We were told all we needed was a gas line run and a general contractor to build the wall. That wasn't accurate. The information provided was incomplete. It listed wall-support dimensions but left out critical electrical requirements and details about the non-combustible materials needed for the surround. Because of these omissions, we had unexpected extra costs for an electrician and additional materials that should have been disclosed from the start. We were also not informed that Delaware regulations prevent installers from connecting a new gas line--something they clearly knew ahead of time but didn't mention at the time of sale. This caused another unnecessary expense. What made the situation even worse was the response when we called after the installation to express our frustrations. They were flippant and dismissive, especially when it was suggested to create a checklist to help future customers avoid the same issues. If you're considering buying from them, insist on a detailed walkthrough of the entire installation process before committing--exhaust planning, electrical needs, non-combustible material requirements, and any state-specific regulations. The lack of clear communication made this more stressful and costly than it should have been.

On the pump housing, Blades put a service sticker with their phone number, approximately three inches from where the leak was happening. I thought great, I will call them and they will take care of it. When the service technician came out, he took a look at where the leak was and said that they do not service geothermal loop pumps, and charged me $125 to come say that; he was not even here ten minutes. I told him that I felt that I was being ripped off because I had described where the leak was, and they still sent someone to tell me they don't work on that part. The tech said I could take that up with the office. I called the office to describe that I would leave a critical review because of my experiences with them, and give them a chance to make it right. The guy in the office literally laughed at me and said something to the effect that just because a sticker was on the part doesn't mean they service that exact part. Their four-hour service windows without updates make it difficult to plan when they may be able to come out. Had to reschedule a prior service call because the technician did not come out until about 12:15 when they had given me a window from 8-12. I do not recommend using Blades HVAC. My problem with them applies to the other smaller places in the area as well. We are looking at granite or stone countertops and I can't even get any ballpark figure as to how much money it's gonna cost me. If I go to Home Depot, at least know how much of the stone is and I can ballpark estimate the cost of the job. for them, I told it will be "three weeks" till the owner can come out and look and give me an estimate. I am here now not in three weeks and that likely applies to a lot of people on the shore and pushes people to the big box stores to buy their granite. I would prefer to use this local business, but getting a cost estimate three weeks in the future is not helpful to me and precludes me from using them. If only they could post rough costs for their samples.
