My brother and I went for dinner and decided to split some things and we got the sushi sandwich and then split a chicken hibachi dinner. It was just perfect!!! Not too much not too little. But we obviously didn't think but ordered the fried ice cream which put us over the edge. This place is fantastic. Prices are decent service is great and the place has great vibes. great selection of food at a good price, good location in downtown glens falls and the drink prices are hard to beat

Everything at Mikado is just so fresh. Their shashimi and sushi selection is huge as well as delicious. I ordered the Squid bokum on another visit and it didn't disappoint. They have a good drink selection and variety of dining options inside and outside. read more

We visited this place on a very cold day, pho was flavorful and a delight to have. Sushi was good, not the best I have had. Fried chicken wings were nice. Plenty of sitting space and staff is warm and service is good. read more

Fantastic quality sushi is a big deal for me, and being the new girl in town, I decided to try Mikado. At first glance the menu is very eclectic, having Japanese, Korean and Vietnamese dishes and I knew I'd be all set with this array of yumminess. I've tried their lunch specials, the bento with beef bulgogi, sushi special bento and both did not disappoint. Both came with soup and salad and were very tasty! I've been at the sushi bar for a pint, a Hip Hop special sushi roll (PLEASE add this to your main menu or keep as a constant special because that smoked jalapeno was chef's kiss) and some gyoza. Those also did not disappoint. Vibe was chill, food was good, and service was great! read more

Overall, not bad, but not great sushi. Rice was a bit mushy, and my white tuna tasted fishy. We tried this place on our way back from Vermont on a Wednesday evening- Main Street was shut down to invite diners. We started with a delightful 'avacado bomb', which was delicious, and the highlight of the meal, but everything else came out in reverse order- I received in order, my secondary sushi order (an extra roll) then my main dinner (sushi regular). I asked if the soup and salad that was supposed to come with my dinner would be coming, and was assured they would be. On the next trip to my table, the salad came, followed a minute later by my appetizer, the bao buns (mediocre at best). I asked again and finally got the overly salty miso soup. My wife ordered bulgolgi bibimbap dolsot- it did not come out in a stone bowl- instead she had a pile of very wet beef, onion, pepper stir fry, with a side of white rice. Not bibimbap. The flavors were ok, but what I'd expect from a takeout Chinese place. Overall, fairly disappointing for the price point. read more

2nd review here: Love this place! The atmosphere is warm and inviting, and the food consistently hits the mark. Their sushi game is solid, fresh, balanced, and beautifully presented, and the broths for all their soups are absolutely fantastic. Deep, rich flavor that feels like it's been simmering all day. My only small critique now that I've been here many times: the noodles in the pho and ramens tend to be very overcooked for my taste. But honestly, the broth is so good that I find myself finishing the whole bowl anyway. Service is always quick, and the wait staff are genuinely friendly and attentive. It's the kind of spot that's easy to make a regular go-to that's comforting, flavorful, and reliably excellent. read more

We decided to come here my husband's belated birthday celebration due to the amazing reviews and they certainly lived up to their expectations! Peyton was our server and he was phenomenal, very kind and attentive to our needs. I loved the industrial look of the restaurant and it had really cool vibes when you walked in. Anderson was our hibachi chef and he kept us laughing the entire time he cooked. The ribeye and scallop was excellent and my husbands filet and chicken were perfect. We will be back Tue next time we're in NY! read more

Pretty disappointed with our takeout tonight. We ordered the fried rice which comes with veggies and egg as said on their website, there is no egg or veggies, just rice. We ordered crispy spring rolls for $8 and were surprised it only came with three. We also ordered tofu hibachi noodles and thought it would come with veggies too, how it normally is in the restaurant, but it's just tofu and noodles. The fried sweet potato roll was the only good thing we ordered. Prices were also more expensive than listed on the website and there was a (small) takeout fee on top of that. Sushi Wa in Fort Edward is better imo and you get a better bang for your buck. read more

Amazing all around, the Hibachi is the entire family's favorite!! Best restaurant in the area.

My husband and I have been eating here a lot lately and it's always delicious. We have been eating outside a lot but one night recently we ate inside. We were sat in the small room and there was a party of bros at the hibachi table who were so loud. It was annoying but not really the restaurants fault. Other than that I have always enjoyed eating here and I have been going since they were at the old south st locations. read more

The hibachi or the sushi you cannot go wrong. The crab Rangoon, the ramen soup or any of the hibachi is top tier. If you come here on a weekend there will probably be a wait but it's totally worth it. It's a pretty big place with the hibachi tables and all the regular tables. I would recommend this place to everyone. read more

Cory was behind the bar and kept the drinks flowing! The sushi chefs did a wonderful job on presentation and preparation of the sushi. We only came in for a small bite, but next time we're in town, we'll make it our main meal, instead of just a snack. Looking forward to returning read more

I was really hoping to enjoy the food at this restaurant, but I was very disappointed in the quality. I came here with a large group after a long day of exploring the area. We did not opt for the hibachi, just a la carte; maybe my experience would have been different had we done hibachi. Nonetheless, our waitress was friendly & polite, but my food took a long time to come out. The restaurant was packed and a bit loud, which is to be expected. However, the food was not great, lacking in flavor and care. I wish I had a better experience at this establishment. read more

We were refused service because they refused to sit 5 people outside at a table. It was 5pm on a Thursday. The restaurant was maybe 20% full. There are 4 empty tables outside that seat 4 people each. We "can we have a table for 5 outside?" And the hostess responded "No. We can't sit 5 outside" we asked if we can pull up a 5th chair and she responded "No." No explanation. Dont go here or you might have to deal with this logistics expert. We were celebrating and we're going to order a bunch of food and several rounds of drinks for the table. It's okay though. Looked super dirty in there anyway. Probably dodged a raw fish worm bullet. read more

Mikado is nice place to go for dinner. They have menu with many options, such as their fresh Poke Bowls. Their Scorpion Bowl for 2 was delicious! I'm a big fan of Shumai as well and theirs were terrific. The service was great and I was able to feel comfortable explaining my food allergies to them. Everything turned out great! The inside looked like any other Asian restaurant. If you're in Glens Falls and are in the mood for Asian food, Mikado should definitely be your top choice. 8/10 read more

This is a truly great restaurant. There are actually 4 different experiences you can have here and they're all generally well above average. It's gone down hill a little bit. It's got a lot of back kitchen stuff up front... stacks of napkins... receipts, etc. it looks a little like a takeout restaurant at the host station instead of a proper restaurant. You can eat at the bar... and get cocktails. Sit at the sushi bar and have them make special sushi dishes. You can sit at tables and order from the menu. You can do hibachi in the back... it's just OK but it's like EVERY other hibachi everywhere... and a little a lack luster. It's ok for families and date night. Go here. Don't plan to be amazed. It's just good. You'll be happy. read more

Mikado - Today is Sunday. The hours say they're open. They're not. - Japanese Near Me - Glens Falls, New York

We decided to go to Mikado for our first night out! Mikado's is a Japanese restaurant in the heart of Glens Falls New York. We started off with a garden salad and Miso Soup! The salad was okay but the Miso soup was tasty it has dashi stock with softened miso paste and green onion, tofu, and seaweed. It was done well and wasn't bland. For my meal I had Kangpung Shrimp. which is deep fried shrimp with sweet and spicy sauce. It has lots of fresh crispy vegetables carrots, green onions, onions, and broccoli. It also had mushrooms. Everything tasted fresh and seasoned well and was not salty which is always a concern of mine. The shrimp portions were generous and fried to perfection not to hard and not undercooked. We also had a signature drink which was tasty Called a Pretty Princess with Sake, peach liquor, cranberry juice and calpico. The calpico gives the drink a vanilla milky bit of flavor. Different but a good drink! read more

Probably one of my worst restaurant experiences yet Me and my sister came here with my niece and asked for a sushi boat for 2 with chefs choice of verity knowing the 3 of us could eat plenty from the boat, the server comes back with 2 bowls full of sashimi and rice...sushi and sashimi are 2 very different textures and flavor profiles if you ask for and are expecting sushi the last thing you want is 10 slabs of raw fish and after paying $90 for 2 meals the least we could of gotten was what we ordered .... we ate a few bites but it was not what we order and we're not impressed well we were packing up our food my sister asked the waiter what one of the ingredients were that she liked he proceeded to pick up that item and take it away from the table to go ask the chef what this piece of food was.... I don't think I've ever seen someone so unprofessional!! The whole meal was thrown off my his "I don't care" attitude read more

Didn't get the chance to try the food, restaurant menus were very dirty, service was friendly but didn't make eye contact.

Mikado is a beautiful asian fusion restaurant in downtown Glens Falls. You can tell that they put a lot of attention to detail in the decor and the different seating types. The same attention to detail extends to their food, which includes everything from sushi and bento boxes to Korean dishes and Vietnamese pho. There's also a hibachi area in the back, although I've only been in the more intimate seating areas. On a recent visit, we tried a variety of sushi dishes and a poke bowl. Portions were more than generous, the fish was fresh, and they were very accommodating with substitutions. I don't eat rice, so they were nice enough to substitute the bottom of my poke bowl with salad. Our server was also great and went out of his way to make sure we were taken care of. read more

My husband and I have had food from this restaurant about 5 times, both eat-in and takeout. We moved here from NYC a few months ago, LOVE ramen, and have, for the most part, enjoyed trying the local restaurants. Our experience here has been extremely hit or miss. The 1st time we got ramen, it was pretty decent. The last 2 times, it was not good at all. The noodles were completely over-cooked. Today, in particular, everything was bad. We got 2 ramens, fried rice, and spicy kani salad. The kani salad was in the same bag as the hot food, which, as a cold appetizer, is just lacking common sense. It also tasted weird, which was a huge disappointment. I've had this twice before and enjoyed it. Both ramens had overcooked noodles, and the fried rice tasted off. It's really unfortunate because if they just took some simple improvement measures, I'm sure this place would be better. We spent over $65 and don't enjoy any of our food. read more

Highly recommend. The decor and ambiance was spot on. The food was very fresh and delicious. Sapporo on draft! Service was friendly and efficient. My only criticism is the Ramen. The Tonkotsu Ramen broth was rather bland. Not complex as you would expect. I would definitely return. read more

Great food, great experience! The hibachi part is the best. Chef's are personable and make it fun.

Hibachi is good , Larry lobster roll , tuna roll , pad Thai and the list goes on . Friendly staff and overall nice atmosphere

Stopped here for dinner while in town for my kids baseball tournament. Atmosphere is great. Very young, cool energy and the service was great. All the food was also great. The thing that left me feeling unhappy was the 3.6% service charged tacked onto the bill for using a credit card. I know this is not what the card companies are charging and it just felt like a money grab. It's eating into your waitstaff's tips, Mikado. Do better. read more

I usually love this place, but today is then end for me. The person who sat us just looked angry , no personality, no talking. THEN our waiter couldn't be bothered at all. No talking , no greeting, no "can I take ur order", just stood there and waited for us to order. Lol. U would think waitstaff know their livelihood depends on at least faking a personality. Not this guy. The atmosphere is so in welcoming now. Definitely won't return read more
