Interestingly, Dan had no problem stopping by our home unannounced to collect the remainder of the deposit. Dan and his crew also installed a gutter on our flat roof. The very first time it rained, the gutter did not work properly and overflowed from the front instead of draining correctly. We contacted Dan to come back out and investigate the issue, and we have not heard from him since. Overall, the experience was disappointing. There was a lack of follow-through, poor communication, and work that felt rushed or incomplete. After reading other reviews, many of them sound very similar to our experience. We were told the roof came with a "10-year warranty," but that does not mean much if you cannot get the company to return calls or come back out when there is an issue.

I had a couple of Companys come to discuss the issue and give me estimates. One company, EVERDRY, was a national chain (a big company) and their solution was to waterproof the whole inside of my basement. The cost was more than what I could afford, $27,000. They said that they did not do small jobs and their recommendation was to address the problem by waterproofing everything. The other company that I had come look at the problem was, CHICAGO'S TOP CONSTRUCTION. They are not a national chain; they are a local company based in Chicago Illinois. Kevin, the owner of the company came out to my house with Fidel his lead worker. They did a thorough survey of the problem and came up with the solution to resolve the specific water leakage issue directly. Along with the waterproofing issue I also had them replace my old worn-down gutters which greatly contributed to the water seepage problems I had. The cost was much more affordable but more than that they wanted to address the specific problem rather than do work that in the end may have been unnecessary. Much of what they pointed out as being the problem of water getting into my home, I already had an idea that it was the issue, so I know they were not making up unnecessary solutions. Kevin and Fidel assured me that they could resolve the problem and outlined how long it would take and exactly how it would be done. It was a two-day job and Kevin and Fidel were excellent communicators at answering questions and keeping me informed. Fidel and the work crew were excellent workers. They arrived on time and completed the work as outlined. Kevin and his whole team are a wonderful group of people to work with and I was happy to have had them take on the project. They certainly have my confidence and backing when it comes to choosing a good company to fix, resolve or undertake any number of construction issues. I would definitely recommend their services and will look to them when considering other home projects in the future.

They explain things to you properly and go through pricing with you fairly 2. We received Bill of material from our insurance company and all the materials arrived as listed 3. The workers who were actually doing the work were courteous and they professionally did their job Now the worst experience with this company 1. Their project managers are very rude. We were not sure whether it was because we were doing it for the first time or whether it was a racial thing 2. Anytime we called them asking for explanation of anything the person freaking with us on the phone was always rude. My wife cried a couple of times and I got involved when I saw it happening the second time. I had to literally use the threat to go to BBB for them to back off and finish the work 3. They asked for more money then the initial contract and when the above situation happened they forego the money. I believe they did that as the project manager we were freaking with was very rude and I threatened to go to BBB 4. They let go of the money without us demanding it so it means that they knew they did something wrong 5. The worst part is that as a customer you don't expect your service provider to be rude or threaten you 6. They didn't know that the city of Rolling Meadows needed a permit for any roof work. From our initial meeting, to obtaining the permit, delivery of supplies and replacing the roof itself, absolutely everything went smoothly. The entire job was masterly facilitated by Larry Russell, an experienced roofer who is now the project manager. The roofing team consisted of 6 to 7 experienced roofers who have developed a steady rhythm after working together for years. Amazingly, the work was done on our large roof, back porch and the garage over a three day period! This included removal of the old shingles, installation of 6 feet of ice and water shield on the roof edges and valleys and installation of the new shingles. Working more neatly than any other roofing company I have seen, the roofers bag the old shingles on the roof, then carry the bags to their truck, hauling away the garbage at the end of the day. Workers regularly walked around the house to pick up loose roofing materials. At the end of the workday, a large magnet was used to scan for and remove errant nails. They kept a regular schedule, arriving and leaving at prearranged times. Everyone was polite and respectful. I have full confidence in recommending Becker Roofing for any roofing-related jobs you may have. They run a tight ship resulting in an expertly installed roof in a brief period of time.
