They took pictures to show me the problem and how they corrected it. For the cost they did an excellent job. I forgot to review them at that time, but they did great! Fast forward to this year. I had another issue with my roof when the area got heavy rain. A second roof issue ugh! Well the first company I called was Steve with Shields. Again they came out, took pictures to show me the area and did the work at a very fair cost. Hopefully I don't have to see them again for the roof, but if I need any other work done to my home, they will be the first company I will call. I'd recommend them to anyone who needs roofing or masonry done. Their professionalism, courtesy and kindness were unparalleled.

I can wholeheartedly recommend this company! They went above and beyond.

Avoid these guys like the plague. They are terrible at roof construction, they are terrible at…read morecommunication, and they're dishonest jerks. We should've seen the red flags early on, when they told one of our building owners that they had workers comp insurance, only to backtrack later and say they never said that, then make us pay extra if we wanted that protection. Real sketchy behavior. But they got the roof done (after weeks of showing up at odd hours and rarely often disregarding the agreed upon work schedule), only for us to start experiencing leaks 6 months later in the top unit of our building. Water from melting snow started sopping into the middle of the ceiling, all because they failed to seal the roof material properly. We had a warranty so we asked them to come out and fixed it, only for them to ignore us for weeks - I had to email and call them a half dozen times before they sent somebody over a month after they were first notified of the leaks. When that person did show up, he was quick to tell us that whichever crew sealed the roofing material 6 months earlier did a horrible job. We hoped that would be the last time we ever had to interact with these guys, but a year later over a dozen copings blew off our roof. No other building on our block had copings blow off their building, so it was clearly the result of Capital again doing sub-par work. Capital refused to cover it with their warranty even though it was their fault. I know these guys are cheap, but they'll more than make up for that in the aggravation they cause you.

I am extremely disappointed with my experience with this company. They began working in our home in…read moreFebruary 2026 to remodel two bedrooms, a living room, two bathrooms, and our kitchen. What should have been an exciting improvement to our home has instead turned into months of frustration, disruption, and stress. Communication from the owner has been extremely poor throughout the project. There has repeatedly been miscommunication between the owner, the workers, and what was actually agreed upon in our contract. I have constantly had to go behind the workers, remind them of what needed to be completed, point out mistakes, and address work that was rushed, sloppy, incomplete, or simply not done correctly. The company has also failed to provide a consistent, experienced crew. Workers frequently took days off or simply were not here, and different or inexperienced workers were sent to complete jobs they did not appear qualified to perform. Painting has been particularly disappointing, with sloppy workmanship and areas that have needed correction. Rather than completing each portion of the project properly, much of the work has felt rushed and half done. Another ongoing issue has been the complete lack of respect for our home. Massive amounts of construction debris and trash have repeatedly been left both inside and outside our property instead of being properly cleaned up and removed. Throughout all of this, I upheld my responsibility as the customer. I made every payment on time and many times earlier than required. I gave this company every opportunity to complete the work they were contracted and paid to perform. Looking back, I wish I had stopped the project much sooner. Unfortunately, we were under contract, had already invested significant time and money, and simply wanted the work finished. Instead, we have spent month after month living in a home where multiple rooms have remained unfinished, work has repeatedly needed to be corrected, and we have had to constantly supervise a project that we hired professionals to manage. The mental and emotional toll of living under these conditions for this length of time cannot be overstated. Having your home disrupted for months, never knowing whether workers are going to show up, repeatedly discovering mistakes, living around unfinished construction and debris, and constantly having to chase someone for communication is exhausting. All in all, this has been an extremely disappointing experience. I would not recommend this company. If you are considering hiring them, I strongly encourage you to carefully consider whether you are prepared for the possibility of spending many months living with unfinished work, inconsistent crews, poor communication, repeated mistakes, construction debris, and the stress of having to personally oversee work that you hired and paid a remodeling company to manage. After this experience, I believe we deserved far better communication, workmanship, project management, cleanliness, and professionalism especially considering that we consistently honored our financial obligations throughout the entire project.

I also wanted the photos for my records and documentation on the house. Dan said he would send them, but I never received anything. Interestingly, Dan had no problem stopping by our home unannounced to collect the remainder of the deposit. Dan and his crew also installed a gutter on our flat roof. The very first time it rained, the gutter did not work properly and overflowed from the front instead of draining correctly. We contacted Dan to come back out and investigate the issue, and we have not heard from him since. Overall, the experience was disappointing. There was a lack of follow-through, poor communication, and work that felt rushed or incomplete. After reading other reviews, many of them sound very similar to our experience. We were told the roof came with a "10-year warranty," but that does not mean much if you cannot get the company to return calls or come back out when there is an issue.

They came did a good amount of work replacing some shingles and resealing around venting etc. Everything seemed great, we paid them and they told us if there were any problems with the roof to call and they would be out to fix it. Perfect. The next time we had a storm the roof leaked in the same place. We called and were told that they would send someone out. No one showed up. We called again. Asked what happened and were told something about a communication mix up and someone would come out. No one showed up. We called and got voicemail. We texted and got no answer. If they had actually fixed the leak I doubt I would even care about the maintenance package being a rouse. It was still a decent price for a repair job. But, to not fix the leak and then stop communicating entirely that smells like a scam.
