The food was mostly inedible. First time trying Miguel Jrs. Online looked good and loved the concept, but the food was disgusting. The taquitos and Asada were the only edible things. The cheese tasted like plastic, the creamy guacamole tasted spoiled, the beans take like they came from a can and was blended with water. Took a bite of the shredded chicken taco and gagged... just threw the rest away after that. Del Taco and Cafe Rio would have been a better option. read more

First time visiting, I ordered the Brisket Sandwich and the chicken Caesar salad for my wife. It was a To-Go order. I ordered on the kiosk, while ordering the sandwich when I got to the sides option I selected a pickle for .25c extra only to see under that section a Pickle options section, pickle, extra pickle $.25, double pickle $.50. So it comes with a side pickle don't pay extra BUT make sure you select it otherwise you won't get it. I ordered the salad for my wife, the chicken portion does not match the large portion of the lettuce that I paid for. You have to look into that, ppl pay your prices make sure the portions are equivalent proportioned to the pricing. Flavor: Sandwich is good, tasty, portions are average, not small but not generous either. Chicken Caesar Salad, not getting it again. My order was ready in 15 minutes however they didn't include napkins, who eats without napkins? What do restaurants do that, they don't give you napkins or give you 1 or 2 and that's all. It takes a restaurant 3 customer visits to gain their customers' business I will give this place 3 visits hopefully they can change my mind about my 1st impression. Ugh this place was the best of Miguel's Jr with big chunks of steak on their nachos and burritos. Decent salsa. Drive thru. Well now they suck. Small cheesy pieces of burnt steak. Cheese and green Chile tamales all dayyyyyy! I am obsessed with the cheese tamales! They are so good. I've had them at other locations- very good. They were just as good at this location! I think this is my favorite location for cheese tamales. They steam the masa perfectly! I gobbled those tamales down so fast! Delicious! I hit the drive-thru. Service was good. They were quick with it! I was in and out fast, and on my way. I had an appointment to get to, so the drive-thru was perfect. The food was hot and fresh. 3/29/26 Miguel's Jr Orange, CA...Came here with a family member today. I got my Carnitas Crave On once again, I just can't get enough of it! I had a Carnitas Quesadilla with the Serrano Salsa and a Carnitas Taco with green salsa. I definitely recommend you try the Carnitas because it is so mouth-watering good and you can put it in or on top of any other item! I had the refreshing iced horchata to drink to wash all the Carnitas yumminess down! Come give it a try, it's only for a limited time! My son in law had the pork salsa Verde bowl. I am obsessed with the bean and cheese burritos from here. I judge every Mexican spot on their beans alone and the beans from here are legit. I make a trip here monthly from AZ to visit family and take home 4 burritos on my drive back. I'm sure I will get to trying other items on their menu at some point, but for now I am sticking to my bean and cheese burritos. read more

This is for today in the drive thru I don't know what was happening. The girl that took my order was great but once I got to the window and paid I was told to go park out front and they'd bring my food out. Shortly after I noticed everyone pulling up next to me (also waiting) had their drink orders I had ordered two sodas and didn't get mine. I had to wait a good amount of time before someone came out he only brought one drink. When I was told my order, my chicken quesadilla wasn't mentioned I had to ask and he said it was in the bag. I had to wait while for them to go to other cars. My drink finally came out without a straw. I had to ask for that. When I got home I realized my quesadilla was just a cheese, not sure what I was charged for because I was never given a receipt either. I'm hoping this was just a one off because I love Miguel's I'm a Corona kid and since moving to OC/Long Beach area I had missed it. I usually come for lunch since it's close to my job. They now installed door charms on both doors for some reason and it's annoying. Can't enjoy your meal with the music on and the charm ringing every 5 minutes. Trying to have a conversation person to person or on the phone with the charm going off. The only thing wrong with Miguel's Jr is that it's too far away from me. This store - a 20-mile drive - is the one I picked as it's the closest, and I wanted to finally check them out. And, I'm glad I did! Good food, friendly service and a welcoming environment. I tried their original burrito. It was great; so much fresher-tasting than the major chains. They offer red and green sauces, and they were both the perfect accompaniment. Also ordered a spicy chicken tamale to go. That was also good. This place is pathetic now. I used to give it a 5 star and come often but the portions keep getting smaller and smaller. Got 2 burritos and 2 small drinks for almost $30 bucks and they couldn't even give me more then 2 green salsas I asked for.. The burrito was barely twice the size of my ATM card and it was super thin with hardly any potatoes. Opened it up, the bacon was quite sad looking. It was MAYBE the amount of 1 slice, barely any marinated potatoes that were pretty dry and couldn't taste the verde sauce they are supposed to be marinated in. The Miguel's Trio which is a taco, burrito and lemonade for only 8 dollars is a very good deal especially with the quality. You get a choice between hard and soft shell and chicken and beef. I ended up getting the beef hard shell with the beans, rice and chicken burrito and chips and guac on the side. I personally enjoyed it. However I wasn't the biggest fan of the guacamole. Everything else was pretty good. It wasn't as busy in the dinner hours and service overall is good. I would definitely come back for the $8 deal again. read more

Super Slow & Expensive. I missed the turn in for my Moore authentic restaurant down the street I was extremely unimpressed with this place. It took 20 minutes to stand in line for four expensive tacos. I haven't even tasted them yet but it just already I know I will never be back here. read more

My husband & I went to the Miguels Jr on Tustin in Orange today. We placed our order at 4:37, and didn't receive our order until 5:10. My husband was seated right in front waiting patiently while other customer's that placed orders after us received their orders. They kept telling my husband it's coming. Finally my husband saw a order sitting and they wanted him to take it, he told them it was cold. They replaced the beans, rice, enchiladas. They didn't replace the tacos, and they were cold, the enchiladas were also cold the cheese was not melted at all. We actually go to this location a lot and have never had horrible service. When we arrive the restaurant was not busy at all. They only had 3 customers in side and a few cars in the drive-through. Not sure if this is due to lack of management skills, training issues. Hopefully they can figure out and can resolve the issues. read more

Have you ever been to Miguel's Jr.? I know a lot of my Yelp friends have. Been coming here for many years the first location was the Corona. Far drive but worth it, then boom boom boom they started expanding and opened them up all over Orange County. The excitement when that happened was real lol. Always get the El potato it comes with cheese and shredded beef which is amazing. The guac and chip's delicious, love how the chips are fresh. Ordered chicken tamales and a bean rice and cheese burrito. Loved it all, it was busy that day and lots of people in the drive through. I recommend this location it is clean, and the workers were really friendly and nice, the tables were not clean but it's ok. The food and service more than make up for it. I was really looking forward to this (for months!) . I gave them a week or more to get their act together and they still need a lot of help. I had the original Chicago dog and fries. The fries had been pre-cooked and sitting in the rack for a while. So the first problem was I got fries that were only lukewarm. When I asked for a new batch, they gave me one fresh from the fryer however, the temperature of them wasn't hot either. I have a feeling the temp on the fryer was too low. The fries do have a good coating. and I hope someday that they're hot to match. The Chicago dog left a lot to be desired as well again, the hotdog was just lukewarm, and the bun seemed to be stale on the bottom.. The bun ended up breaking apart after the first bite or two, so I ended up with a mess on my hands. I tried to enjoy the combination of what they put on it, but it's nothing different than I could do at home. Their hotdog had a very strong smoky flavor to it, which I'm not a big fan of, but that's my problem.i did like the hard "snap" of the skin. Honestly, unless they get their act together, I'm heading up Chapman to the hotdog place. That's been there forever. They do a much better job and their food is hot and buns fresh (or steamed). read more

Miguel's Jr. goes way back. I think it started around 2010, maybe even earlier. Back then, if you were in Riverside, you knew that was the spot. I believe the original Miguel's Jr. was right there, and honestly, nowhere else even came close. Everyone always talked about how great it was, and for good reason. It was always a treat to go there. For me, it was all about one thing, the Garbage Burrito. That was always my go-to, and I'm happy to say it still is. Nowadays, you can find Miguel's Jr. in more locations, and I have to say the quality, the flavor, the freshness, it's all still there. The Garbage Burrito is loaded with slow-cooked refried beans, Spanish rice, cheddar cheese, shredded lettuce, diced tomatoes, fresh guacamole, and sour cream. I always get it with their chile verde pork, which is super tender and full of flavor. The burrito is big, packed full, and leaves me totally satisfied every time. I added their red hot sauce on top in one of the photos, and it gives it just the right amount of heat. Miguel's Jr. isn't just another fast food place. The food tastes homemade, fresh, and authentic. Whether it's your first time or you've been going for years like I have, you can tell they put care into every bite. If you've never been, I definitely recommend checking it out. They've got a full menu of homestyle Mexican food, and the Garbage Burrito with chile verde pork is still one of the best things I've ever had. read more

While vehicle shopping and working in the area I seen this place- I've often seen other locations but never stopped- today I did and let me tell you- From the courtesy order taker in drive through to the cashier- they were so polite, respectful, friendly and made me feel welcomed. The first bite of that burrito was delicious! Tortilla was soft and meat and potatoes were savory and cooked just right - guacamole had a kick but was fresh! We drive from a few cities away to come to this Miguel's and we wish they would open one in Yorba Linda! It's delicious, clean tasting Mexican food. The kiddo actually eats the kids meal and always wants a second taco because it's so good. The service is always great. Food comes out quick and the seating area is always so clean. Miguel's Jr is located on Tustin Ave near Katella. It's easy to locate and access. Parking is tricky but plentiful. For convenience, I went to the drive thru today. Two menu boards are up, place your order at the second one. Ordering was easy and the speakers were clear and at a good volume. I was intrigued by the relleno burrito, so I ordered that and a crispy beef taco. Since they were promoting their seasonal pumpkin horchata, I got one of those, too. The burrito is filled with a smallish chile relleno, beans, rice, and cheese. I had higher hopes for this. It was good, but not necessarily crave-worthy. The taco was nice and crispy and the beef was juicy and tender. My favorite of the 2. The pumpkin horchata was like drinking dessert. Very tasty! Not much to say about the ambiance since it WAS drive thru, but I will mention that it was clean and well maintained. The menu boards are modern and easy to figure out and the drive up counter was also modern and clean. The employees I interacted with both at the speaker and at the window were all friendly and efficient. I will say, tho, that the wait in the drive thru was longer than most I've gone through, so keep that in mind if you're in a time crunch. I visited Miguel JR in the OC (Tustin St. location). While the place advertises itself as Mexican cuisine, I wouldn't exactly call it fully authentic. Traditional Mexican spots usually use white cotija cheese, but here it's mostly yellow cheese, beans, and not much asada in the burrito. That said, the asada was flavorful, on the salty side. The staff was friendly and pleasant, which made the experience enjoyable. Overall, it's a solid spot for a quick drive-thru meal when you're on the go. If I go back, I'd also be open to trying something else on the menu next time. read more

Work trip to Irvine brought me to the area and I wanted to try this place for their shredded beef tacos. It was delicious and I prefer that over the carne asada street taco. Definitely they give plenty of red sauce which was a great compliment to the meal. I also got the enchilada meal with a taco, a side carne asada street taco, and chips and chunky guacamole. The amount of money that is charged for a tostada with a lot of lettuce and no protein is ridiculous! My husband ordered a tostada with no beans, no shell and add rice. He didn't get any choice of protein. Miguel's has always asked what protein would you like but they didn't this time. The cost for a small spoonful of rice and lots of lettuce and sprinkle of cheese was $5.39 plus a $1.00 for rice. Miguel's lost me as a customer. Guess I'm not the only one now that I'm seeing a 3.1 rating for this restaurant. I've been coming to Miguel's Jr and regular Miguel's for over 20 years. The store just screwed up my entire order. I drive 15 minutes home. Call them about it and then have to press them for any compensation and they come up with 30% off my next order when they've completely wasted my time and ruined this order already. I'm gonna dispute discharge with my credit card company plus file a complaint with Miguel's Corporate as well, but beware the quality and attitude of service at this location which again is reflected in their yelp rating of only three stars. read more

Why do we keep trying this place. It's so hit and miss. We purchased two chicken burritos tonight and they literally disolved as the contents were soak in water from where the shredded chicken was stored in the steam table. No wonder at 7:30PM on Saturday night it's empty. Being an optimist, I really hope it will improve but so far, well, that's not happening. read more

If you're going to take over 20 minutes for the drive thru I would at least expect the girl at the window to say hi, instead she said nothing and stuck her arm out expecting my card instantly. Used to go to Miguel's in Corona back in the day so thought I'd try this one out. Forget about old school Miguel's standards, this food does not meet any standard of edible food. Ordered a quesadilla which was dripping in oil and burnt. I was starving so tried to make it work by smothering in hot sauce but it was disgusting. Gave up after a few bites because I thought I was going to be sick from the oil and burnt taste. Chips were stale and oily and my soda cup was greasy too. Messed up what should have been an easy order. Drive thru took an exceedingly long amount of time. Will not be returning. read more

We've never had a bad meal there and the customer service is always good. The restaurant is clean and their drive through process is also fast if you want to take it to go.
