I have been coming here since 2014 and at that time only felt like there were a handful of great techs but I never knew who to go with so I wouldn't request a specific person. When Eric took over the salon, it was a total Game Changer!!! The man cares about his salon and the quality it puts out! This is my nail place and I won't go anywhere else. I refuse to go anywhere else! Prices are fair for the quality of work they put out too. In fact I truly believe they are under charging. I've paid A LOT more for my nails when I lived in Cali. So these prices don't ever make my wallet cry. All the staff in this nail salon are truly amazing. And many of them soo funny when you get to know them. My daughter really likes getting her nails done and it so happens that my husband met the person who runs Midlands Nails & Spa, so she decided to give them a try. She usually likes to go to one certain place, but Edward was so nice, we went here. Lia found some nails online that she liked in hopes the person who was going to do her nails could do them. The lady doing her nails was very meticulous and detailed. It took a while for her nails to be done, but Lia was beyond happy with them. Zero stars if I could! Sign on the window says walk in welcome but when I walked in and only wanted my nails reshaped and a new top coat which would have took 10 minutes the owner right away said no. I love midlands! I've been quite a few times and have tried a ton of nail places in omaha, and this place is the best for the price in my experience. The only reason that I knocked a star off the review was because of the wait time. I had an appointment for 1:00pm, and I didn't get seated for my manicure until 1:40pm. It was the Friday before Mother's Day weekend so I don't want to say that's an experience I usually have, but what's the point of making an appointment if it's going to be an additional 40 minute wait? My nails look great, I got a dip manicure with one color. I got a classic pedicure with the same color that was okay. It seemed rushed and doesn't look the best, but it's a lighter color so could just be me. I'd go back, but maybe do a gel pedicure instead of a classic :) read more

I'd been coming here for years. My last experience was terrible with my dip with tips appt. She kept gluing the tips to her own fingers! When she finally got the tips on and trimmed, they were crooked and different lengths. After dip was applied, she ran the file over it a few times and said she was done. I told her to file more because they were bumpy and not smooth at all. She got snarky with me, so I left, saying I could finish filing at home on my own. They always have their dogs in here from their backyard breeding "business", that poo and pee on puppy pads in the salon. The owner is rude and catty, and his boyfriend is just as bad. They'll blatantly talk about customers right in front of them, and it's so obvious when they look at people, talk back and forth to each other, then laugh. There's plenty of other places to get your nails done where you're treated kindly and don't have to worry about smelling dog sh!t. read more

Excellent nail salon! I came in today as a walk-in. It was busy, but I was seated right away. I got a shellac (semi-permanent gel) manicure... all the nail tools were sterilized or new out the package. I've been to nail salons in the past where they don't do that and that's disgusting. Needless to say this place was pretty clean. Also what I thought was pretty cool was that they give you a 7 day warranty if you chip your nails and they'll repair it for free! The man that did my nails was very rude at the beginning. He never gave me a change to really explain what I wanted. As you can see in the picture I have a bad nail and I wanted a pink not a clear and he just didn't listen when I asked for it. He has some small talk in the end and that was okay. At one point I reached my hand down to get my card and he yelled at me and slammed his hand on the table and that really scared me. I actually had to fix my nails when I got home. They were very uneven and he didn't even use tools to clean around and under my nails. He seemed very rushed and just wanted me to get out. There were many times where he got on his phone and even answered a phone call at one point. The edges of my nails were not done at all. HOWEVER, I am very disappointed because, as you can see from this photo, my finger is bleeding... My nail tech today, while using the nail drill, made me bleed three times. I am upset about this because my fingers are so so sore now. I can't even wash them in cold water without it hurting. Less then 24 hours after my original appointment, I called to say my nails needed to be reshaped and repainted (I had regular polish. NOT shellac or dip) because I was unhappy. I had expected the service would be complimentary considering I had left at 8pm the night before and called them at 10am the next morning. I tipped the lady on my way out for such a turned around experience and way better nail job. Then, Eric (the owner and guy who did my acrylic fill), caused a scene in front of the whole nail salon, telling us we needed to pay $27 for the new regular polish all because we changed colors. Not to mention, I paid $70 with a $10 tip included the night before. I'm all about paying for a service and helping out local businesses; however what I am NOT about is treating a customer the way we were treated. There was no reason to loudly speak to us in front of the entire nail salon about how "we walked out and didn't pay" when 1. No one told us we'd be charged for picking a new color & 2. No one told us we'd be charged at all. Isn't that something that should be clarified before even beginning the (second) service? Last summer I had a pool party to go to so I went to Midlands nails because it was in my neighborhood. My nails looked good so I decided to go back 2 more times. The second time I went I was in a massage chair getting pedi and they sat an old man with grotesque nail fungus next to me and proceeded to cut and file his infected toenails. The smell was horrible. I was concerned it was getting on me or could affect me because of the strong smell in the air. I couldn't leave fast enough. I wasn't going to go back but they sent me a coupon. I went back and as I'm sitting for my pedi deciding on a color the lady tell me I have toenail fungus. I have never had fungus in my life. I told her that it was from their place then and she got an attitude and my experience sucked. I went to my doctor and she informed me that I do indeed have fungus now. I've been fighting this fungus with treatment since last summer and my nails still aren't healthy. Midland is dirty and you will get nail fungus and they will deny it came from them. Everyone's attitude totally changed towards me like I was the villain. Please don't make the same mistake I did. read more

My mom and I came here to get our nails done for my birthday. She got shellac and I got acrylics with shellac over them. We were taken to separate areas, which makes sense because we were having different things done. I was seated with Jen, who kindly greeted me and started asking what my plans were for my birthday. She kept chatting with me even when my mom came over when she was done. It's been almost 2 weeks now and my nails still look great. By far the best part is they give you a little card in case something happens within the first week due to something they did wrong and they will fix it. I used to love this place when it was owned and run by Lee. He took good care of his customers and treated them with utmost respect. I have in fact, recommended his salon to friends and family. I haven't been back there for a while until today (mani-pedi), and boy was it a HUGE mistake! It's so unfortunate that the ownership and management changed, because so did customer service! Special mention to the unbelievably rude front desk guy who gave me the WORST experience I've ever had in a nail salon! Here's why: So the girl who was assigned to me had asked if I liked the shape of my nails after she had cut them. Since I didn't, I ever so politely tried to explain and show her how I wanted it to look. Since she had difficulty understanding English, and the fact that she was okay with me filing my big toenails myself earlier (because she messed up), I went ahead and filed one fingernail to show her the shape I wanted. She suddenly turned to this obnoxious guy at the front desk and said something in Vietnamese. Then he just started talking down on me, telling me to stop filing my nails myself, because if something goes wrong I will blame them for it! WHAAATTT??? Although the manicure I received here was good, the customer service was anything but. After my manicure, I went to pay the $40 bill with a gift certificate I had. The gift certificate said on it that it was good for "all businesses in Midlands Place". I was told I could not pay with my gift certificate because it did not have the Midlands Nail and Spa logo on it, and therefore they would not honor it. Super friendly staff. I got my nails powder dipped ($35) and my 6 yr old got a child pedicure ($20). They were super awesome with my daughter and gave her a bottle of water, a sucker, and a free design on her nails. She was very happy with her experience. I noticed one of my nails hadn't quite cured all the way before we left and they were prompt to fix it and make sure it was good before we walked out the door. I would give 0 stars if possible. DO NOT GO HERE! The pedicure tech named Ruby cut my toe to the point I was bleeding and then proceeded to laugh when I jumped from the pain. Extreme disrespect from everyone in there and laughed at when I explained I am not receiving what I asked for. This was our first time there and they told us to "calm down and stop screaming" when we asked why they tacked on an extra charge for removal of powder (this was the manicure my mom received). We never raised our voice or spoke with any disrespect towards the technicians, you are allowed to express your concerns during your service. Never once has there been an extra charge for removal of old dip powder when getting a new dip powder manicure at any other salon. The powder doesn't even cover the whole nail! I received an acrylic manicure with ombré that was completely inconsistent. It was supposed to be all glitter over a natural colored base. Every single nail looks different and some nails you can't even tell there's supposed to be glitter , the only compliment I can give is that the tech did a nice short coffin shape.
