Fantastic quality sushi is a big deal for me, and being the new girl in town, I decided to try Mikado. At first glance the menu is very eclectic, having Japanese, Korean and Vietnamese dishes and I knew I'd be all set with this array of yumminess. I've tried their lunch specials, the bento with beef bulgogi, sushi special bento and both did not disappoint. Both came with soup and salad and were very tasty! I've been at the sushi bar for a pint, a Hip Hop special sushi roll (PLEASE add this to your main menu or keep as a constant special because that smoked jalapeno was chef's kiss) and some gyoza. Those also did not disappoint. Vibe was chill, food was good, and service was great!

Absolutely delicious here at my second visit. Kind staff, fresh ingredients, excellent ambiance. So grateful for a superior restaurant like this here in Glens Falls!

We decided to come here my husband's belated birthday celebration due to the amazing reviews and they certainly lived up to their expectations! Peyton was our server and he was phenomenal, very kind and attentive to our needs. I loved the industrial look of the restaurant and it had really cool vibes when you walked in. Anderson was our hibachi chef and he kept us laughing the entire time he cooked. The ribeye and scallop was excellent and my husbands filet and chicken were perfect. We will be back Tue next time we're in NY!

Pretty disappointed with our takeout tonight. We ordered the fried rice which comes with veggies and egg as said on their website, there is no egg or veggies, just rice. We ordered crispy spring rolls for $8 and were surprised it only came with three. We also ordered tofu hibachi noodles and thought it would come with veggies too, how it normally is in the restaurant, but it's just tofu and noodles. The fried sweet potato roll was the only good thing we ordered. Prices were also more expensive than listed on the website and there was a (small) takeout fee on top of that. Sushi Wa in Fort Edward is better imo and you get a better bang for your buck.

My husband and I have been eating here a lot lately and it's always delicious. We have been eating outside a lot but one night recently we ate inside. We were sat in the small room and there was a party of bros at the hibachi table who were so loud. It was annoying but not really the restaurants fault. Other than that I have always enjoyed eating here and I have been going since they were at the old south st locations.

Custom Negroni as requested by a regular guest. Thanks Cory, Josh, Janet, and Tommy.

This place is so perfect. I can come with friends, family, coworkers, strangers and it's always just perfect. Service is still personal even when they're slamming Janet says hi. Cory or Josh know my drink and Tommy runs around making everyone happy. I'm addicted.

The hibachi or the sushi you cannot go wrong. The crab Rangoon, the ramen soup or any of the hibachi is top tier. If you come here on a weekend there will probably be a wait but it's totally worth it. It's a pretty big place with the hibachi tables and all the regular tables. I would recommend this place to everyone.

Our waiter was super attentive and even though it took some time for the food to come out, I think given the quality of everything we ate, it was worth it. I got the raspberry mint mojito cocktail which was delicious and I pinched a sip or two of kid's lemonade made from fresh lemons, perfect level of sweetness. We tried the sweet potato pakoras and lumpia and the trio of house made dips (we liked the green mint-e one best). Everything was tasty, including the sauces that came up with them. Our kids shared the ramen which they split into two large bowls that didn't even look like a split dish given how much it was. My wife got the spare ribs which melted off the bones and had great flavor. The scallop dish I ordered came with six scallops that were a good size and also came with some gnocci, a delicious and unique sauce, and an unusual lobster with veggie type of ceviche salad accoutrement. I have the sense that the menu changes regularly here. The chef/owner came out and greeted us after the meal to ask how everything was and we could honestly respond that it was our best meal of the week. Subsequently we tried to sample many items from their desert menu and again Bastard did not disappoint. Surprisingly the "S'Mores," a more adult take on the kid's classic, was one of our favorites. Given the unique take on a variety of globally inspired dishes and great attention to detail, I would love to try Bastard again the next time I'm in the area.

There's a small section right up front of seasonal fruit/vegetables & some items on sale. This Korean grocery store is on a busy strip of Rt. 9, not too far from Latham Traffic Circle, across from a car dealership, and shares a small lot with Tamarind Thai, a Chinese Take-out Restaurant, and a vape store. There's more parking in the back. It's a lot larger and homier than it looks on the outside. The Spring & Summer months are especially nice, they have little seedlings of starter plants on the pavement out front & a community cork board up front. There's a lot of selection of frozen mandoo (dumplings), Melona ice cream bars, fresh Kimchee, soft tofu, a small but fresh section of vegetables (chives, oyster mushrooms, napa cabbage, burdock root), LOTS of family packs of Instant Korean Ramen (Ramyun), a Back room of Korean Home Goods (decent prices, nice glass tupperware, the have THE green "Italian bath towel" scrubby mitts for $2.99! THE best exfoliation that Instagram tries to sell similar mitts for *much* more). There's aisles of snacks & candy, cooking sauces, flour & yam noodles, Korean gim/seaweed, Chili powder, Frozen seafood & rice cakes, bags of rice, dried kelp & anchovies for stock, barley & Cintron tea, banana yogurt drinks. There's other Asian products too (Thai curry paste, some Chinese & Filipino sauces). The prices are a little higher than other Asian Markets in the Capital Region, so I usually just go for specific items: Yam Noodles for a Japchae recipe, Chapaghetti black bean Instant Ramen, a seasoned Seaweed crumble topping for rice, A small pack of Chinese-Korean black bean sauce for JaJang noodles (perfect size for a solo chef, haven't seen this size portion anywhere else). Oh and Yes! You can buy a Neoguri Ramen & Chapaghetti Ramen and make some noodles like the film Parasite. ...didn't see if they had frozen beef. Not sure if it's due to the pandemic, but sometimes they're out of stock on things, so it's better to call ahead. I realized that Wal-M--t carries Shin Black Ramen now because they were always out. Overall, a really nice find and I love wandering around & looking at all the products. The staff is so kind, their friends seem to stop by often & chat in the back kitchen/fridge area. Unexpectedly came towards the end of their weekday lunch deal so got the soondubu tofu soup and the…read moreseoul long tang which I usually get anyways and was an affordable price ~$15 each? (not too sure) The tofu soup I got was mild-lightly spicy and gosh it was the spiciest soup I've ever gotten and I usually eat this and other spicy foods perfectly fine! Wasn't the best for me. Alternatively the beef soup felt a bit bland but my friend liked it. Main complaint is not much beef in the soup and it tasted very tough. alternatively not much seafood either, just tiny small bits of cheap shrimps which were a bummer. Only good thing was the decent price and decent free side dishes (not many) of which only broccoli tasted good. Food took forever to come so side dishes were a life saver although they also were never refilled which at traditional places they are. Main thing: the service was quite bad... from the moment we walked in, we didn't feel welcome as no one welcomed us, dirty tables were everywhere (like in those video games you play to clean up), and we waited awhile at the counter looking at menus until someone greeted us with an attitude yelling that counter is only for to-go and we should've just sat down if we're dining in... she huffed and sat us down, surrounded by the dirty tables. We asked if we could sit elsewhere but as big as the restaurant was, she still said half of it was closed for dinner (I know other places do the same but they were kind enough to let us sit in that area when requested) and the reason why this time, was because we were literally sitting surrounded by dirty dishes all around us - which they never cleaned up the entire hour we dined here! Very unpleasant view-never have I ever! Even our current table was sticky. And the food and service took forever. She seemed very annoyed when we ordered and whenever we asked for water or refill side dishes and gave attitude like we obviously need to wait for her to appear and be free to even ask which she was rarely seen. I never saw her treat other customers like the same way she treated us, for them, she was very patient and kind and offered menu options and even personal talk. Seems like she doesn't like tourists, just regulars. Anyways she was rarely seen throughout the meal and so I just sucked up the not so good food and we finished and took awhile to get the check. That was the only point in the interaction she seemed to be present in the restaurant. Other times she was nowhere to be seen. When paying, she loudly exclaimed what do you want to tip? In an attitude saying that, we had to tip, and it had to be a sufficient amount otherwise she'd be upset - which she was because service was not good. Even when we left and said bye, she gave us no word back and just another one of those scowled looks. Only one lady working the front and she was barely present and not pleasant. Overall food really isn't bad but it isn't amazing either. If this cuisine is what you're craving go for it, it's fairly priced. I would support a small business. But don't expect a clean restaurant or friendly service - unless youre a regular or fits the server preferred demographic. Not the best experience for me. Whole heartedly believe if service was better this could be a solid place!

I may be part of the Asian club but I'm not a part of this particular inner circle. Being Filipino…read more(or being human, for that matter), I tend to compare and contrast cuisines based on my own experience. With several Asian cuisines, rice seems to be the preferred carb. Korean black rice differs primarily in appearance - purple hue due to the mix of black and white rice. Gimbap (Kimbap) - is often described as Korean sushi. In doing some research, there's a distinct difference between the two. The seasonings used to flavor the steamed rice are salt and sesame oil. They are usually stuffed with cooked protein (beef, pork, tofu, fishcake) and pickled vegetables. They seem to be a larger diameter than maki sushi as well. Good? You betcha. Tonkatsu lunch is a favorite....think German pork schnitzel over black rice. The sauce seems to be Tteokbokki (glutinous rice cake) derived - sweet and slightly spiced. There are usually banchan (side dishes) accompanying the meal: kimchi, cucumber pickle, daikon, and eomuk (fish cake). They provide added contrast to the meal. The service has always been efficient and cordial every time I've picked up my order here.

My hubs and I had never been to Kraverie before and were happy to try a new place. I am glad that we did because we made up about 75% of the patrons on a Thursday night, which made the bar's owner quite happy. I checked out the menu before we went. OK, typical bar food but with an emphasis on kimchi (I'm not a fan). They serve chicken wings "nice or naughty (spicy)" and they were good. The dumplings (we call them potstickers) were typical, also fine. My hubs liked his taco (street-size). I ordered their Steak Salad. A disgrace. Bagged lettuce accompanied by two small slices of cucumber. The 'steak' was 1/4" size square pieces of dried out meat whose texture was like shoe leather. It was very hard to find the 'steak' in the salad which is why I didn't bother photographing it. I am being kind here. It was awful. The tables are so close together that I felt the back of the person at the table in front of me (we were back-to-back) touching me the entire time. My spouse was challenged eating his food because his chair didn't fit at the table because of the person behind him. WTF. They had one server for the entire room which included perhaps 10 tables plus the bar. This was clearly insufficient and service suffered (we don't blame her). We went to support our musician friend. We probably won't be going back.
