Stopped in for lunch with my mom during a snowy day while we were out shopping. We parked for free on the street directly across from the restaurant. The inside has a cute vibe. I visit this restaurant every so often, and recently I saw that the prices went up a little, which I get based on food costs and inflation. However, the portions are tiny for the prices that you pay. I ordered off the dinner menu because there are much more options to choose from (kra pow chicken, duck dishes and noodle dishes etc) and the portion size was a little underwhelming. Like almost every "sushi restaurant" in the local region, there is a limited bar, no tablecloths, weak watered down drinks, and a 15 page menu- all this tells me is that they do everything OK and nothing really good.. This place has great Thai food and some of the best sushi north of Albany! Fresh veggies and Thai style sushi which is a little saucier than traditional Japanese. Alright drink list and a full bar. Kinda let down by their lack of tap beer but lots of bottles and cans to chose from. The great service is the best part. You can tell it's a local favorite because they've been in business since 2004 which says a lot in this area. This spot never disappoints. Three years ago I walked in to get to-go and was surprised by the high ceilings. I sat at the bar, had a drink and perused the menu despite already having looked it over online. I try to eat here every other month or so, usually getting a sushi roll or fried appetizer then something to go. I'm partial to the chicken Panang curry, the house fried rice and Crunchy-Spicy rolls. When hosting out of town guests they've also enjoyed this gem in Glens Falls off the main drag. Chill vibe, tasteful background music and the fact they have the Food Channel on one of the TVs puts me at ease. Just wanted to update my review and say this place is still really great! We went in as a group of 6 and had Kim as our waitress. We could tell the place was busy, so I'm glad we made reservations. It took a minute to get some water but it gave us plenty of time to think about what we wanted to drink and eat. We were able to put in our order in all at once, which was great because we imagined the kitchen was getting backed up. I had some edamame, a seaweed salad, chicken satay with the table then split the shrimp Pad Thai, spicy tuna roll and the Mexican roll with my boyfriend. The food was overall very good, everything came out nice and hot, and full of flavor. The spicy tuna is one of the best spicy tunas we have had! Definitely something we would order two of if we were only eating sushi. My pad Thai was a LITTLE too sweet for me, not something we had a problem with before. But the real star of this restaurant was our waitress Kim. She was on the ball, answering any questions we had, checking with us to see if we wanted to have items come out with all the food or just the beginning, also seeing if we were enjoying our meal. I'm skeptical of Asian restaurants that do Thai, Japanese, Korean, etc in one place. But Siam Thai Sushi delivered a nice corner experience near our hotel (Queensbury). Atmosphere was clean and modern, service strong. My drunken noodles were good, my son's bento box was good, and my wife's sushi platter was good. Prices fair. I've been here once or twice over the years for take out and this was my first experience dining in. My normal "go-to" Thai restaurant in the neighborhood was unexpectedly closed for the night...so we decided to venture to Siam Thai. The decor and overall layout is very nice and the staff was friendly - albeit a little awkward. Think we had a new guy...he did try very hard but was rather green. The main issue is that we ordered appetizers and barely had time to finish them when the main courses arrived. Timing could have been better. What appetizers you ask? Crab Rangoon, Salmon Avocado Roll and Chicken Satay. My personal favorite was the sushi roll - the fish and avocado were good; the rice was super sweet; definitely geared towards "americanized palatability". Chicken satay skewers were gigantic and a tad dry (but not terrible); crab rangoon was fine. Main dishes: Drunken Noodles (with shrimp): had a good kick to it but the overall flavor was not the best I've had. Rice noodles were not the broad, sticky ones that I'm used to (and prefer). Duck: was reported to be delicious; side of rice was good Beef Pho: reported to be just "meh" - rather bland and needed lots of extra spices/sauce Overall, the food is OK; portions are on the large side but the quality is nothing extraordinary. read more

Stopped here on vacation. I was pleasantly surprised... I'm from the big city and Thai is my favorite food. The 3 of us ordered and we got some excellent food. I would say it is not authentic food, it is Tampered and tuned down a lot. Overall still tasty. The beef num tok was sour and just a little spicy. Taste very refreshing. The lad Thai was sweet and tasty. I also ordered Thai tea that was okay, tasted like any other tea nothing special. Good place to grab some food. I simply tried to order of the menu. The server let me know that they no longer go by the price on the menu. I accepted the extra change. When the entrée came out, I took one bite and the scallops were the consistency of beef jerky. I let the server know and he said that he was unable to take them off the bill, and that this is what he was trying to explain to me when he was trying to talk me out of the scallop dinner. He went and talked to the manager, and they said that they would not remove it from the bill. The server, then came back to the table and said he will pay for the scallop dinner. We had a reservation and were seated promptly. We were a party of six and the waiter was great. Our drinks were good (although the raspberry martini was reportedly a little too citrus tasting) the wine was as expected and beer was bottled, so no surprises there. The food at Siam Thai seemed quite good from what I could tell. I only ordered a few specialty rolls, so I can't speak for their entrees. The beer that I order (saporro) was extremely skunky. The decor leaves a little but to be desired. There's these blue lights under each table that come off as really frivolous and distracting. Food and service is always amazing just wish the place felt a bit cleaner. I sat near a wall and noticed scuffs and sticky stains along with the tables and chairs being dinged up and missing small pieces. Top suggestions for food would be the crispy duck that comes with homemade duck sauce. You get a lot of duck for the pricing! The chicken pad Thai has never disappointed and the crab rangoons are the best in the area hands down however sometimes they are served perfect while other times they are overdone and too crispy for my liking. Went there for our first wedding anniversary and was extremely disappointed. On top of celebrating our anniversary I gave birth five days before and was so excited to finally eat Sushi again. The host was very friendly when we arrived. Once we sat down they took our glasses away to fill with water. Why not bring the pitcher to fill it like you do with refills? The server came to the table friendly but never asked if we wanted something to drink besides water. First that a lost of upwelling opportunity for the business but second the guest shouldn't have to ask for a drink. So we stuck with the water that seem to have a lack of refill due to our server not being on the floor as much. Our sushi came out but was just set on the table and he walked away. Would of been nice to tell us what each one was. Sushi was good nothing spectacular for the price. Lack luster food on top of service that needs room we don't see ourselves going back. read more

The Teriyaki chicken breast had no marinated flavor and the steamed vegetables were, as advertised, simply steamed with nothing exciting to savor. The green curry was overwhelmed by the green beans that felt disconnected from the intent of the dish. Our sushi was another attempt at presentation but I've never had tuna in sushi that was seemingly ground up instead of being in traditional chunks. We picked up our order rather than eat in during this pandemic. Most staff were wearing masks. 2 stars because one of the cooks in the kitchen was maskless. Also, 2 drunk guys at the bar were walking in and out of the restaurant without masks when they went out to smoke cigarettes curbside. Either way, I highly recommend exploring their specialty rolls - they are delicious. The service is good and I like the location. They do a great job with the dining room and decor is interesting. We enjoy an occasional visit to Siam Thai. It's a bit pricey for a regular visit, and my wife and I typically get the same thing each time. So it hasn't hit the regular rotation. We tried the take out once, but then it was just an expensive meal. It's better to go there and enjoy the nice location and well kept dining room. Service was fine, I've had better, I've had worse. I enjoy their pineapple fried rice. It's unique and a nice mix of flavors. Worth a few visits a year. read more
