What can I say about Brian Tyrrell? Brian totally flipped the inside of my home. There were a lot…read moreof negative interpersonal and communication issues in dealing with this contractor. 1st he was the only contractor I have ever dealt with so I have nothing to compare. However, I have a good friend that is a real estate agent and has dealt with many and was told "they're all a pain in the ass." One thing I will say about Brian is he held his promise in regards to my house. He told me "I'm gonna make this thing shine" and that is exactly what he did. His recommendations were helpful and I believe his pricing was very fair. The quality of his work was also good. He gets 0 stars due to all the interpersonal and communication issues I had to deal with. When I tried to fire him and asked for a refund of the $8000 deposit I gave him on day 2 of project start, he told me to sue him for it. It was like being emotionally raped over and over. He had me in a very difficult position as I was a single woman and lived out of state and he took full advantage of it. The quality of his work gets 3stars as it was good but average. I got what a paid for (besides the emotional distress. My house did look really nice when he was done but it was a fight the whole way. If you are a single woman, I would look around a little more or if you have a strong man in your life (brother, dad, boyfriend) that will be able to deal with him, you could give him a try. He's a salesman and will seem like an up n up guy but if anything goes wrong you will see the wolf under the sheep costume. If you are married and your husband is strong and not a passive wuss, I would say give him a try but there are a lot of options out there without all the potential BS you may have to deal with. I would never hire him again do work for me or even recommend him to an enemy (if I had any ).

I'm very pleased so far with JLC. As a single-income homeowner, I was on a very limited budget…read morebut really needed to change out my masonite siding (though I was not at the best time of my life to do so and friends and family were reminding me of such). But JLC were competitive--without skimping on product or workmanship quality. Not only were they responsive to all questions & concerns, but they were timely and clean. There is something more I'd like to add (without trying to sound too melodramatic): As a single woman, many companies take advantage and/ or dismiss our worries, but I really could not afford (financially or mentally) ANYTHING to go wrong, so when I responded about a few things that weren't done quite right, they responded immediately to come and correct those things until I was satisfied. That said, I will be contacting Jacob's Ladder again for all future home improvement projects.

We have used Antique Floors twice, once in 2014 and in 2023, and were very pleased both times with…read morethe quality and finish of our antique heart pine floors. Our house was built in 1905 and the bedroom floors had been covered with carpeting when we purchased our home. The floors were dry, had no finish on them, and were splattered with paint in may places. We figured that most companies wouldn't want to take on our floors because of their poor condition and not being experienced working with antique heart pine Mr. Moore brought our floors back to life, they look absolutely beautiful. We highly recommend Antique Floors; the price we were quoted in the contract was the price we paid. Susan and Dietmar Mossem

We had Daniel Moore of Antique Floors do our downstairs a year ago. I would never recommend him to…read moreanyone! He installed cracked floor boards, quite a few weren't even nailed on the joists, so they would literally bend if you stepped on them. He was terrible to work with and definitely overpriced. The only reason that our floor ended up decent at all was because we refused to pay him his last draw until ever single thing wrong was fixed to our satisfaction. Recently I found out that he picks up day workers as his labor instead of having an actual crew. He was a nightmare. Do not hire this man!!
