We completely understood, and my entire table works in the restaurant industry. We know that mistakes happen and that situations come up unexpectedly. We had absolutely no problem with not being served those drinks. What we did have a problem with was the way this young girl was treated. Seeing her come back in tears, feeling the need to apologize to us for something that was not a big deal, was heartbreaking. No employee, especially someone so young, should be made to feel that way at work. We ultimately decided that we could not justify giving this establishment our money, so we left and decided to get food elsewhere. We made sure to leave a tip for our waitress because she was nothing but kind, professional, and apologetic throughout the entire interaction. Shame on the manager for handling the situation this way. There is a way to correct a mistake or explain a policy without humiliating an employee.
