    Salmon avocado roll
    Jody W.

I've been here once or twice over the years for take out and this was my first experience dining in. My normal "go-to" Thai restaurant in the neighborhood was unexpectedly closed for the night...so we decided to venture to Siam Thai. The decor and overall layout is very nice and the staff was friendly - albeit a little awkward. Think we had a new guy...he did try very hard but was rather green. The main issue is that we ordered appetizers and barely had time to finish them when the main courses arrived. Timing could have been better. What appetizers you ask? Crab Rangoon, Salmon Avocado Roll and Chicken Satay. My personal favorite was the sushi roll - the fish and avocado were good; the rice was super sweet; definitely geared towards "americanized palatability". Chicken satay skewers were gigantic and a tad dry (but not terrible); crab rangoon was fine. Main dishes: Drunken Noodles (with shrimp): had a good kick to it but the overall flavor was not the best I've had. Rice noodles were not the broad, sticky ones that I'm used to (and prefer). Duck: was reported to be delicious; side of rice was good Beef Pho: reported to be just "meh" - rather bland and needed lots of extra spices/sauce Overall, the food is OK; portions are on the large side but the quality is nothing extraordinary.

Stop here for lunch during a business trip. Order pad Thai and beef num tok. The food is cook towards the general population. I would say it is not authentic food, it is Tampered and tuned down a lot. Overall still tasty. The beef num tok was sour and just a little spicy. Taste very refreshing. The lad Thai was sweet and tasty. I also ordered Thai tea that was okay, tasted like any other tea nothing special. Good place to grab some food. Service: 4/5 Food: 4/5 Give this a place a try if you are in the mood for some Thai food!

This was my second visit and the service was excellent once again. I had Pad Thai with shrimp. The meal was good but a little too sweet. It was tasty well seasoned. It was real good comfort food for a rainy overcast day. The shrimp was a little done but still palatable. The seasoning of the noodles was excellent the fresh scallion was delightful and just right.

Sushi was excellent. Large pieces of salmon in their spicy salmon roll. Calamari was light and cooked well. Great service!

You'll definitely see and hear everyone. It's all open and pretty squeezed together. It's not bad, you just need to be prepared. This isn't a fine dining restaurant. It's a really nice to go place that will also put the food on plates so you can stay and eat it inside. The sushi is generous and delicious. We like to sit at the bar and watch the guy make it right there. The drunken noodles and Spicy chicken pad Thai are good. I feel that the Rama garden is underwhelming. The chicken seems precooked and blah with a peanut sauce poured over it. Watch out if you order any dish as "spicy" they'll just dump crushed red pepper on your order after it's cooked. The staff are amazing. They're always happy, accommodating, and very attentive. It's really clear that they care. We go here a couple times per month. I've never been disappointed. You should go here too.

We started with a delightful 'avacado bomb', which was delicious, and the highlight of the meal, but everything else came out in reverse order- I received in order, my secondary sushi order (an extra roll) then my main dinner (sushi regular). I asked if the soup and salad that was supposed to come with my dinner would be coming, and was assured they would be. On the next trip to my table, the salad came, followed a minute later by my appetizer, the bao buns (mediocre at best). I asked again and finally got the overly salty miso soup. My wife ordered bulgolgi bibimbap dolsot- it did not come out in a stone bowl- instead she had a pile of very wet beef, onion, pepper stir fry, with a side of white rice. Not bibimbap. The flavors were ok, but what I'd expect from a takeout Chinese place. Overall, fairly disappointing for the price point.

This review is written as a WARNING. I strongly urge everyone to read this before stepping foot…read moreinto--or ordering takeout from--this Thai restaurant. If you don't want to read the full story, here is the bottom line: DO NOT EAT HERE. DO NOT ORDER TO GO. A few of our friends had dined here years ago and suggested it as the place to celebrate a friend's birthday. I called to make a reservation, and the person who answered simply said "yes" without asking for my name, phone number, or any details--already a red flag, though I didn't realize it at the time. Once we arrived, another major red flag became obvious: there was not a single Thai staff member to be seen. For a restaurant advertising itself as Thai cuisine, this immediately raised concerns about authenticity and quality. The interior is nicely decorated and clearly aiming for a "luxury" dining vibe. However, the shock came when we opened the menu. Chef's entrées were priced as high as $60 per dish, regular entrées ranged from $25-$34, and appetizers averaged around $19. Several of us--including myself--wanted to walk out immediately, but we stayed only out of respect for our friend's birthday. The food was nowhere near worth the price. I ordered a tuna tataki for $16.95, which consisted of just six thin slices of tuna on a tiny bed of vegetables. I also ordered a stir-fried vermicelli noodle dish with shrimp for $34--a small portion of noodles topped with four bland, unseasoned, un-marinated shrimp. My child ordered the "beef tiger cry" for $40, which came with extremely fatty, chewy beef that tasted like the cheapest cut imaginable, despite the menu claiming it was Angus beef (highly doubtful). Then came the final insult: the bill. The subtotal for 11 adults and 2 toddlers was over $600, before tax. On top of that, they added 10% tax and an automatic 22% gratuity, bringing the total to over $800. Every single person at the table was stunned. We felt completely taken advantage of. I have never--in my entire life--seen Thai food priced this outrageously, especially when the quality and flavor were so mediocre. Afterward, we looked at Yelp and Google reviews and discovered that they even charge a 10% gratuity on pickup orders. This place is not upscale. The food is not special. The pricing feels predatory. Please save yourself from being ripped off and go somewhere else. You will thank me later. I would have give 0 star if I could.
