I found it expensive for what it was. We ordered a large pizza. Added pepperoni, mushrooms, and I forget what else. Ordered some jalapeño poppers, too, while we were at it. Those jalapeño poppers smelled amazing and tasted fantastic if you could get over the overly cooked bacon. I wound up eating one or two and throwing the rest out. Just not worth it. The pizza was fine albeit a tad greasy for my taste. It kept fine for leftovers, but I have to tell you I think my companion enjoyed this pizza more than I did. When I kept hearing this was the locals' spot, I expected more. Frankly I was left underwhelmed by their food and I'm hoping they just had an off day. I want to support local, but if this is the type of food they're offering, well - I rather order pizza from a chain. read more

One of our go-to pizza places in town. Service very friendly and plenty of space. Parking can be challenging when busy. Get the potato salad side and try the buffalo chicken wrap. Derick Sanders is a vegetarian also very good. read more

The pizza was better than average. The decor was clearly an afterthought. Their Beer bar consisted of 4 tap beers. No public restroom. They were, however, kind enough to let me use the employee bathroom which was accessed through the kitchen. Thinking we'll just call for delivery next time. read more

I always enjoy Midtown Pies after a night out on the town. I am convinced this location serves better pizza than the Gaine Street location. The garlic knots are my go to and generally a slice of cheese or pepperoni, you can never go wrong. read more

Midtown Pies - Sausage pizza - Pizza Near Me - Tallahassee, Florida

Well, this is a simple review on my one slice of pie. We ordered from Midtown Pies earlier in the week for lunch. Everything looked & smelled great. As I said, I just got a slice with 3 toppings: mushroom, onion, Italian sausage. The slice had a great crust, crunchy every bite. The mushrooms were fresh & the onions were sweet. Lots of sausage for just one slice! Someone else ordered their Cobb salad that came with a tin of hot meat (I think) to go with the salad. Forgive me, I have no idea what goes into the salad & I didn't get to see it all together but I do know there was enough for 2 ppl. Looking forward to ordering again. read more

I do not like thin piece Pizza I prefer my pizza to be thick. They have thin pizza but it was really good that I didn't mind it at all. We got two pies, one blueberries and bacon and the other one was pesto basic with chicken. They were both really good, I honestly can't decide which one was better; but the blueberry one was the most unique in the one I would recommend trying just because it was so unique, great combination of flavors. You can definitely taste the quality of ingredients that they use here. The decor is very hipster, which I appreciated and the location is average sized. The only issue with this place is the pricing, a little but high but I would still say it is worth it! read more

Got a gluten free margarita pizza, which overall was very underwhelming. The dough was undercooked and the ingredients (tomatoes etc.) had no flavor. I love their location on Gaines st. so I feel like this was just a one time thing. Even though my experience was average, I would give it another try. read more

Great place to go for a fun, unusual pizza! I love their combinations! The only reason I didn't give them a five is because I've been there 3 times now and this last time it seemed that my pizza with the prosciutto and cherries and honey seemed a bit short on ingredients. I', one of those people that assume, as a business owner, that if you're running low on your ingredients, you don't wait for your shipment the next day - you RUN TO PUBLIX and grab some prosciutto to keep your clients happy! Don't think they don't notice, either...we are not stupid. It takes a wise person to see the beauty in a prosciutto, cherry, and honey pizza - so, don't sell me short. Just take it off the menu if you don't have staff to make a run. There, I've said it. Other than that, my daughter had the cheesiest, most wonderful pizza at the same time and it was incredible. Every other time I've come everyone in out party has been thrilled with theirs, so I believe this was a one time learning curve. Please!? ;-D I love Midtown Pies! Everyone should try it and find their fave and then mix and match to try all the others, too! They have cool beers and wine to help 'cleanse the palate' between flavors! ;-) read more

After a recent celiac diagnosis, I've been on the hunt for the best gluten free pizza (and my husband on the hunt for the best calzone) in Tallahassee, and Midtown Pies is without a doubt the winner! Gaines Street Pies meets Midtown's foot traffic. It's a great spot to grab a slice when you are walking or frequenting the bars in the area.

If you want a really good, rarely great, but well priced slice of pizza, this is the place to go. Their other location on Gaines Street is terrible, but this place is good, quality pizza served quick with a good beer selection read more

Fantastic pizza, fantastic calzones, great beer choices. Their pepperoni pizza has a uniqueness about it that I can't put my finger on and I love it. read more

Gaines Street Pies' older brother offers a unique experience unlike its counterpart. The space itself is laid out appropriately, because, naturally, it's more likely to appeal to an elder midtown crowd, while still entertaining the college folk. The pizza is tender with a crisp bite of crust and dough on the bottom, making for a well-balanced bite. On my most recent visit, I ordered a grilled chicken slice and a creamy ricotta slice. The chicken was seasoned and cooked thru perfectly. Often times, ricotta can be heavy on the stomach, but they don't overdo it here at Midtown. They're well aware that a little bit goes a long way. Just like Gaines Street, Midtown offers a similar lunch special. Also, there are a few tweaks to the menu, some selections that are offered at Midtown are not offered at Gaines Street. So, check those out! These guys genuinely have a passion for pizza. Their ratio of cheese to sauce is what I love and why I wake up in the morning. You can't find pizza like this anywhere else. Spreading the gospel of Gaines Street Pies in Midtown! Midtown Pies provides all the flavors of Gaines Street Pies just a little farther north in Midtown, without losing any of the quality! Sitting among the bunch of bars at the Midtown Manor, a slice of pizza here is perfect after a couple of beers. The slices are huge and well worth the price. Unless you're in a group, you won't need more than a slice, but you can always order a full pie to share. Highly recommend adding on their garlic knots too, if you have some extra space. The slices and pies are definitely geared towards "build your own", but you can select one of their specials if you can't decide. Overall, stop by (they're open late) while you're hanging out in between bars and need a good solid slice of pizza. You'll be glad you did! read more

Midtown Pies has become one of my favorite places to get pizza in Tallahasssee. I now tend to frequent there after a night of dancing at Fifth and Thomas, but have occasionally ordered out for dinner. To start, their pies are definitely one of the best in Tallahassee. The quality of ingredients and size of the pie for the price are definitely nothing to argue about. As for customer service, the staff is always very friendly and I see the same people there time and time again which must mean that they love working there and that is something I appreciate. My friend and I most recently visited last weekend. We split a 14" pie of The One With Everything On It. The pie came out piping hot, as usual, and was just absolutely delicious. The best part was the leftover pizza the next day. :) I have yet to try any of their appetizers or salads because I simply love their pizza, but after reading reviews on the garlic knots I think I will just have to put in an order of those at my next visit! read more

I absolutely love the crazy and creative options offered by midtown pies! If you haven't already please try the honey I shrunk the pigs pizza, yes I know cream cheese, candied jalapeños, honey, etc. may not sound that appealing, but wow it is surely AMAZING. The house made candied jalapeños are delicious and go perfectly on any slice of pizza. Not only are the pizzas themselves creative, but so are their names. You can tell the time and thought that went into curating the menu. Not only does midtown pies have great pizzas but their salads are amazing. You can get a slice, a drink, and a salad for $8 during lunch, and you can also get two slices and a drink for $6. You can't get a better deal in town. Everyone check out midtown pies. read more

I've been to Gaines Street Pies several times and have always had a good experience, but tonight was my first time visiting their Midtown location. I was sad that they weren't very busy, but it did make for a nice, quiet dining experience for the few people who were there. The inside was very nice and clean, the service was good, and the food was excellent. The menu has a lot of great options, and their lunch specials are a great deal. I've had pizza from Gaines Street many times and have never been disappointed. Tonight I had a calzone and it was fantastic. I will definitely return. read more

They lost my order. I called an hour in advance. How does this happen? 28 dollars for a medium? Why not stay home and cook a steak?

Candied jalapeños on a pizza?! Yum! We ordered an 18" pizza that was half guy on a buffalo part 2 and the pixie. -you can only do the half and half if you order 14" or 18". I highly recommend it! The buffalo was definitely our favorite. The combination of ranch and buffalo wing sauce was perfect with the candied jalapeño. It definitely has a kick, so if you don't like spicy food I wouldn't order this one. The pixie was probably a poor choice to order with the buffalo because the buffalo over takes it. Its still a great pizza however, and it will make for good leftovers. read more

After a night at midtown, my friends and I stumbled into Midtown Pies around 1:30 excited about the fact that they're open till 3am! That alone got us ready to devour a whole pie whether we knew about the quality or not. It was our first time here and usually places open past normal business hours are a hit or miss. Ordering a Caesar salad we thought it would be an ordinary small salad but we were totally wrong. It came out on a large plate and almost like a mountain! We were shocked at the size but even more blown away at home good it was! Then the pizza shows up and it's some pretty good quality pizza!! Now that we know about this place we know we're we'll be heading for a late night bite after hours!! Great food and great location!! read more

This is located around the corner from a few stores. The set up was great. There were some bar seating and tables for us. Service was friendly and quick. I ordered the Caprese Vegetarian (Rich layers of tomato and fresh smoked Mozzarella topped with fresh basil, olive oil, kosher salt and balsamic reduction) and The Mark Forbear (Salami, smoked Gouda, lettuce, tomato, our house made vinaigrette and pesto aioli). The Caprese was tasty and the mozzarella was moist and perfect. The drizzle of balsamic reduction was just enough. The sandwich was a nice combination especially with the pesto and vinaigrette. read more

You know, now I understand why this place is called midtown pies, because everything in here is MID. We waited over an hour for a pizza with barely any sauce. How hard is it to make a damn cheese pizza when y'all ain't even busy. Like I said. MIDDDDDD! read more

Did I mention Gaines St. Pies was the best in town? It's true - and now with midtown pies open (for months now), we know to expect another "best experience" in TLH's growing pizza offerings. Wife and I ordered a 1/2 cleopatra (on the Gaines st. Menu, not here) and 1/2 Maggie Mae (I don't recall it being on Gaines menu). Stellar. The crust rivals anything with a 212 area code. The sauce is solid - and the ingredients/toppings retain body and flavor. The decor is simple - the focus is, after all, in making the best pizza possible. Good beers on tap - as well as vino. Oh - and ginger ale as a fountain choice! P.s., two of the poor reviews are suspiciously similar - and I would guess they're either outright haters or paid to mar a good thing.l read more

Midtown Pies - 1/2 cleopatra, 1/2 Maggie Mae. Good stuff. - Pizza Near Me - Tallahassee, Florida

Gaines Street Pies or Momo's are usually touted as the best pizza places in town. Until today, I might have agreed. Midtown Pies combines the best of both Gaines Street Pies--with it's unique vibe and well-made pies--and Momo's renowned slice as big as your head. While MTP slices aren't AS big as Momo's, (although they come close), MTP certainly does have much more interesting and unique pies to choose from than either Gaines Street or Momo's. Today, I had a Reuben pizza. Let that info sink in as you sink your teeth into pizza that is both a pizza and a Reuben. (I think you got it now.) The staff was very friendly, especially to an indecisive first-timer like me. The beer was cold. The pizza came quickly. What else can you ask for in a pizza joint? read more

Casual, pizza place with plenty of seating inside. Great food; garlic knots are AWESOME! Parking is limited, but there is parking throughout midtown. Also great for delivery/take-out. Reasonable prices. Tip: They generally have coupons in the monthly coupon ad book. read more

Pizza dough had zero flavor. The cheese tasted bad. Also, 14" 3 vegetable topping pizza was $20. Not worth it. Disappointed :/

Pizza is mediocre at best, I would suggest going to Blaze where you can get the same quality and size for literally half the price. Also $3 is a bit extra for a blue ribbon. Garlic knots tastes like a cinnamon roll without the icing. Only plus about this place is the cool mural. Not much traffic on the weekdays but I can understand how they stay in business with those ridiculous prices read more

This place has great pizza. I love the Buffalo Chicken Pizza. Absolutely amazing. Good crust and a well formed pie. One of my favorites. This is my go to place. I have no complaints. Always have been treated well there. read more

Whether it's 2am and I'm in the mood for cheesy, greasy, and covered in pepperoni, or it's middle of the day and I want something classier like fig... I love Midtown Pies! It's no so thick that it feels like all I'm eating is dough or it hides the flavor of the toppings. I'd say it's just right. The Figure Four is my favorite (I swap out the spicy cappicola for bacon though since I can't handle the heat) and it hits the spot without feeling like I just gained 10 lbs and clogged all my arteries! read more

I've been looking forward to trying this place, and it didn't disappoint. We started with the Very Important Cheesy Bread, a blend of three or four cheeses atop a fantastic crust. We also ordered an 18" pepperoni pie. Thin crust, great cheese, and awesome pepperonis, made for a great pizza. With tons of pizza choices in town, several within a block of this place, it has to be hard to establish a loyal following of pizza lovers in Tallahassee. There are other pizza joints that I am fond of, but Midtown Pies has definitely earned a spot in my starting rotation. read more

It's time I update this. They definitively revamped their service and had new hires with really pleasant and welcoming attitudes. Last time I went the cashier and the pizza makers were super nice. This is my favorite pizza in town! I'm glad is not too close to me or I'd be here everyday ! The pizza is great, probably one of my favorites in Tally. I feel the preparation is less rushed than at Gaines Street Pies and it is more cheesy, with the right amount of tasty sauce for flavor without overpowering the other ingredients. You can make your own or choose from their options: I love the white pizza, and they have other great creations. I love the decor, the tri-force, Mario and MMORPG-style dragon painting on the walls...and the Pac - mans! read more

Always great pizza and the space to eat in is very nice. Never have much more than an average weight, and the one time I waited longer the waitress offered me a free beer! I love this place for dine-in, carryout, or order because I live close, and it has some of the best pizza around. read more

It really pains me to give this place such a bad review. The food is delicious and the service is great. However, the food has made me sick on many occasions after eating here. I've tried it plenty of times because it tastes so good and because I was hoping it would be something else. I have the same experience with Gaines Street Pies. I don't have lactose, gluten, or any other intolerance that would help explain why pizza would be making me ill. Also, I have eaten pizza plenty of times at other restaurants, and this has not happened. Unfortunately, this seems to point to tainted ingredients, refrigeration issues, or a lack of sanitation on the part of those preparing the food. read more

We finally ate here for the first time. The pizza is really good. A little pricey compared to Blaze. Wish it had more of a sit down with a waitress atmosphere than order pay first. Could definitely see this being more a take out spot. read more
