Overall we had a nice meal here. We arrived just after opening and the food was hot and fresh. Everything I got tasted good and as expected. Plates, cups, table, and silverware were clean. Buffet area seemed clean. Used plates were taken away promptly and drinks refilled as soon as they got low. The decor could use a good dusting and the buffet tables desperately need updating, but I can overlook that as long as the meal is good and food surfaces are clean. I do think it was a little on the pricey side - $17.99 each for the weekend lunch buffet. I did not see any items (such as crab legs or beef dishes) that would justify such a high price. That did include the beverage though.

I came to Lake George with family and we unfortunately chose 9 Dragons as our lunch spot. As we were being seated we kindly asked our server if we can take a look around at the food first prior to deciding on staying, she VERY very kindly said "No the food's not out yet, it'll be another couple minutes, are you going to do the buffet or not?" well, so much for the "nice staff" mentioned in prior reviews. On that same note, I've never been to a buffet where there's literally no food ready, besides the bad attitude and lack of food; The place isn't really well kept. The grass outside could definitely use a landscaping consultation, and there are very obvious stains on the walls around the restaurant. Finally after waiting almost 15 minutes after they opened to get food, we went and grabbed a few things. The only reason I'm even giving 2 stars is because the food was okay, at the end of the day it's buffet food, so it won't knock your socks off but it certainly did the job for the time being. Highlight of this meal was that they have Oreos, Samoas, and even Tagalongs available for dessert. Definitely a first, never coming back here again though and I will be advising others to steer clear. P.S. Don't just plant the check on a table while a table is still eating, you're just telling the table to leave when you do that.

We did enjoy the food and the service was great! The only problem I wish they would attend to is that the hot foods were not very hot.

Yeah so... this is very unlike me, but I couldn't help it... we hadn't been to a Texas Roadhouse in…read moreover a year. This weekend was my first time in Lake George, and I usually try to steer clear of chain restaurants when on road trips. Boyfriend is definitely more a chain fan and before meeting me, would only go to places like the 99, Applebees, etc - but he really appreciates local spots now. However - I make an exception for Texas Roadhouse! We had no idea there was one in Queensbury, 10 minutes from our Lake George hotel, and when we spotted it we decided to cancel our reservation for another local spot and go there instead... It was packed. 50-minute wait for a table and the fact that Boyfriend agreed to wait says a lot. I guess a lot of people take their moms out on the Saturday night for Mother's Day?? But I love a packed restaurant, so I was in my comfort zone here. Food did *not* disappoint! We had our usual... him the steak with fries and Caesar salad and I did the grilled shrimp with rice, baked potato and corn. We shared more grilled shrimp as an app - we love the lemon and garlic sauce... wish I could replicate this at home. Lastly Boyfriend is insisting I mention our waitress Lexi.... She was excellent! Super friendly and professional, very efficient! Ask to be seated in her section! We absolutely will next time we visit (because yeah, we'll be back. I'll need a two-night stay next time to also try another restaurant!)

The steaks, for the price, are unbeatable. Seasoned well and cooked perfectly almost every time.

The first time it was cooked I asked for medium and it actually was well done, too tough, almost like it has been recooked or not fresh. They were kind enough to recook a fresh steak and then it was absolutely amazing. Highly recommend. The combo plate was sadly not the best. The ribs were alright, good, but not as good as I expected but the sliced brisket ($6 add on) was sadly a disappointment. Two sides per dish. We were also able to sub a side for sautee mushroom which was yummy but also overly salty. The baked potato side was delicious though. Their cornbread wasn't the best for it as it comes cold and tasted like nyc public school breakfast food. Really appreciated the hot water service they had though. And again the ambiance was amazing! Overall a solid place. Would get steak and try something else next time too.

You win some you lose some! We've driven by The Barnsider Smokehouse many times over the years aware that it had no relationship to The Barnsider restaurant in Colonie, NY. That was reason enough to try it out. Parking is in the rear at a level much lower than the street level main entrance. I did not notice where there might be designated handicapped parking. We climbed a long flight of stairs to access the entrance. Inside is very rustic, board and beam, barnlike. We were greeted by Cayla who took us to our table with menus and said she would be our server also. In addition to their lengthy regular menu of BBQ preparations, there was also a Specials menu and a separate beverage menu of beers, wines, and cocktails. Cayla promptly returned with complimentary cornbread that was fresh, warm, light, and moist while she took our drink order for a diet Coke ($4) and a draft Northway Oat-Bituary Stout ($8). My wife had already planned on having a Reuben, a specialty at our original choice of restaurant, so it was not surprising that she opted to have the Reuben ($17.95) here with a choice of one side. I was intrigued by one of the Special Menu offerings, Barnsider BBQ Platter ($31.95), because it included something that I'd never heard of or had before - turkey burnt ends. The platter also included 1/3 rack of St Louis ribs, pulled pork, and a choice of two sides. My wife said her Reuben was a little on the dry side, not gooey enough, and the side of baked beans with pork had flavor but was pretty average. Overall, I would have enjoyed a more smokey flavoring to the ribs, pulled pork, and burnt ends. The ribs were tender enough, the pulled pork was tender, and the cubed thigh pieces of turkey were darkly colored enough to appear burnt, but all these meats seemed to rely upon the BBQ sauce for their flavor. I think I enjoyed the baked beans with pork a little more than my wife did, and I definitely thought my side of macaroni and cheese was better than average. Service was excellent and I'd definitely keep an eye out for that Oat-Bituary Stout again.
