I used to work downtown and had an office facing the river - I'd shake my fist in envy at all those lucky souls soaking up the sun. Today, that was me! We booked a 3-hour tour (didn't end up on a deserted island thank goodness) for a work team building thing and it was amazing. The folks working are the absolute nicest, the boats are clean and new and who doesn't like bringing your own snacks and bevvies aboard? (Don't drink and boat kids, the police boats are out there). The pricing is pretty reasonable, especially for a group - the perfect thing for work outings, friend gatherings, celebrations and general enjoyment of those blissful few weeks of Milwaukee summer.

This review is for the boat with the tiki covering. We walked from our hotel and entered around the side of the Harp building. When we got there we were greeted by a lovely 4 legged friend, as a dog lover this was lovely. Sadly, the dog did not go on our tour but a different boat. The boat itself has plenty of space for any beverages or snacks. They had ice already ready for our drinks. The seats have a bike seat cushion, but no actual pedals. There was also space at the front of the shop for us to just sit and enjoy the scenery. There are speakers on board so you can hook up to Bluetooth if you want. The captain and his first mate were excellent! They were able to tell us some interesting facts about our surroundings. They took pictures with the background of the bridge and the Milwaukee graffiti. They had a point where you could get a picture wearing the captain's hat behind the steering. It was such a lovely touch to have someone who knew when a good photo opportunity was coming up and was ready to alert us and take our picture. Half way through the trip, we took a break at a restaurant to use the bathroom. We were able to quickly order and receive fries to bring on board. The fries were soooo crispy and delicious. We had booked a public tour and ended up getting along really well the big group that was with us. Everyone was so welcoming and friendly. It helped take the whole experience to another level along with all the other little touches. We would definitely do this again. It was a nice way to see the city and to get out of the heat. I've never done a water tour like this and thoroughly enjoyed this! It was relaxing. I could see how some people would party hard on this so if you're looking for that, it's feasible.

I recently experienced the Best of the Lake Tour through the Lake Geneva Cruise Line. The boat had…read moretwo levels and both were shaded. They had a bar in the back for snacks, drinks, beer, and wine for sale to guests. Our tour was an hour long and went through the history of some of the lakefront houses, who used to own them, and how they are historic to the area. The tickets for this tour were $43 each and should be a must do when vacationing here. Be sure to check out the other tours offered as well as the Mailboat Tour! (Where the mail jumpers leap from the boat to deliver mail to the dockside mailboxes) Pro Tip: Sit on the right side of the boat if you can to get a better views of the homes.

The jazz band was great except the area they were playing at seemed like they were shoved in a corner closet - they were all casually dressed with no cohesive look to the "jazz band". For a dinner cruise at almost $100 a person i expected more. Now onto the worst part ... food the three of us ordered steak (per the details the steak was to be cooked medium which was fine for all of us). What we received was not even what I'd call steak, it was more like well done shoe leather! Best thing on the plate was the green beans (hard to mess those up!) Finish it off with the dessert- which was something out of a Costco freezer. We've been on multiple cruises with Gage this being our first dinner cruise and not sure if we will ever try one again.

We did the hour tour but wish we had done the 90min one. It was soooooooo much fun and relaxing. Watching the kayakers go by working hard while we just did slight wrist movements to move our boats was the best! We HIGHLY recommend and will DEFINITELY be back. By ourselves AND with more guests.

We talked on the phone and were able to set up a time for our boat cruise. Meeting at the Riviera dock was easy (he called prior to let us know what he was wearing and what the boat looked like so it was easy to spot him). The boat ride was so enjoyable! We brought some snacks and wine to enjoy while we learned more about Lake Geneva and the houses in the area. The sunset was pretty spectacular too! Thanks Capt Thom! He even gave us all flowers to make a wish on for the bride, it was very sweet! Thom was really knowledgable about the lake and we enjoyed the interesting facts he shared about the various beautiful lakefront properties. We cruised around, toured the lake, and even got to float off the boat in the water! We could not recommend him enough! If we are ever back, we would love to take another trip with him! I'm shocked to see that I haven't written a review for Milwaukee Boat Line…read more I took my first cruise, a private event, shortly after Covid started lifting. It was an evening cruise and the event was lovely. The boats are older, but they have more outdoor capacity than the other cruise line. Why go on a boat on the river and lake shut in by glass? The sights are lovely and it feels great to get onto the lake and feel the breeze on the water. I have since done several happy hour cruises. They are affordable and the DJ, DJ Paul, is awesome. He caters really well to a mixed crowd, playing music everyone can get on board with. Beware the roving bridal showers, who are usually loud and boisterous. I've also done the later cruise, after the happy hour, which really highlights the city at night, the lights of the Hoan and the city's energy. I just tried the architecture and history cruise with a pair of friends. We learned a lot and had fun, but don't forget the sunscreen. I got a wicked burn. The bar staff are very friendly and as fast as they can be in a limited space. They also sell snacks. The boat line parking can be tricky and expensive, which can add some stress to the experience. With pre-paid packages that included parking, MKE Boat Line could be even better. Bonus - special event cruises are varied and intriguing.

We booked a Saturday at 12pm 90 minute tour and were told to arrive at about 11:30am. They let us board at that time - you need to present your online ticket / print out at the ticket booth and then they give you tickets to the boat. The boat itself has a downstairs area with port side with one women's bathroom and starboard side with one women's and one men's bathroom. You'll learn what port/starboard means during the tour. The bar with alcoholic and nonalcoholic drinks and snacks is on the first level. The second level has an area with a covered space in the back and seats open to the air on the front. Since it was a hotter day, my husband and I chose to sit on the bottom of the boat. We thought the best view there was at the front where you get a nice 180 degree view through the windows. We enjoyed the information on the tour and all the great views!
