I had an awful experience today DEEP Brewing Company and I will not be back! Went in for a late lunch and it turns out their menu is extremely limited at certain points of the day. They've been advertising their hotdogs as a special and you can only get them at certain points in time. When I complained the girl at the counter was rude and condescending, and basically told me it was clear on all social media. No surprise that it said it nowhere. So I paid for the drinks we didn't drink and will never go back. Do yourself a favor and go somewhere else. Too many businesses that respect their customers to waste money on those that don't...and a check on their reviews shows a pattern. read more

This is a mixed review. The food was good but the service was not that great. I really didn't like turning the credit card over to start a "tab" as the waitress put it. We were there for lunch not to run up a liquor tab. We were less than impressed with our waitress, she was forgetful and unattentive. The food was good but not great. We would probably go out of our way to visit again. They did have donuts that were really good but the waitress got are to go donut wrong. Fortunately it was good anyway. read more

Went here on a Saturday afternoon for a few beers, the environment was good. The service was friendly and quick. We weren't rushed out of there which was nice, we stayed for a few hours just enjoying the drinks and space. We will definitely come back again, especially when it's warmer out! I will say, as a precursor, this was on "National Wing Day", not that it should have made a difference. Arrived around ~6:30, and took a seat within ~10 minutes. Immediately ordered, as we (my wife and I) were there specifically so I could attempt the wing challenge. Order consisted of the following: (1) Long Island (1) Milk (1) Ghost Wing Challenge (1) Chicken Nuggets (1) Cheese Fries (1) "Fried" Pickle Chips At ~30 minutes, we flagged down the server and asked if we could get water. It was warm At ~45 minutes the drink that had been sitting behind us on the bar back area for 10-15 minutes was handed to me. At ~60 minutes, someone brought out a ramekin of sliced pickles. (I had specifically asked the server if they were fried pickles, which he said yes, and is the only reason I ordered them.) Around this same time, although we had still not had our server come back, one of the bartenders came to see if he could help, and got some cheese fries out to us. Luke warm, but pretty good. At ~90 minutes someone who I would assume is a manager noticed my exasperated look, asking if he could help us. We decided to cancel our order after hearing others state they had been there for 2 hours and were still waiting on food & also seeing people that came in after us get food to their table. Caveat if you made it this far, the group that had been next to us assured us a couple of times that "This place is NOT like this usually." Eventually our server came back to cash us out, and was confused on what we had received and not received. Probably because he never checked on us. No discount, no come back coupon, no apology, nothing. It might be good food, I don't know. We wound up wasting a few hours of our night, all to eat McDonalds. My dining companion and I visited DEEP Brewing Co. on a recent Saturday. The sign at the entrance tells us to please be seated on your own. We thought we should leave the long high top tables for larger parties. We chose to sit at a smaller table for four along the window wall. The chairs seem too short for the tables along the window. The restaurant is sleek and modern. Eye-catching decor that is visually appealing. We watched servers and management walked by our table several times in a five minute period and not a single person greeted us. We finally flagged down what appeared to be a manager, and asked if we could be served. They abruptly left the table, more minutes past, and eventually a server came to the table, dropped menus, and left. We waited another five minutes and finally flagged the server down to take our order. I've never experienced this, but the server requested a credit card immediately to start a tab. We said we were paying cash and only planning to order a sandwich and an iced tea. She stated that was the policy so if you are arriving with no credit card in hand, it is possible, you can't be served. Cash is not king here. My dining companion really wanted to try the Italian beef sandwich so we ordered one entree to split. He ordered an unsweet iced tea and I drank water. The food arrived promptly and the bowl presentation was acceptable. The sandwich is served on top of smashed potatoes that are probably baked. There was a gravy at the bottom of the bowl, which was I think was the au jus meant to dip the sandwich. The bread was not fresh. The sandwich was hot and tasty. The meal was enough for two people, but the server didn't bring a plate for the shared portion. We flagged another server and requested and received a plate. The total was $25. My dining companion had visited the restaurant for breakfast several weeks earlier. He noted the food was good and the service was efficient. I hope our visit today was not the norm because we felt totally ignored. We decided if we chose to return in the future we would have to sit at the bar to be able to be served on a timely basis, if at all. read more

Deep recently moved across the street to a huge new building, so the gf and I came to check it out for Sunday brunch. There is a ton of seating: four-seater tables, communal tables, outdoor two-person tables and even a couple couches. They have TVs everywhere playing whatever game is on. They also have two large family bathrooms in addition to the men's and women's rooms. Service was slow, but the food and drinks were great. The gf got a mimosa and the fried pork chop. The pork chop was on the thin side but flavorful and filling. It came with Bradley's sausage gravy which was great. I got the fish and grits. It was even better than the pork chop. The bacon was ok but the side of spicy sausage was excellent. The breakfast potatoes were also surprisingly good. The gf liked her mimosa. I liked my flight which was a mix of IPAs and sours. The only negatives were the slow service and lack of parking. This huge building seats a ton of people, and there definitely are not enough parking spaces. We parked at the old building and walked over. We will definitely be back. read more

Enjoy the new location, and we come once a week. Menus have a variety of food and drinks for everyone. A few areas of opportunity: don't wait 30 minutes to tell someone their brunch dish is unavailable, with electronic ordering the quantities remaining should be available at the time of ordering. It was bizarre being told as the rest of our order was coming out that there was no more protein quiche. Secondly, make sure appropriate utensils arrive with the dish. And third, when bringing out new products and advertising them on social channels, make sure staff are ready to serve them. I was told a drink wasn't available and needed to return the next day, and later confirmed it was indeed on the menu that evening. We had two misses this week, probably going to wait a few weeks before returning and hope things go back to being awesome. Don't let our experience deter you from giving them a shot, it may just be that we go so often that we hit more hiccups. read more

I don't do these often, so when I do, there must be a reason. I've dropped 5 star reviews without commenting. If I get amazing service I find the on duty manager and tell them immediately so they can feel good about their team. I've spent over 40yrs in the hospitality industry along with wine, beer & spirits distribution. I've run restaurants and nightclubs as well as working for a national chain as a corporate front of the house trainer. I try to always eat local, drink local beer and independent coffee shops. With that being said, I feel I'm qualified to leave this review. I went in there on Father's Day with my family, all adults and one young child. We arrived just as one of the FIFA matches just started, so I know these time quotes are accurate. We watched multiple servers, managers (I'm guessing based on what they were doing) & server assistants. We sat for a good 15 minutes before we had to stop someone, because one of the people was getting hot, and needed some water. It wasn't until after that, we were given menu's and asked what we would like to drink. That took almost 15-18 minutes until those arrived. They were not complicated, Diet Coke a house special drink and their flagship beer. Once the other 3 people joined us, we ordered food and another round. Again, that took 15+ minutes to get that . Albeit they were busy, full house, but it appeared that they ample personal to accommodate the guests. We came specifically for the Chicago Hot Dogs, because they have all the proper ingredients. But, when we ordered... they were out. Then when another sandwich s was ordered, we were told they were out of fries. My pregnant daughter was craving one of their signature doughnuts... they were out. And when I mean out, all signature donuts were outThen there was another side dish that was out, but at this point we were glazing over the menu again. Once food came, it was delicious. The beer and drinks were 5 star, all the way. The last disappointment was when we were ready to check out, our server was nowhere to be found. We waited expecting her to check on us, considering I had ordered one last beer (another 15 minutes went by, and she had to come back to confirm my order). This is in no way a complaint but should be taken as a possible retraining opportunity, or at the absolute least, a good pre-shift discussion on service steps. Deep brewing co surpassed my expectations! What a beautiful building with natural lighting and ample seating. Great big space and plenty of tvs to catch the games. They had a wide variety of food that were amazing and their beer could satisfy whatever your mood is. My bartender Leon was a delight and made it all the better. I've been coming to Deep since they first opened years ago. Now they have food which is cool. Just wanted to compliment the sausage gravy. I ordered it spicy and it was actually spicy. First time back since the new updated of Deep Brewing. We are constant customers and we say it like it is. -First the updates are stunning and the place looks great! However the menu needs work big time we started out with what they call Swedish meatballs it was horrible and meatballs looked like they were baked out in the sun. -Pork Nelly dish was just so/so nothing to write home about. -Cuban sandwich I would say was half way decent but what's with the pieces of baked potato pulled apart and deep fried. Not to great we have to say. After seeing the customers coming in there were a lot of children they don't have a child's menu either. They need a real cook add some burger sliders, French fries, mac and cheese cater to your client and tell walking in. -The Blue gluten free beer gone it was the best gluten free beer around Tallahassee. The beer flight was decent as usual but that's about it. They also should have some like things on the tables and bar area like bar bits or something. Overall the new place it's beautiful but food is not too good and suggest they revamp the menu to children and client and client tell get another chef as we thought as avid customers it needs work. read more

Went there the first time and it was incredible! Great beer and food is second to none! Live close so it became the go-to place to eat...BUT, the last 5 times it went down hill, fell in love with certain things and made a special trip just for them and every time they were out of them. Very frustrating but usually they are worth it. So for fathers day it was my first choice and met friends there....however almost every single thing that we asked for they were out of, between 4 of us not one got what they wanted. So I got a Gyro (what the heck)...it sucked, not hot, no sauce and basically tasted like it came out of a machine. Saddens me to see a place go into decline but I may come back for a beer (very good) but I cant see myself getting excited anymore which is a bummer because I finally found a place in Tallahassee I looked forward to. The employees at DEEP are very warm and friendly. The girl at the cashier especially so; she helped me pick out a beer as I'm not much of a beer person. Ordered a Pilsner and it was light and refreshing. Better yet this brewery had a food truck on sight called Maad Goat. The pizza there was divine! Anyway, while not the biggest brewery, it is quite homey, and more importantly after the tornadoes hit, they were open. They had drinks, food, and plugs to charge electronics. Tonight my son and family of eight celebrated his birthday at Deep for wing night. The wings arrived and my wife asked to have extra crispy fried. They came out undone and pinkish red inside. She notified the waitress who called the manager who came back telling her the cooks checked the temp and they were done. They offered no remedy. My son's wings were ordered grilled and came out very Smokey. He notified staff and was told that they were supposed to be that way. They weren't eaten. The wings were ordered to come with ranch or blue cheese which didn't arrive. When it was requested they were charged 2.99 each!! As regular customers who visit quite often, this will likely be the first and only visit for wing night. We were thoroughly disappointed with not only the food but with the management's lack of concern and remedy. Out of our party of eight, not one person had any positive feedback. When the time came to clear the table, over half of my son's wings were not eaten and he declined a box. That should have been a sign of concern for the staff but there was none shown. read more

First stop on our Tallahassee brewery tour was Deep! They have a pretty big outdoor seating area along with three seating areas inside. I walked around taking pictures of their unique artwork before getting down to business on our flight options. I just love love love their anglerfish hop logo and was completely bummed that none of their tshirts had that logo on them. I really wanted to get one for Ben to add to his collection but the beertender said he would mention it to his boss for a possibility on their next design. I would even order one for shipping without hesitation. Hint hint Deep owner(s). It just fits their theme and name so perfectly, not to mention that we are in Florida and all. We chatted a little with the beertenders before making our final decisions and finding a spot to enjoy them. At the table they have QR codes for ordering food from the food truck that is parked right outside or you could just walk out there too. I am assuming that truck is always there are both Deep's and the food trucks name/logo were printed together. We weren't hungry just yet but the food options did look good. The beer was solid and their to-go prices were great, making for easy decisions. Since they didn't have a shirt with the anglerfish hop logo on it, I did pick up a glass to bring home and add to our collection with it. This is a great local business. I've been here a few times now, and enjoy sitting outside on the deck with one of their delicious brews. They usually have a food truck, and the deck is partially covered. There are some strings lights outside for a cozy feel, and when it's cold, there are heaters. The restrooms are inside as well as more seating and the brewing area. Orders are placed at the bar, and you carry them back to your table. They serve flights as well as full pours.
