Because of Darren, we do it every day! Darren refinished a ~30 year old hardwood floor that had yellowed, shown wear from traffic, had missing pieces of wood, and damage from chemical spills. From the very first time I reached out, his communication was excellent. He visited our home to see the floor, take measurements, and recommend and explain a refinishing process. Darren gave us options for type of polyurethane, colors, finish (matte vs. gloss) while offering recommendations from his many decades of experience. Within several hours we had a very fair quote and were booked several weeks out. Darren spent a few days on property and was incredibly respectful of our home and us when we would ask a question or two. It's now June so I've had time to settle in with my carpet and wanted to provide a review of the experience. I read lots of reviews and research things to death before I make a decision so I don't give people a high rating just to be "nice". I also consider myself to be be a little hard to please because I'm used to doing a lot of work on my home myself and I have a high standard of quality while being thrifty. That being said, I shopped around a few quotes and came back to FlooringRVA. Long story short...I felt the price I paid for what I wanted was spot on. I had a good experience with the two man crew that came to install the carpet and padding. And 6 months later things are still meeting my expectations. Robert, the owner, was the real reason behind going with FlooringRVA a second time. He personally came to measure and offer suggestions. I preferred to text and Robert made himself available at all times throughout the day when I had questions. I didn't always expect an immediate response but one was always received. I could tell he and his staff were committed to my being satisfied throughout every step in the process and I couldn't find that level of customer focus with any other competitor. I am writing this review so that no one else has the unfortunate experience we have had at…read moreRichmond's Flooring RVA. After more than two years we are left with a poor flooring installation, no concrete plan to remedy the situation, and very little communication from the company's owner and president despite our many attempts to call, email, or visit him in the store. (Important update: I originally posted this review in July at which point the owner called me and promised to take care of the situation. After a few texts from him, he is once again ignoring our calls. He promised to get back to us no later than today, Friday, October 16, but it is 9:00 pm and we have heard nothing from him.) In the spring of 2024, we had Flooring RVA install wood flooring throughout our home. Even on the first day of installation, we noticed uneven boards and brought it to the attention of the installers; however, they did not address our concerns and there was no one on site to oversee them. As a result, the installation continued with many uneven boards plus some damage to our drywall, a broken outlet cover, and a poorly-done transition to one of our bathrooms. We did not have the "detailed walkthrough" referenced on the store's website at the conclusion of our installation, and the only communication we had from the store manager was a request for us to pay our remaining balance. Over the next few months we tried repeatedly to have our concerns addressed,, finally coming into the store to speak with the manager directly. After our visit, he did send an inspector out to document our concerns. The inspector took many pictures and new flooring was ordered. An installer arrived but did not feel comfortable installing the new flooring because he felt that the problem was with the wood itself. We were not comfortable paying the remaining balance of our job, but we were told that in order to submit the manufacturing warranty, we would need to do so, which we did. The warranty claim was submitted in late March 2025. Many months passed with no communication from the manufacturer nor from Flooring RVA, so again we reached out. Finally, a year later after many calls on our part, the inspector from the manufacturer and the original inspector from Flooring RVA came out. We were told that we would hear something within 40 days. It has now been over three months since that inspection and again, we have not heard anything. We have been told that the owner of the business is in charge of our situation, but throughout this entire process he has not answered emails or returned our calls. I will say that any time I have called the employees working on the floor have been friendly and as helpful as they can be, given that they do not have the authority to resolve this situation. For over two years, we have tried to work with this company without success and not until now, are we posting a negative review. We do so in order to prevent others from having our experience.

The staff was incredibly helpful, patient and knowledgeable. They install quickly and professionally. The price was in our range and they even work with you if you need financing. We had such a good experience on our initial visit, that when my mom wanted to do the floors in her sunroom, we went back to Jeter's! They had a fabulous selection of indoor/outdoor rugs and we purchased one that lasted for years! Repeat business? You bet!! When I needed a carpet remnant for our spare room, we went back to Jeter's! I even found a cute cheetah print area rug that I bought on a whim! Love it! It's obvious why their customers keep coming back again and again! Long story short, this contractor bust suspense and went over budget - two things that are super important for contractors. On top of that Mr. Dale Hurt (owner) damaged the property and did not take accountability for his actions. When I addressed my concerns he became very disrespectful and threatening to both myself and elderly mother. Because Mr. Hurt breached contract and damaged my mothers property I did not pay him the remainder of the contract until he agreed to work with me to fix what he'd broken. He was content with leaving my mother without lights and power in bedrooms and sued me for the remainder of the contract. I countersued for the damages and breach of contract. The judge took one look at the pictures included here (Mr. Dales attempts at staining hardwoods) and ruled in my favor. This post is not to bad talk a contractor because there is plenty more I could say, it is to warn the next person who might not have the money to go to court to fight for what's right. It is to prevent the next older person from being taken advantage of. And hopefully, will help Mr. Dale do better work and stay professional. At least to die unto others the way he would want someone to do towards him. Operate ethically, and have some integrity. Further, due to my interaction with this person, I'm sure he'll post a retort, when he does know that I'll not go back and forth with him here, but if you want more specific details please contact me here and I'll give you more details if it will help you make a decision.
