Just had my iphone screen replaced, as I dropped my phone in a rush on mother's day. Glass was splintering in my fingers constantly and I decided I needed to get the screen replaced quickly. I didn't have the money for Apple, nor do I think it's worth the $200, but I also didn't want to mess around with possibly screwing it up myself. I searched around a bit online, read some other reviews about places around town, but nothing really stood out. When I came across JCD repairs I noticed there were no reviews, so I checked out their website to see how, well, legit it looked, and noticed the Madison location had just opened a few days ago. Their website was very informative, and the reviews on the company's other locations were extremely helpful in making me decide to book an appointment online. I had my mother take my phone in for me as I was out of town on business, but she said the staff she met with was extremely nice and helpful. They gave her information on how I can further protect my phone in the future and fixed it in about 40 minutes. She only had good things to say about the experience when she handed me back my now crack free phone. I highly suggest reading through the reviews of the Chicago and Seattle locations if you need assurance that this company is not only solid, knowledgeable, and helpful, but also very much there for their customers. read more

Thes guys are stellar!! I have taken two Galaxy phones to them in the last few months (not sure why but my daughter can't seem to help herself when it come to breaking phone screens, three in the last year. Grrrrrr....). The workmanship is top notch as it the turnaround time. The first was done same day and the second was done the next day by 4pm. The people I have dealt with there are all extremely nice, enthusiastic, knowledgeable and above all helpful. They are not the stereotypical aloof, grumpy, techie know-it-alls like i have dealt with in other tech establishments in the past. These guys are great. Another nice thing is that the storefront is spotless. Again, not you typical tech outfit with random parts and crap piled ceiling high. It is good to go into a place like this and know you a) won't slice yourself open on random parts laying about, b) won't die under an avalanche of piled up junk, and c) won't need to run home and bathe after leaving. Hopefully I won't be needing their service again but with two teenage daughters with butterfingers it is good to know they are around. read more

Was having one of those bad days when I bent down to pick up something off the floor at work, my pocket got caught on the cabinet handle, and my GS4 in my pocket got poked on the screen by the end of handle. Heard cracking sound, so I looked at my phone and there was crack with fracture lines running across screen. Found some repair shops nearby on yelp and found Midwest. The Tech gave me the right answers on the phone to take a chance with him. Glad I did because he got the cracked glad screen fixed in less than his estimated time of one hour and charged me reasonable price including tax. My phone looked like the day I got it. I had protective cover, which saved it when i dropped it few times but did not this time. On the way out, I asked price of screen protector, it was very reasonable and he offered to put it on. I call that great customer service. He quoted me prices for ipad repair, which I liked. I wil be back to see him if the need for his services arises, but I hope not. read more

JCD Repair - Madison has excellent service! I dropped my iPhone 4 on a Wednesday rushing to a meeting and cracked the screen. I could have kicked myself for not having it protected in the proper casing. Anyway, I knew I had to get it repaired fast because it is extremely expensive to replace these handsets. I looked up cell phone repair stores in the area and after seeing the reviews of customer experiences at the Seattle and Chicago locations I decided to make an appointment and take my phone in Friday to the local Madison location....and I'm glad I did! There's plenty parking on site (free might I add) and Nate had my phone fixed in no time. It was like my phone had a complete facelift! Before I left, I was able to test the functionality of the phone and the cost of repair comes with a 90 day warranty - a little added peace of mind. I would recommend JCD Repair to others. Like the other reviewer said, the Madison location is new but they do a great job! read more

My son had dropped something on his iPod Touch screen and cracked the LCD. I had originally taken it to the Apple store in West Towne Mall -- they only tried to sell me a new iPod to the tune of $400.00 -- gulp! Then I found JCD Repair online and saw they had a store in Madison. It's really a hole-in-the-wall place (nice Dr. Who posters on the wall though) but the service was AMAZING. First, they tried to replace the screen but the display was still not working. He said, "I can try one more thing. We could let the battery power all the way down and try again. Would you be willing to leave it here a few days?" I was so skeptical but thought, "What the hey?" To my shock, I got a phone call a couple of days later -- same tech guy, saying it worked!!! And he fixed the power button that only seemed to work on one side, at no extra charge. I was, to say the least, VERY impressed with the service, persistence and service charge. read more

These guys are AWESOME!!!!! They fixed my our Ipad in one day. I was at the Apple store the day before and Apple told me it would be $299 to fix it. The only diagnostics apple did was try to restore it. (no luck). I gave it to these guys, (I'm sorry I didn't get their names) they gave me an estimate between $49 and $125. I was ok with that since it was still half what Apple was going to cost. I got a phone call saying it was ready the next day! (expecting the highest estimate) I asked what they found and how much was it..... They opened it up, juggled the screen connector cable, and it worked!!! They tightened up the cable, put it back together and there was NO CHARGE!!!!! Thank you SO MUCH!!!! So why couldn't apple do that????? they could have made $99 bucks of me right then and there. If you need a repair GO SEE THESE GUYS. Don't be fooled by their bare bones store. They do the work others won't but should. read more

This is the first time I've ever reviewed something on yelp. I actually joined yelp just to do this! My phone's screen cracked after some birthday shenanigans - bummer! After doing some research and calling around, I decided to go with JCD. I called and made an appointment right away. They had me in and out of there in, no joke, 10 minutes. Brand new screen! I was so shocked and impressed I was looking for a tip jar. I don't know if their turn-around time is always that fast (maybe I just got lucky), but I'll take it! The water, coffee, and snacks were a nice touch while you wait. In the end, I couldn't recommend JCD any higher. They advertise phone repair in 30-40 minutes and they meet or beat that time. It's the best deal in town I've found (other places wanted to keep my phone for 24 hours or make me pay to replace the whole phone). read more

My 14 year old son's iPod touch dropped out of his pocket while go carting. It was run over several times. I was sure it was done for, but it still worked. The big question was could the screen be fixed and how much would it cost. I searched iPod repair on google and JCD popped up. I drive past them everyday, and with their little sign on the store I wasn't sure if it was a legit repair shop, but the reviews on Yelp were good so I gave them a shot. Dropped the iPod off just before closing time, so they couldn't immediately do the work but they said it would be done by lunch time the next day. It was. The price was reasonable as well, much better than a new iPod. I would highly recommend them to anyone who needed their iPod screen fixed. read more

I brought in my 9 year old son's iPod and it was fixed in about a half an hour. The guy there was extremely helpful and informative. He took a phone call while I was there and helped the person on the phone. The guy thought he needed his phone repaired but the JCD repair guy talked him thru a process that might be an easy fix. He told him to try that before bringing it in. I felt good about bringing the iPod to someone who was honest. (he could have ripped the guy off and just told him to bring in the phone and then charged him) It also felt good to use someone local and know that my money will stay in my community. I was initially going to take it to Batteries Plus and I'm so glad that I didn't! I highly recommend JCD Repair. read more

My daughter dropped her Ipod gen 4 and cracked the screen. After calling some the box stores they wouldn't touch it unless you would have bought a accidental warranty from them. I found a web side where I could have bought the screen for $10.00 less and attempt replaceing it myself. After finding JCD Repair I didn't wanted the get it done right and they warranty that the Ipod would work for 6 months. When I got there the person at the desk really stresses the warranty that they gave and wanted you to call if there were any concerns or problems. They had it fixed in an half hour and did a great job. I have recomened JCD repair to friends and family that never thought Ipods or Ipads screens could be repaired. read more

We took my sixteen year old son's iPhone 4S in on 12/13/13 for a cracked screen & broken internal speaker. Within an hour they had it ready to go! (It might have been thirty minutes or less but we went to lunch) Now here it is, 3/04/14 and both the screen and speaker are still working great! Just like when the phone first came out of the box!!! VERY HAPPY MOM considering that I have four kids at home with smart phones! I have found my repair shop. I canceled our insurance with Verizon because JCD Repair is a smarter, cheaper choice for us. Now my monthly bill is way less & that's nice. The deductible was $100 anyway & I can have them fix it for less without the monthly charge. read more

Better than "Great"! It's (3+ yrs) my 'go-to' place for all things phone and computer. My history: - forever damaging phone after phone, from fancy to re-used. - felt confused and belittled by companies who want me to buy, but never service their product. TODAY: + Every phone has been repaired successfully, and they guarantee their work. + Every question gets thoughtful, often insightful, answers that teach me. + Finally! ... I use my phone naturally and, now I get what I want out of it. My SUCCESS with a masterful tool is entirely THANKS to Sam & Tom of Midwest Phone Lab. When your small child drops your iPod Touch on the sidewalk and the screen shatters the day before you are getting in the car for 4 hours to drive over the river and through the woods to Grandmother's house for Thanksgiving...and said iPod was going to entertain the small child in the car...panic can ensue. Luckily for me my google search turned up JCD repair. The online application to schedule service was slick, I got in within an hour of the break, and then was back out the door just over 30 minutes later. Great service, quick repair, reasonable price and happy mom and child on the road to Grandmother's house the next day! Highly recommend! read more

What a great experience for a first time customer using this service. After calling several other repair shops, including Batteries Plus, my decision to bring my broken iphone 6 to JCD was absolutely, the perfect choice. Service was great...and, the cost was at least $50.00 cheaper than Batteries Plus...who, by the way was disinterested in getting my business. I wholeheartedly recommend JCD Repair to anyone who is in need of a repair for their tablet or cell phone. The owner was incredibly nice and professional....and, the repair took exactly 35 minutes after I had made an appointment on Monday afternoon. read more

Had an 11:00am appointment, but had to ride the bus from campus to get there. The only bus that morning got me there roughly 30min early. However, even though they were not open, they offered to open the doors early. I was expecting about a 45min repair, and as soon as I was about to pull out my computer to start my paper, they had my phone out and repaired, not 10min after they had received it. Exceptional customer service and expertise, highly recommend. Cheaper than their competitors too! Do not be fooled by their lack of curb appeal or advertising - these guys are TOP NOTCH! read more

My iPhone 5 was having crazy battery issues - wouldn't stay on even when plugged in. Took it to the Apple store, where after waiting an hour they spent one minute looking at my phone and told me it couldn't be repaired and that I'd have to buy a new one. I told them that was not in my budget, and left disappointed. I found JCD Repair of Madison, stopped by, and they swapped out the battery for a new one and my phone was working perfectly within 5 minutes. And for a tiny fraction of what a new phone would have cost. So very pleased - thank you JCD!!! read more

I couldn't be happier with the service at JCD. It was a bit pricey but still significantly less to fix the cracked screen of my iPhone 4 than the Apple store was going to charge me. I had my unruly toddler with me and we were in and out within 25 minutes with a wonderfully repaired phone! If you're thinking of ordering the DIY kit online, I wouldn't. My phone was in about a million little pieces at one point during the repair and I was just so grateful that I didn't go the DIY route at that point!! I would recommend JCD to anyone! read more

2 thumbs up. They fixed my iPhone in less than 5 minutes. I did not even have an appointment . There were some very small pieces of debris stuck in the phone that prevented me from charging it. JDC cleaned it out and got it working in minutes and did not charge me a cent! I would highly recommend them. I had gone first to Verizon who were unable to fix it and referred me to the Apple Store. After an hour at Apple Store the techs there told me the phone could not be not be repaired but they would gladly replace my phone for $270. read more

Fast and super friendly service. Our iPad 2 fell on concrete and smashed the glass. We thought we were going to have to spend $600 on a new one but I ran across a Google ad for JCD. For $157 we got the glass replaced. It has some dings where it fell but the glass is like new and, like the repair guy told me, there's not a whole lot that can get broken inside the iPad. Set up an appointment for noon on Monday and had it back by 11:00 am on Wed. Couldn't be more pleased, and would use them again in a heartbeat. read more
