Big, fluffy, fresh, still-warm Terrace bagels and cream cheese, brought over to your apartment by your parents, just as you're getting your lazy ass out of bed at noon. Makes you feel like a kid again, even though you can pull a muscle shadowboxing, you fall asleep at 1 am on New Year's Eve, and you wear your your pants up around your nipples. Terrace is also the only bagel shop I'm aware of that has the Split Decision on the menu. It's an open faced bagel with cream cheese and lox on one side, and whitefish on the other (with tomatoes, red onions, and capers on the side). As the only fish-bagel-eating person in my immediate family, it gives me the variety I need in one order. I love it. I also love the efficient staff, the large dining area with plenty of tables, and the dude wearing the biggest roller blades I've ever seen who was waiting next to me last time. My only knock on this excellent bagelry, with their stellar staff and sandwiches, is that I could use a little more of everything on the everything bagels. Otherwise, just about perfect.

The storefront has a lot of signage, so I was surprised to learn that it is full service dining in the back! On Saturday morning, it was packed, mostly with Latino families, getting breakfast. The bagels looked good in the baskets, so I got one to go. And a coffee. There was a brisk amount of counter service and it moved quickly. The bagel had a pleasant crunch from toasting, and there was plenty of cream cheese. The coffee was fine. Inexpensive and did the job. They're rather unusual -…read morethey're a little bit on the denser/drier/heartier side, unlike the very fluffy, soft, melt-in-your-mouth bagels that can be found other places. However, I personally think they're delicious and prefer them to the other style of bagel. The cream cheese is a little thicker than most places as well (in terms of viscosity rather than actual quantity) which I appreciate. Oddly despite all the positive reviews it's never swamped, which is appreciated when I'm in a hurry in the morning. The employees are especially nice as well - one woman who works the register on occasion is mention-worthily warm and kind. The iced coffee isn't the best, but it isn't the worst either. This place and Bagels by the Park are almost equidistant from my boyfriend's apartment and I've come to highly prefer this one. Not like there's much variation or that when there is, anything is prohibitive, but this place is nominally cheaper than other bagel spots as well. Definitely will come back - want to try the breakfast sandwiches and juices as well.

This review is strictly based on service, professionalism, and consistency…read more I stopped supporting Bagel World for quite some time after I witness them treat a homeless gentleman like absolute garbage due to the fact that I purchased a bagel and coffee for him. He must frequent there often, and it was obvious how displeased the staff was with me wanting to purchase breakfast for this man. Regardless of position in life, he's still a human being. Recently I began to visit again, as the establishment is conveniently on my way to work. Per usual I order one of the specials of the day, and modify the order to include a medium iced coffee instead of the size small offered with the special. The order total is always under $13 with the up charge and tip included. Today the exact same order was almost $20 before tip. I mentioned the discrepancy in price, and ask why the difference today. They kept insisting it was due to ordering a medium iced coffee, yet it's never been an issue with past orders, including yesterday morning. Expecting a proper explanation, the staff simply shrugged their shoulders without any concern. I've visited Bagel World many times, to the point where two of the gentlemen behind the counter already know my order and bagel preferences. An almost $6 increase without a proper explanation is unacceptable, and a disservice to their clients. Bagel World has lost my business for good.

Yea I understand nothing is free these days but common I saw them charge my buddy for onions on his sandwich. Small stuff like that should be built into the base price of the sandwich. I'm surprised they don't charge for salt and pepper to be added to your sandwich. Also you could barley see any turkey in the sandwich since it only came with 2 slices of it. $14 for an egg sandwich is a bit too much this isn't Manhattan.
