Its a tiny hole in the wall that most people would pass by every day and never think to go in. Its not very flashy or modern, and the interior only has 3 tables and 1 counter to sit at. ignore that, the coffee here is good, the owner remembers all his regular customers by name, and their favorite drink, and he customizes a design in their cut with a paint brush. you just dont get that kind of attention at any of the chain coffee companies. cute little coffee shop. only open monday-friday until 1230pm. sandwiches are decent. breakfast ones are lacking some type of dressing of any sort. coffee is good, got the regular drip coffee and oatmilk latte both good. lunch sandwiches are also decent with added mayo and mustard with the price you pay could have more on the sandwiches. decently priced coffee i think the sandwiches are over priced for what you get but it's a little mom and pop shop cant be mad at it. been coming here while in vacation for the passed 2 days for a small breakfast and coffee to start our day. read more

I've worked in the same block as Midtown Espresso for almost 2 years. Sadly, it took me over a year to drag my lazy butt down there for a coffee. It was at the behest of my boss, who told me that Alex makes the best coffee in town, that I finally wandered the half block to get some wake-up-juice. Yes. YES. YES!!! Why didn't I do this before? Alex uses Dillano's coffee, rated as the 3rd best in the country. I'm no expert, but this is EASILY the smoothest coffee I've ever had. The 'place' across the street is ok but in reality is not much better than the world's largest coffee chain...you know the place. And every coffee served at the 'place' across the street comes with a side of attitude (certain doughnut server/barista hybrid employees don't like making an espresso in a paper cup because it interacts poorly with the crema...give me a break, as soon as it cools a couple of degrees I'm going to shoot it like cheap tequila)...Midtown's coffee is completely attitude free! HOORAY UNPRETENTIOUSNESS!!! If you've read my review for Grecian Corner (if you haven't, do so NOW...wait, finish reading this one first and then read Grecian Corner...Then go to Grecian Corner for lunch, yes, I command it) you may already know that I love a place that remembers my name. Well, even if the name isn't there, my 'usual' is remembered, that's nearly just as good. My 'usual' used to be a tall double-shot cappucino...then it changed to a tall double-shot soy cappucino...now I'm a tall single-shot soy cappucino. It did not take Alex more than 1 order to remember ANY of my drinks. He's spot on! Then there's the food. I'm not saying it's gourmet, but it's good, hearty fare. I rarely order a breakfast sandwich any longer but he still remembers whenever I want one (usually the day after I've had a few drinks...). The man is awesome I tell you! In the heart of Seattle, I love the fact that I have a neighborhood place I can go to get a good cup o' joe and have some friendly morning conversation in a familiar place. No matter how busy Midtown is, the wait is definitely worth it. Coffee was really good. A fan of the Americano. Wasn't a fan of their food. It felt like some of the food was just reheated in the microwave (actually, I know this to be true because I was there alone and after I ordered, I heard the microwave go off). I got the veggie breakfast sandwich ($4.99) and the 2 eggs plus bacon and 1.5 pieces of toast ($8.95). The sandwich was fine, good but just not very hot. The other plate felt expensive for the amount of food. It was okay, mediocre, just not something I'd be interested in having again. The people are charming and really nice and the staff are cool. But, I live in NYC usually, and this wouldn't fly, particularly not compared to delis in the city that are half the price but taste better. read more

Delightful spot! I went here 3 days in a row while in Seattle for work. Green tea & egg/cheese sandwich with avocado, spinach & tomato. All very good & healthy. Super lovely people and a nice spot to sit and watch the locals go by. The owner was warm and friendly and if I lived here I would go there for breakfast every day. This little shop is right next to my apartment so I have started making it my regular coffee stop. The man who owns the shop is very friendly and makes a great cappuccino. They also serve breakfast all day and offer sandwiches and even vegetarian chili. There are only 3 tables inside but on a nice day he sets up a few outside. No more waiting for 15 minutes at top pot for a coffee when I have this cute place right across the street. read more

I am so in love with this little shop. I admittedly resent some coffee shop regulars. when they get special treatment and great conversation and a warm greeting from the staff, while I sit and wait politely to get mediocre service. This maybe shallow or childish of me, but I can't help it. With that off my chest: The very first time I came in to this coffee shop, I was treated like I was an old dear friend. Regulars came in and out, and were treated like regulars...and I was treated no different. I left for work feeling great, with a big smile on my face. This place is on my way to work, and while I go for Top Pot about once a week still, I head to mid-town when I forget my morning oatmeal, and need something to tide me over until lunch. I went in and all my dreams came true. Not only do they have breakfast sandwiches that they serve all day (till 3) but they also let you CUSTOMIZE! I can pick what type of meat, cheese, AND bread!
