I love this restaurant!!! It is extremely underrated. It's my family's favorite restaurant. We drive from 2 hours aways and any time we're in the Queensbury area we make sure we stop by. Great quality food including sashimi, sushi, hibachi and other Japanese cuisine. Prices are amazing especially the all you can eat for $29.99 and cocktails for $8.95. Wonderful, friendly staff and charming understated vibe. Always less crowded than, by any rights, it should be. read more

First off I wanna say the cleanliness of the establishment was very questionable especially the bathroom second five of us were in attendance and we ordered the all you could eat and every 25 minutes they brought out a couple of dishes we were there for over two hours. People that had come in after us were being served before us. They apologized for the delay, but they were very busy. And that was a lie because there was only three other couples there We did not get everything we had ordered. They would not take money off the bill instead they added an 18% tip. Which was also ridiculous because the waitress never came over to fill our drinks, very unhappy, and I wouldn't recommend this place to anybody. read more

Ordered through Ubereats. Had hibachi combos, steak and shrimp, salmon and chicken, with lo mein noodles, fried rice, miso soup and salad. Typical hibachi entrees, cooked well except the chicken was a little overdone. Nice yum yum and ginger sauces. They included a free appetizer of California roll and crab Rangoon. Best experience we have ever had at a hibachi restaurant. What can I say, everything was absolutely perfect. We stumbled upon this unassuming establishment thanks strictly to yelp. We would have passed it up had we not looked into its' reviews. Once we saw the reviews I promptly called and inquired about a reservation for 6. They had openings right away!!!!! Made a reservation for a birthday party of 14 guests, and they were happy to accommodate and allowed us to bring a birthday cake. The interior is nicely decorated and has a couple of different dining rooms. I saw 2 sushi chefs behind the counter. We opted a for the hibatchi combination entrees and some bento box options that were tasty and satisfying. Our server was friendly, and I know it is not easy to 'wait' on a group. I found the service a little slow, there was no management around, and they seemed a little short staffed. Despite this we enjoyed our experience and would recommend this restaurant for those seeking good food in a pleasant atmosphere. read more

Never before have I gone to an establishment and felt like as part of my civic duty I must inform the health department. Below, I have included the email to the Health department. Hello,  We went to Tokyo Steakhouse on Rt 9 Queensbury on Friday evening. My family and the couple we were meeting had never been there but we wanted to try it. We arrived first and I forewarned the other couple that did not look too clean inside or out, but we decided to give it a go. We ordered our food, and then I went to the obscenely disgusting restroom! There was no soap in the restroom, and the dispenser was actually broken. They had an open and empty bottle of over-the-counter antibacterial hand soap sitting on the counter. That picture is included. I proceeded to tell a worker that there was no soap in the bathroom. I sat back down, and our food was served. There was hairs in the soup, which we just didn't eat. Still giving the benefit of the doubt, we just said it must be a-fluke thing.  Next our meals were served. I got a chicken and scallop hibachi meal. The first item I took a bite of was a scallop in which I was instantly hit with a strong ammonia taste in my mouth. I could do nothing but spit it out. We told the server that we believe the scallops are spoiled. She replied that's a possibility that's all we have. We decided to leave the restaurant but pay for everything we ordered. They gave a 15% discount. When we were on our way out I went back into the men's restroom to see if the soap had been filled. Forty minutes after my first trip to the restroom, still no soap.  In closing, I would like to share the fact that yes I use yelp. I leave good and bad reviews on a regular basis. This is the first time in my life I felt the need to contact the health department. They make the best sushi around! Family owned and they are always welcoming! I am addicted to their sushi!

I'll start with the positive- the sexy jalapeño for an appetizer was delicious. It was stuffed with cream cheese and layered with crab meat, spicy tuna, caviar and yum yum sauce. It was tasty. Everything went downhill from there. We had a person with an allergy to shellfish which they said would not be an issue. We have been to many hibachi spots in our time and it also never has been an issue. The woman cooking just could not understand that the shrimp could not be on the same tray as the steak. Usually the person with an allergy's food is cooked first but she did not do that. Eventually they just made the meal in the back for that person. The "show" was boring. The food was incredibly salty where I couldn't even finish. Not because I wasn't hungry (the portions are average to small) but because of the saltiness of the food. We were visiting the area and hoping for something different after a day of skiing but it was a disappointment. Honesty, the place isn't clean either. So very pleasantly surprised by the excellent dinner at Tokyo Steakhouse earlier this week. I was a little concerned initially as it was completely empty and it wasn't crazy early. I was stupid hangry and ordered some sushi as an appetizer to share: salmon avocado roll, salmon mango roll, an order of salmon sushi and 2 pieces of ikura. It arrived shortly after our soup and salad-fresh and delicious. The ikura was the only thing that didn't quite hold up very well...'twas was a bit gummy and just meh. The dinner bento box portions at absolutely worth the $16.99. A generous sized California roll, helping of rice, gyoza and spring rolls accompany your entree. I chose the sushi and the pieces were surprisingly big and fresh: tuna, salmon, mackerel, yellowtail, shrimp (cooked) and a piece of white fish (call it white tuna, I guess). My dining companion had the Thai basil chicken and said it was great. After some time passed, more people came in to sit in the hibachi area and regular tables. I hope they do well enough to stay in business and thatbthe quality stays as good. read more

Let's start with the good--it is commendable to run a Japanese restaurant in this area. Their AYCE menu is not fantastic but not bad either, with some good original rolls like the Angel and Texas. However, the service was very slow despite almost no one else in the restaurant. We waited about ten minutes for our first round of food and they limit sashimi to one piece per type per round. Then I actually had to get up and request another AYCE menu because they did not offer it to us again. Plus, when I entered the restaurant and inquired about the price I heard one of the employees mumble about how the cheapskate (me) thought this place was a good deal. For that, I could give one star. Overall, the food was not bad given the area but I don't appreciate the implicit attitude regarding AYCE. When you set an AYCE price, that is a contract. If you don't like the contract, don't offer one. read more

It's been a long time since coming back to Tokyo steakhouse due to the pandemic and a lack of going out to restaurants. Pulling into the place I felt a little nostalgia knowing I was about to eat some delicious food, and hang out with wonderful friends. We came in and they immediately recognized us and welcomed us back, we got the ramen and some appetizers and some Sapporo's and asahi's and enjoyed ourselves tremendously! Just popped in for dinner while visiting the area. Absolutely fantastic ramen and gyozu dumpling. But the best of all for me was the crab Rangoon. They were probably the best I've ever had. This place will be a must stop next time we visit! read more

There is not much good that I can say about Tokyo Steakhouse. First of all the restaurants cleanliness is questionable. I ordered off the regular menu and my friend ordered AYCE. The AYCE menu is not great. I ordered the Maki dinner (California roll, Salmon roll and a Tuna roll). The tuna roll was extremely fishy. I did not eat it. My food came first even though we ordered at the same time. By the time my friends food came I was done with mine. The service is very slow. The second order for the AYCE it took another 30 minutes to arrive. We left after 2 hours and still waiting on food. Never once were we asked if we needed anything or a refill on our drinks. After the check arrived I realized why they didn't care about providing good service or food....they automatically add a 18% tip onto the bill no matter the size of the party. read more

This was my first time attending an Asian restaurant. I was amazed by the Hibachi show that they put on. We went as a party of 7 and there were two spots open at the end of the table. After ordering appetizers, a couple was seated at the end of the table where there was the two spots open. The couple seemed very unaware they were going to be placed at our table. Drinks and appetizers were great! Since, the party of two was seated late, the chef wasn't prepared with enough food for now 9 of us, instead of the original 7. Therefore, parts of our party didn't get any of the food or got very small portion sizes. You would think with the expensive price tag, you would get a normal sized portion. It appears these extra 2 people threw off everything and messed up our dinner reservations. read more

I was impressed with the high end decor and their customer service. On the menu side, I really like their appetizer and sushi combos. Especially the AAC combos. It comes with my favorite fruit, avocado and it has 15 pieces. I also tried sushi delux as my hubby loves sashimi. I am surprised as it comes in a good size and nice presentation. First off. I really hate to complain about any restaurant especially during Covid. However, when I am paying top dollar for a shitty meal and still have to pay for it, I'm going to say something. This was supposed to be Thai crispy mango chicken. According to the menu description, it says "wok sautéed w fresh mango sauce slices in house made mildly spicy and sweet sauce". Okay, now look at the pictures. Does this looks like chicken sautéed in a wok? It literally is breaded chicken tenders with a sauce on the side . I ordered this through Door dash. When I called the restaurant to complain, I was told repeatedly by the manager that they put the sauce on the side because customers were complaining about the chicken being soggy when they order it for takeout. My argument is not about the sauce at all, but that this particular dish (which I've had in other legit restaurants without issue) is supposed to be somewhat similar to an Orange Chicken or even General Tso, in that the sauce is cooked with the chicken breast in a wok and is a sticky sauce that makes the chicken crispy . This breaded chicken cut up into slices that I received is no where near appropriate. Tokyo Steakhouse wouldn't offer any resolution. Door dash only offered me a $4.57 refund of the $14.99 I was robbed for this item. read more

We went as a family of five and greeted the minute we walked in as if we are regulars. Came and stayed down the block at the great escape and wanted to take the kids 6,4,17months for a hibachi show. The portions were huge and the chef was kid friendly as they enjoyed the tricks performed. We really enjoyed all the food as it tasted great and the staff was super friendly.
