Food was great!! Service was okay, we were a bit rushed. It was amazing the amount of food we could get for how much we paid.

Come hungry. Very good food and attentive staff. Well worth the money. We went for dinner but I'm sure lunch would be the same.

In a culture that's increasingly going in the way of delivering food, we had an extraordinary…read moredining experience. The restaurant sits in a cozy style house in historic Glens Falls. From the moment our party of five came in (we walked in at four 'o clock as soon as the doors opened), we were greeted warmly by staff and shown to our table immediately. We had a some of their happy hour starters, called dynamite bombs, crab rangoon and miso soup to begin with. It was all delicious, and came quickly. Our main dishes ,which were mostly sushi rolls, came beautifully displayed on a sushi boat. We also ordered some Pad Thai and Tom Yum soup, again all of it was delicious and prepared perfectly. The best part of the evening was when our waitress overheard us talking about our daughter's birthday, and surprised us at the end of the meal with a platter of small desserts and then sang Happy Birthday to us! The cost of the meal was very reasonable, the service so friendly and enthusiastic, I would recommend this place to anyone.

But that was 10 years ago and a lot of things change (and costs are cut) in that time. Everything tasted funny, quality was not there, shrimp and chicken tasted bland and was rubbery, not fresh. It's disappointing.

Awful, awful, awful. Avoid this place at all costs. The food took ages to come out. Our appetizer,…read morethe pan-fried gyoza was painfully undercooked. Spicy house special lo mein was OK. Not spicy, but OK. Spicy salmon roll was severely lacking in flavor. It tasted like one of the frozen rolls you'd get at the supermarket. The second roll I ordered took an extra 10-15 minutes to come our and the fish was BAD. As in, "This fish was caught a week or two ago" bad. To top it all off, the service was horrendous. We sat outside and it got rather chilly as the sun set, so we asked if they could put on the two large heaters seeing as we were the only patrons on the deck. The server rudely refused and told us to move inside or deal with it. Unbelievable.

So I am stuck right in the middle with this restaurant. There isn't many Chinese locations here in…read moreLake George but we decided to try this location. As we walked in we was greeted and was quickly directed to a table to sit and handed the menu. 60 seconds in I notice 2 things, 1. They don't have a drink menu, it's as if how do you not have a drink menu and your located at the Lake George village. 2. The menu is way to large, so many things to order and when we asked what they recommend to eat they picked so many things off the menu. We ordered a sprite, and the lady gave us a few mins to order. In about 5 mins we knew what we wanted to order but it took them about 15 mins to come back and take out order. (2 kani salad, a Pink Lady Roll, a Spicy Lobster Roll, and a Superman roll. Now the decor of the location makes you seem as if your in a lunch room cafeteria, it's so bland, with low ceilings. It's also very bright and it would seem to be more as a NYC take out location then to sit and eat there. From where we was sitting we can see the chief preparing our food. I see that our Kani salads are done but no one is brining them over. This upsets me because if you had have kani salad before you know thr mayo that they put into the salad starts to warm up. About 10 mins later they figure out who it is and bring it over. So now the food...I can't complain about the food, it was good. The kani salad could have used just a little bit more Mayo but it was fine the way it was. They used crunchy on it as well which gave it a nice texture. The superman roll was great. It was a perfect roll for me. Full of flavor for a hot roll, the cream cheese in it was great, and the eel sause was so delicious. The pink lady roll was the same reaction, I could not complain about it. Perfect Eel drizzle with nice fresh avocados. Now the one down fall, My spicy lobster roll....IT WASNT SPICY . The texture I'm the roll waa so soggy as well, and it didnt have much flavor. But it was still bearable with soy sause. In all the food was 4 out of 5 stars but the location decore was a 2 out of 5. I say its a great place to get food and take it to go.

This is by far one of my favorite restaurants in Saratoga. The atmosphere between the service and…read moreambiance is unmatched. The food has never been a disappointment after plenty of visits. It also has the best cocktails to get before heading out on Caroline St! I look forward to plenty more visits.

In a town chock full of Japanese sushi restaurants, this new entry - located in the former (and…read moremuch missed) seafood dining favorite, 30 Lake, two streets off the main shopping area downtown - Omakase is a stand out. Which is notable since it's costly. How costly you say? Well, my lunch set me back $70 which - for a cocktail, appetizer and one sushi roll - is high. Very high. The pricing cost them 1/2 a point in my review. The ambiance is more nightclub than Asian restaurant. Rather dark but not in a bad way. Modern Japanese? Maybe. Just not the 'feel' I expected on a Friday afternoon. I was warmly welcomed. I think the staff might upgrade their attire to complement their fine dining prices. Just sayin'. As previously mentioned, Omakase's prices are high. Think Upscale NYC which - as my hubs pointed out when I shared my luncheon experience with him - seems to be the direction that much of Saratoga Springs's downtown is going. For example, their Tom Yum Soup, which is offered in most Japanese restaurants, at $15.60 is twice what you would pay elsewhere locally. My Tuna Tartare was elegantly presented. It was similar to other sushi places I've been to except that the tuna was mushy instead of small pieces stop the mashed avocado. I did not find this especially appealing. What really set this dish apart from other Japanese places where I have eaten it was the crunch bits on top, the accompanying wasabi chips and sprinkling of micro greens. Nice touch but not worth $24 which is about double what I have paid at other dining establishments. A review of the menu shows that sushi prices are twice the cost of other Japanese places in town. I ordered what I will call their Signature Roll (not its real name) at $24. I tried to tie my leftovers to their menu without success. Was it good? Yes. The crunch bit on top were different. Was it worth the hefty roll price tag? Hmmm ... not sure. Service was attentive, 5 stars. If you are looking for a new take on sushi and have deep pockets, then definitely give Omakase a try. The menu has many chef reactions that you will not find elsewhere. And because I am a sushi aficionado and love creativity in dining, I will return to experience other interesting items on the menu. The chef's creative approach to sushi gets 5 stars. Keep in mind that street parking can be a challenge (as it was for the former 30 Lake). I give Omakase 4-1/2 stars.

Based on the yelp reviews, I'd say quality of food and service is spotty here. I don't want to…read morerecommend this place and have someone following my recommendation have a bad experience, as it seems a lot of people do. Heh...and it seems I finished my meal and got up and left before I finished my review. I had vegetable yaki udon (which my phone heard as "vegetable yucky udon" ) and edamame. I enjoyed both. It was not an "Oh my dog!" swooning experience, but it was good. The woman who seated and served me initially did indeed disappear entirely about halfway through my meal; happily, a gentleman in a flannel shirt and down vest took over for her, coming over to ask if everything was alright and, upon my request, to refill my drink. The woman, I believe, has a reputation for not doing those things, but I was taken care of despite her negligence. (This is also the woman who insists that the customer sign the credit card receipt produced after they use tap-to-pay with their phone...one of the whole reasons for the existence of which mechanism is that it's touchless...meaning that you don't have to touch your credit card, you don't have to touch the credit card reader, and you don't have to touch a pen, because, as it says right at the bottom of the receipt in bold capital letters, "NO SIGNATURE REQUIRED". But this woman will not allow the customer to attempt to cloud the issue with facts, insisting instead that the very reason you must sign the receipt is that you used tap-to-pay with your phone. Okay. Whatever.) Anywho...I had a nice meal. And I was surprised to hear what sounded, to my distorted hearing, like 90's shoegaze playing over the sound system. (I think I have the genre right there - it was reminiscent of Cocteau Twins and that sort of thing. And I'm sure I heard Morrissey in there too. Unexpected almost anywhere these days, and definitely so, and kind fun, in an Asian restaurant.)
