 feet to 60 feet. There is always a slight breeze in the air, which is great for keeping away the mosquitoes. I visited for two days and saw boating, swimming, fishing, and paddle board activity. Fishing here might net you a Panfish, Largemouth Bass or a Northern Pike. Most of the lakefront properties include private docks, but there is a public access dock as well. Just gorgeous!

Extremely well-maintained and clean. This time one of my guests (I won't name names) lowered one of the boat's anchors, and it came untied. Will definitely rent from Beachside again!

The playground is titled 'Fort Cushing' and is an all wood structure, with primarily a mulch surface and a few minor spots with a rubber surface. Within the playground there are separated areas for the little kids side and the big kids side. The little kids side is fairly small, and consists of two slides, a sandpit, and a few swings. Safety note, the baby swings are crazy high off of the ground since the mulch has been worn down so much, so make sure your kiddo is secured as it would be a huge drop. The big kids side has a variety of slides, bridges, monkey bars, giant tires to climb through as well as a tire swing, and more. Note: The drop off of the covered twist slide also has a huge drop at the end from the worn down mulch. It's definitely a unique playground but if you have little kids you can't trust yet on their own you'll definitely have to be flexible and fast to get through it all. There is a huge open area filled with mature shade trees, a tall monument dedicated to the three Cushing Brothers, as well as an obelisk, and a few other memorials. The park is also situated along the Glacial Drumlin Trail. Oh, and dogs are allowed here! Plus, they have bags available for cleanup. If you're in the area, this park is definitely worth the stop!

The river bank is low and the river easily accessible via canoe or kayak. It is a favorite of the fisherman amongst us. On the northeast end of the park, you'll find a single tennis court, and though a net is up, only rarely will you see it in use. Up hill from the river, road side, there is a picnic shelter and playground, which on the other hand is frequently in use by little ones, Mom and/or Dad close at hand. Dog lovers can rejoice, your dogs are welcome here, though must be leashed. Owners are in fact frequently seen walking the grounds with their fury friends or having a game of catch. Nature enthusiast will find the trees truly grand and mystical. If you come at the right time, you might even be able to catch a glimpse of the resident white squirrel playing in the branches. Best to come and experience for yourself. Lots to see and explore. Take your time and open yourself up to a very unique experience.
