There was no Air conditioning on and it was in the upper 80's. It had a horrible odor when we walked in. We left.

Worst diving experience ever. I received 4 calls PRIOR to the dive changing the time. In the day…read moreof the dive, our dive master was changed at the last minute due to an understandable family emergency. Unfortunately, the replacement dive master was not happy to be there... complained to boat captain that hus breakfast was interrupted. He only had our 2 person party to take care of and he basically ignored us. Prior to descending, we BOTH told him we were experiencing problems with the provided masks. He said some water coming in was good ... well, thet leaked... constantly... could not keep the mask cleared. Patner gave up. Tgen, he only had me ... he completely ignored me. I was signaling tgat I had a problem.. he kept swimming...I struggled to reach him, tugged on his arm 3 TIMES to get him to look at me, he continued to swim forward ignoring me. I just surfaced alone ... neither of us trusted the dive master enough to go back in the water for tge second dive. We have been on several dives. We had never had a bad dive until this one. I reported all this to the staff at the dive shop ... she just blew me off and continued to charge us full price for 2 tank dives ... If you want a dive master who actually cares about tge safety of your dive party, DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY

I've become somewhat of a regular customer of Port Deco Divers since they opened, and I'm very…read morepleased to support a local business...and one who's earned my loyalty as a customer. I am a novice diver. Although I try to do my research and learn everything I can about scuba equipment before making a purchase, I rely on the expertise and advice of a skilled dive operator. Port Deco Divers is a great place to get that advice. As someone who just returned to diving after a long break, I needed to update my equipment. I've purchased a regulator (first and second stage, pressure gauge, inflator), a mask with corrected vision, fins, accessories, a tank, and now a drysuit. Each purchase was made with confidence as they answered all my questions and gave great advice while at the same time leaving the ultimate decision up to me with no pressure. The facility is beautiful. From it's location right on Lake Michigan (visible from the window and a stone's throw from the Port Washington marina), to the interior design of the place with great woodworking and a nautical theme, the atmosphere is terrific. They have a good selection of inventory, and clearly carry quality brands (Hollis is prominently displayed). They offer dive trips local and international, and I'm especially excited to participate in their $35 Thursday night boat dives this season...what a bargain! They have a classroom for training, and offer a wide variety of classes at a reasonable price. PADI courses are offered, as well as IANTD which seems to add a great dimension of technical diving certifications. If you're an experienced diver, you'll feel at home here. If you're new or interested in finding out about diving, this is a great place to start.

Lake Geneva Cruise Line - US Mailboat Tour June 15 - September 15

    Lake Geneva Cruise Line

Up top: Know what you're getting into. Lake Geneva Cruise Line offers cruises that range everywhere…read morefrom one hour to three-and-a-half hours. I think one hour is probably my limit on a boat, but I was on a group trip that was planned without my input, and I ended up on a cruise that was 2.5 hours. And I didn't find that out until I was seated and we were about to set sail. OK! I was in a dilly of a pickle, but it all turned out fine in the end. But the last 1.5 hours could have not existed and I would have been fine, to be honest. The first 45 minutes of my cruise were action-packed, though! I took the U.S. Mailboat Tour, which took us around Lake Geneva to some of the mansions on the lake that had mailboxes at their docks. I guess mail is still delivered this way, and Lake Geneva is one of the only places in the United States that has this kind of mail delivery. It was fun to see the mail jumpers leap off of the boat and onto the docks to quickly put mail into the mailboxes, all while the boat is moving forward. The mail jumpers have no time to stop -- they have to keep it pushing in order to jump back on the boat! I only saw one person eat it during our cruise, which I think is good. You can sit on the boat deck, which gives you the best views, but it's hella windy, and depending on the weather, can be cold. There's also seating below, which is protected from the elements. There are two restrooms on board, as well as a bar. At first, when I entered the boat and saw the bar, I thought that was weird that there was a guy behind a counter slinging alcoholic drinks. But once I set sail on a 2.5-hour journey, I understood. You need a little something, sometimes. The U.S. Mailboat Tour is very cool and a great way to learn more about Lake Geneva. I do think it could have been 1.5 hours shorter, but I'm an editor, and I'm always looking for ways to tighten things up. I think if you are kid-free and have a little drink (or two) in your hand, then a 2.5-hour cruise might suit you more.

The service was amazing, super sweet employees. The Santa cruise was a perfect amount of time and the set ups across the lake were spectacular. The story that went along with each light set up was so cute! My daughter was so excited when Santa said her name was on the nice list. The only thing I wish I knew was the left side of the boat is the place to be... we were on the right side and our window was facing the middle of the dark lake.
