If you buy an electric vehicle from this dealership, this dealership will tell you that "maybe" "you "will be able to get the tax credit but they know that they are not part of the federal or state incentives programs. So basically, if you buy electric here you will not get any government incentives no matter if you try. In order to get the sale, they will tell you that you can apply for the rebate on your own but will refuse to provide documentation because they want nothing to do with the state or federal paperwork. read more

I purchased my car roughly 1 year ago now. Since then I have had the same issue. STILL having the issue. I was told it was an O2 intake sensor, I was given a tune-up without discussing that I was in need of one "which I was not", I was told it was a battery, etc. They made it seem as if it was all in my head. When the O2 sensor was fixed he said the mechanic drove it for 20 miles and everything checked out. Well that was not the truth. I have been given the run arounds for ever now. So, after writing one review I received a call back explained the issue AGAIN and the woman stated she would have a manager call me back lol yeah right months later still no call. So, I call about 2 weeks ago asking for a copy off my warranty. The guy goes on telling me how I have a warranty of x amount of years and up to x amount of miles, how it is covered only under a Ford dealer (okay I have a Chevrolet he switches up again) . During conversation, I am correcting him and he is saying how I am right. OKAY try again. So I keep asking to send a copy of my warranty that is all I called for. He goes on and ask me what is wrong with my vehicle. I repeat myself AGAIN "Sir can you send me a copy of my warranty because your team clearly are not listening to me about my car". I have put money into fixing the unbroken just to have the broken unfixed. I feel like they should have switched me cars at an even trade. My rating is going lower and lower. read more

Made an appointment to buy a truck. 50 minutes into an hour drive and 10 minutes from my appointment time Nick Reece calls and says the truck was sold yesterday. Then proceeds to laugh and says I guess we should have asked more money for it! Really? Mike Murphy Ford is the worst dealership I have ever dealt with in my life. My hybrid Fusion was towed to their dealership in January 2021 and they have yet to diagnose it as of March 25, 2021. I purchased the car at another dealership in Morton, but it was sent to MMF since they're the local Ford warranty repair shop. After a month and a half I called a few times and even stopped in the dealership just to see what was taking so long. They never communicated with me or the dealership I purchased it from. They ignored our calls many of times. After two months went by, the situation wasn't getting resolved so I emailed them letting them know I would be calling corporate for assistance, since no one at MMF ever kept me in the loop or communicated with me. My car sat on MMF's lot for nearly a quarter of a year and they didn't work on it at all. They could not even tell me what the problem was because they probably spent a grand total of 10 minutes on it in nearly 3 months. The service manager, Mitch was very rude and didn't apologize or explain what was happening. My broken car was sent back to the dealership I bought it from... apparently because they could not handle the fact that I escalated the situation, therefore they refused to do business with me possibly? This is a very poor dealership and I would not recommend it to anyone. Price may sell cars, but bad attitudes and poor service won't retain customers. Word of mouth travels fast! A McDonald's run by 16 year olds at midnight would be more efficient than MMF! I wouldn't even give them a 1 star, because honestly, a 1 star is a little excessive. read more

Updating a previous ongoing problem with thi dealership, employees are deceitful, rude and unprofessional, you will be wise to avoid a purchase here. Bought a truck in February, has since been in for major transmission repair twice, still the same problems, poor communication from service and sales department. Steering rack replacement within 100 miles of buying the vehicle. Had the vehicle aligned, vehicle still pulls to the left. The sales manager when asked to make it right claims none of this was the dealerships fault and or problem, was upset that I wrote a bad review on google. To which my response was if you want better reviews , do better business. I have had my vehicle for a total of 30 days in the 3 months I've owned and made payments on it. My reviews will reflect the quality of service, if this business wants good review from me then they should make this situation right. Instead of making excuses it's my hard earned money down the drain. As it stands now I would not recommend Mike Murphy to an enemy let alone a friend. Buyers beware!!!! I beg anyone who has had a similar experience, (which talking with coworkers and friends, has been many) to write a review and to let potential buyers know what kind of business they are running. I was able to get there and they replaced my battery quickly, and I was back on the road in no time. Have had the Explorer now for 2 years, last year told them about a leather back seat with problems. They accused me of having had a car seat in the back passenger seat. The only reason I rate this dealership with one star is because it doesn't allow a zero rating. On 11/20/17, I visited this dealership with hopes of purchasing a used car. I had an appointment set up with Jimmy Howard, After numerous text messages, we agreed to meet at noon. After driving over an hour, I was told he was at lunch when I arrived. This would have been acceptable if he wasn't at the dealership due to a sick child, was with another customer, or something else out of his control. Out to lunch? Unacceptable. Not only a waste of time, but a wasted day off work. I emailed the owner and he stumbled over his voicemail that evening. I was promised a phone call the following morning by a member of the dealership, which was never received. If this is the kind of response you would expect from a dealership, pick this place! I've heard great things about this dealership, but from an insurance aspect, I will never work with them. I had a customer who was purchasing a new vehicle through Mike Murphy Ford, but had not yet signed the paperwork. I let the customer know that I cannot remove the coverage on her current car until she owns the new car. Within five minutes of that conversation, I had Anthony Davis, her salesman on the phone telling me that he needs this new car covered now; paperwork was still unsigned. There were two more calls after that with Mr. Davis being just as pushy. When my phone cut out, he called back and accused me of hanging up on him because I "didn't want to do my job". would be negative stars if it was possible...my wife took her car in for an oil change and to get a tire with a peice of metal in it fixed. they are so incompetent with their jobs they rotated the tired instead of fixing the visible metal in the tire. further more when we where dropping her car off at lunch i was driving through the parking lot and one of their works comes flying around the corner in the monicals pizza car taking into the service shop not only was he driving really fast for being in a parking lot he also didnt look and took the conrer short and almost ran straight into my truck. now my truck would have been fine but they would have had to explain to monicals why their car was wrecked by their carless employee driving a customers car like he stole it. from last time when they had the car for 3 days for a simple fix that they didnt even pull our car in for 2 days i should have k own better that to trust these people with my vehicle. never again will they touch my car or truck and i recommend as strongly as i possibly can that no one else makes the grave mistake of letting these idoits touch their vehicles. they might wreck it in the parking lot. or might forget to out the lug nuts back on your tires. either way i wouldnt trust them with my vehicles that my family will be riding in and risking their lives. read more

Great Dearleship on my previous purchases but sold me a lemon this time and two years in we are still fighting with it. We bought a 2011 Ford Explorer, they informed us at the time of purchase that is was a "buy back" but ASSURED us everything was fixed. 6 months down the road the car would not start "no key detected". Since it was going to be 1.5 hours till we could get help we googled on our phones and it was suggested that we pull the battery cables, this reboots the computer. Sure enough it started and we were on our way. We called the dealer to get it to be looked at and were told there was nothing they could do, it was no longer broken and that we "fixed" it. My salesman Nathan Noyes informed me that if I had bought a $100 dollar bike and the chain fell off and I put the chain back on that I would not bring in to be fixed. I explained that I did not buy a $100 bike I bought a $40,000 car and it left me stranded in another city. Long story short after persistence they finally agreed to look at the car and reported nothing was wrong. The car has continued to have issues and we now carry a wrench to pull the battery cables so that we can start the car. After a while the resetting of the computer no longer worked. We took it back in and they said yes the computer module was faulty and repleaced it. Not even one oil change in to having the new computer installed my husband and I get in the car and start it and we got a message that the oil pressure was low and the car sounded like it was going to die, husband went to give it gas, the pedal went to the floor and nothing. After trying again we looked at the oil to make sure something had not happened, oil was fine. We looked at one another and said "GET THE WRENCH" Yes you guessed it, pulled the battery cables, let is sit for a minute, and then it started fine. So lesson learned make sure you get a wrench with your new car!' read more

The car fax shows brakes fixed by 1st owner....Mike Murphy fixed brakes again when they got it.( I bought it with 28000 miles)..Now with 48000 miles the brakes are grinding....I have the extended warranty...I think I will take my chances elsewhere...They obviously can't fix anything!!!! On 3/27/18 I went to mm ford for an oil change and front wiper blades replacement, about an hour and a half later my car was done, on my way home I noticed my vsc light on, I have never seen this on before, so I called mm ford and got an answering machine, I left a message, in fact over the past week I have left 4 messages on 2 different answering machines, and no one has bothered to call me back, I have never seen a service shop that didn't answer the phone when a customer calls. not getting a response from mm ford I took my car into Sam Leman, my vsc light was on because the mm ford employee had undone the yaw rate sensor. the mm ford employee had also done an inspection on my vehicle and found nothing of significance needing done, however Sam leman found over 3,500 in needed repairs some very necessary for safety and keeping the vehicle running long term, such as all belts cracked, all filters needing replaced, heat shield damaged loose and cracked, hole in muffler, both valve cover gaskets leaking, brakes and rotors in bad shape need replaced, plugs and wires, water pump replaced, radiator in need of a flush, transmission also, would not recommend mm ford they either don't no what there doing or don't care, I would however recommend Sam Leman of Bloomington they did a fantastic job my car runs great. read more

This was my first time buying a car and I was very nervous. I had very specific limits to what I could purchase and was a afraid I would walk out carless, but because of great reviews after looking into dealerships i was determined to purchase from this dealer. I was an unbelievably easy and pleasant experience. I was never pressured to buy anything over my budget, there was zero swindling involved which is the opposite I have heard from car buying experiences from friends and family elsewhere. They were truthful, kind, and found me the perfect car I didn't know I wanted until I was able to test drive it for a few days. They were also able to secure me a great rate through my bank so all in all from Paul, my sales guy, to Mike, my finance guy, to Mike Murphy himself who stopped in to shake my hand as I was discussing my buying options with my sales guy, everyone there is top notch. Being 3 years without a car, I am beyond grateful for this dealership and them respecting my requests and getting me into a vehicle that I LOVE, a used Toyota Scion with only 18,000 miles on it, it was basically brand new and listed for a great price! I originally went in to buy a Ford, their cars have gotten really great over the years, but they introduced me to the Scion which really fit what was looking for budget wise much better! Also, did I mention how quick the process is? Once you decide on a car, it takes an hour to an hour and a half! I rarely ever come on Yelp to write reviews and such but I felt this experience was warranted. Anyone in the surrounding areas of Morton, this is the dealership to go to. Honestly, the experience I've had with Mike Murphy's service department in the last week is by far the worst customer service I've ever dealt with. Last Thursday, I took my car into Mike Murphy to have the clutch replaced. I finally got the call Friday afternoon that it was ready to pick up. Ten minutes after I left the dealership, my transmission malfunctioned on the interstate, leaving me stranded on the side of the road. I tried calling the service department 4 times with no answer. I called the main line, and all they did was transfer me back to service with once again no answer. I called my brother and he tried calling over and over until he finally got ahold of a service advisor. He could not have been any less helpful. His response to my brother was "well I don't know what I can do for her." I had to catch a ride from a police officer back to get a loaner car and have my car towed. Monday afternoon, I still hadn't heard anything, so I called the dealership. They hadn't even looked at my car yet. I expected my car to maybe be a priority since it was most likely their error that caused me to break down, but I was wrong. I was supposed to hear from the service manager today, but I'm not surprised that I never got that call. Twenty-four hours later, I'm on my way home from school, and the car starts acting up again. Now my car jerks to a stop every time it goes to switch gears while accelerating. I'm not too hopeful on how it's going to go when I call in the morning. Needless to say, I would not recommend their service department to anyone at this point. read more

I will walk before I buy another car from Mike Murphy Ford! The car I bought had so many things wrong with it. The worst of it is that these issues had been purposely hidden from the consumer - instead of actually fixing issues, they used JB Weld to temporarily fix them (along with other ways). The engine warning light literally came on 1 block from the place when I drove it off the lot! I attempted to work with them on these issues but nothing was corrected. They bombard me with mail, email, and phone calls trying to sell me a new car. I have asked them to stop sending things and calling me but for some reason they won't - this is harassment at this point. To give you an example of their poor customer service, when I bought the car there were no floor mats. I asked the salesman (Frederick) where they were and he opened the hatchback, pointed to them, and promptly closed the hatchback - quite an assy thing to do. I don't care how philanthropic Mike Murphy is in the Morton community (this is what is said to me when I share my opinion of this dealership) - he ripped me off, wouldn't stand behind what he sold, and made no attempts to make it "right". This is the worst car buying experience I have ever had! read more
